Remember when Grange Hill went to the Isle Of Wight? Or the escaped puma? Here are 12 memorable school trip episodes from the early years...
With just over thirty years worth of screen time, there are plenty of memorable moments in Grange Hill. From its inception in February 1978 the programme proved both entertaining and controversial. It tackled many difficult subjects head-on: bullying, vandalism, racism, censorship, shop-lifting, school uniform protest, teenage pregnancy and - most famously of all - drugs. However, every now and again it would attempt to give viewers a break from the everyday and head off on a day trip or weekend excursion.

Time travel stories are tough to execute. You have so much you need to establish from the outset to give the reader that one wrong move, or a plethora of wrong moves, will sink your story before it has a chance to really get started.
From Alterna Comics, Charge #1 is from writers Chris Jury and Dan Jury. The artists are Adhitya Zulkarnaen and Pam Siega. It tells the story of a research facility in 1975 that is trying to establish a power source but happens to come across time travelers who are a part of a future war.
The issue starts slow which does not do it favors. The writers want to throw the reader into the deep end of the world they’ve created but failed to give them some basic points to get acquainted with the characters and the premise. It wasn’t until halfway in the issue that...

Jason-Isaacs-in-Case-Histories
Within the crowded field of British detective shows, Case Histories truly stands out as one of the very best contemporary dramas in recent years. It’s not as gloomy as Vera, not as gory as Luther, and it lacks the frivolity of Midsomer Murders. What it does offer is a realistic central character played brilliantly by Harry Potter bad-guy Jason Isaacs. Jackson Brodie (Isaacs) is broody but he’s positively jovial when compared with Wallander. He’s something of a lady’s man and could be described as Scotland’s answer to Jim Bergerac only with a penchant for cigarettes rather than booze. Brodie has his demons and he’s not immune to the odd cock-up but he’s a good guy at heart and he usually unravels the perplexing mysteries that land in his lap.
Case Histories ran for two seasons each comprised of three feature length mysteries.

A reboot of BBC antique comedy Lovejoy could be in the works.
Radio Times reports that Tony Jordan, who created Hustle and Life on Mars, is in the early stages of developing the remake.
It's believed that Jordan is using the original Lovejoy novels as source material and that the series, if picked up, is likely to be a co-production with his company Red Planet Pictures.
Lovejoy aired on BBC One for six series between 1986 and 1994. It starred Ian McShane as the swindling antiques dealer.
Downton Abbey's Phyllis Logan appeared as love interest Lady Jane, while Dudley Sutton played Lovejoy's friend Tinker and Chris Jury his assistant Eric Catchpole.
Malcolm Tierney, who died at the age of 75 in 2014, played rival antiques dealer Charlie Gimbert.

Line of Duty season two
Golden Globe winner Ian McShane is well known to TV fans on both sides of the ocean. He’s successfully created a niche for himself as a fiendish villain in shows such as Pillars of the Earth, Deadwood, and let’s not forget his memorable performance as Judas in Jesus of Nazareth. However, for anyone in England over the age of 35, the first thing that comes to mind when you say “Ian McShane,” is Lovejoy. The popular BBC series debuted in 1986 and was arguably the first real dramedy on British TV. Despite initial ratings success, it along with other shoes — including Doctor Who — was put on hiatus and fans had to wait five years for the second season of the show. On 2 September, Lovejoy season two comes to the U.S. on DVD, while seasons one and two are available on Acorn TV.
