Ever since it was initially launched back in 2017, Young Sheldon was something much more than just The Big Bang Theory prequel about Sheldon Cooper’s earlier years in his family house in Texas. The show turned out into a beacon of hope for those who had tried to uncover numerous mysteries of the titular character’s personality during all the time that the original show aired on TV, but eventually never found the answers.
Though Young Sheldon still had another aim prioritized rather than giving fans answers to all of their questions, some of those big mysteries indeed were clarified with the prequel’s arrival as the show finally revealed the reason for Sheldon’s big and previously inexplicable fear.

While The Big Bang Theory remains one of the most popular sitcoms to date, it was released in 2007 and has not aged particularly well. With some moments more obvious than others, the show had its fair share of jokes that wouldn't make the cut in 2024, and rightfully so.
If you want to take a trip down memory lane and recall The Big Bang Theory's most devastating moments, here are the top-10 hand-picked by redditors, that no one can watch today without cringing.
Amy Ruining Bernadette’s Photoshoot
Even though Amy tried to excuse her behavior with a lack of respect for other women in science, she robbed Bernadette of her opportunity simply because she was jealous. She's always been obsessed with being popular and seeking attention in every situation, so if she got the cover, she wouldn't bat an eye.

Having just finished its several-year-long run a couple of weeks ago, The Big Bang Theory’s prequel Young Sheldon had all of its seasons’ focus on Sheldon Cooper’s life in Texas as a child and then as a teenager enlarging the iconic character’s world for curious fans around the world.
Those who have been the original show’s lovers ever since it premiered back in 2007 surely had a list of things they needed more details about before Young Sheldon finally hit the screens, and many of those things had something to do with Sheldon’s quirky personality.
Apart from all of his other peculiar habits, the character’s catchphrase “Bazinga!” is introduced in The Big Bang Theory at a very random moment with no real explanation for fans, but in this case Young Sheldon did make it all clear.

The transition from “The Big Bang Theory” to “Young Sheldon” has brought answers to several burning questions. The finale of “The Big Bang Theory” left fans scratching their heads about various character arcs and developments. Luckily, “Young Sheldon” steps in to clear up some mysteries. Penny’s Newfound Clarity on Motherhood The finale of Young Sheldon gave us a surprising update: Penny babysitting Sheldon’s daughter. This flashforward revealed that Penny genuinely embraced the idea of motherhood, despite her reluctance in “The Big Bang Theory.” During adult Sheldon and Amy’s conversation, it is evident that they still remain friends with Penny. Throughout its TV run of more than ten years, The Big Bang Theory has always had its main storyline revolving not only around Sheldon and Leonard, but also around Penny who made her first appearance in the first season’s episode 1 as the leading characters’ neighbor and later on became Leonard’s girlfriend and wife.
Having started as the show’s additional character that mostly served for highlighting Sheldon and Leonard’s nerdiness, Penny eventually turned into another lead with her own story and personal development that was actually never made in a right way.
Despite her essential role that was equally important as her quirky friends’ ones, Penny was still brutally snubbed by The Big Bang Theory’s creators when it came to her personal background.

Initially launched back in 2017 as The Big Bang Theory prequel, Young Sheldon came as a great opportunity to finally unveil all those mysteries about Sheldon Cooper’s quirky personality that have been torturing the original show fans for years.
Among the most popular demands viewers had for the prequel show to dwell on, Sheldon’s clothing style has probably always been the one to force everyone into creating never-ending theories while waiting for Young Sheldon to become specific about it.
As the show never quite made it completely clear, The Big Bang Theory fans quickly took to social media to share their thoughts, and some of them might have come close to the truth that has something to do with the character’s sorrowful past.

Throughout its seven-season run that ended several weeks ago, The Big Bang Theory’s prequel Young Sheldon has always been the show the return of which was highly anticipated, though it still left some fans disappointed by the series’ disregard for what The Big Bang Theory had once talked about.
For years that Young Sheldon was aired on TV, the original show’s long-standing lovers have been repeatedly pointing out the prequel’s plot holes for which not a single explanation could ever work out. Among all the inconsistencies that have somehow distorted Sheldon Cooper’s life story, one seems especially weird if we take into account the character’s quirky, yet meticulous personality.
In Young Sheldon’s episode 16 of season 3, the titular character goes all the way from Texas to visit CalTech, the university where he later on will study and work, for Stephen Hawking’s lecture. Given that...

Young Sheldon officially wrapped it all up with its definite ending several weeks ago, giving a bittersweet conclusion not only to its titular character who later on left his family house for college, but also to the original show’s characters who seem to be doing just fine years after The Big Bang Theory’s finale.
The update on the original characters was given by Sheldon Cooper’s adult version in the final scene where Jim Parsons reprised his iconic role, but his comment about one of his friends’ appears to be quite ambiguous, though still positive in only one aspect.
In the finale of Young Sheldon, Jim Parsons’ Sheldon mentions Penny, his friend and Leonard’s wife, stating that he and his wife Amy shouldn’t have let Penny babysit their unnamed daughter who, having grown up, revealed her intention to take acting classes.

Some fans, however, prefer these cringeworthy episodes to the entire show, because it's the only time they can let go of every serious thought they had during the day and dive into the world of bizarre humor and surreal stories with their beloved characters.
So here are the most cringeworthy The Big Bang Theory episodes we could only think of.
1. The Misinterpretation Agitation
There was no way this list could have started with any other episode. The central story revolves around Penny as she becomes the stalking target without even having a clue. The thing is, at the time of the episode, Penny...

Having come to its definite end several weeks ago, Young Sheldon has been CBS’ constant guest with its seven seasons exploring Sheldon Cooper’s earlier life in his family house in Texas, something that The Big Bang Theory fans have been dreaming of for quite a long time before the prequel finally arrived.
The original show has repeatedly proved that Sheldon’s quirkiness didn’t come just out of nowhere and there must have been something in his childhood that eventually had such an impact on him in his adult life.
With that in mind, Young Sheldon indeed unveiled a lot about the character’s early years that did form his eccentric identity, though the show’s initial idea never made it to the screen, and seems like it was a huge relief for everyone.

It's easy to blame spin-offs for trying to cash in on popular franchises. The worst of them rely too much on what came before and offer nothing of their own. But the best of them find an unusual perspective, create new circumstances for familiar characters, or invent new characters for a familiar universe.
The writers of Young Sheldon deliberately avoided trying to replicate the style of their predecessor, instead offering a warm, nostalgic show about a child prodigy who is not always understood by those around him.
George Sr. Had Been Young Sheldon's Biggest Problem All Along
However, one fan complaint has lived with this undoubtedly outstanding series for all seven seasons – the personality of Sheldon's father, George Sr.
In the early seasons of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon Cooper regularly mentioned the difficult trials that befell him in his childhood. There are also numerous references to Sheldon's father being a drinker.

Following The Big Bang Theory’s immense success, Young Sheldon went back to the past exploring Sheldon Cooper’s earlier years in his family house in Texas before he moved to California for better perspectives and met his best friend Leonard there.
With a significant time jump that the prequel makes, it was hardly possible to ever bring some of the original characters to Young Sheldon, yet the show proved the contrary by reuniting Sheldon’s younger and adult versions in the finale. However, the prequel also featured another major character that was seen in The Big Bang Theory, and this time it is indeed very hard to believe.
For those who were left heartbroken after Young Sheldon’s ending and opted for rewatching the original show to fill the void, one actor in a cameo role may appear to be pretty much familiar. Season 5 episode 11 introduces Jimmy Speckerman, a...

When a show has an ensemble cast, it’s not that easy of a task to find the one character you will commit to. There are storylines in which you love some of them a little more, and then everything changes, and the sweetheart becomes the most annoying person, or on the contrary, the ones who are brought to the picture to make you frustrated turn into the characters you learn to love.
In The Big Bang Theory there are many annoying characters. But that doesn’t stop us from loving them. The main gang, which includes Leonard, Sheldon, Raj, Howard, and Penny, is always at the center of attention, and from episode to episode the level of annoyance with them changes.
The same goes about all the secondary characters. For example, one of the show’s recurring characters, Stuart, is an A-okay man when we first meet him, but...

Young Sheldon’s ending had everyone in tears of nostalgia when it hit CBS a couple of weeks ago, and though the show itself was dwelling on Sheldon Cooper’s earlier years in Texas, the finale still gave a little sneak peek into how the things are for The Big Bang Theory’s lead characters some time after the original series’ end.
Reuniting young and adult versions of Sheldon, portrayed by Iain Armitage and Jim Parsons, the prequel indeed had a unique opportunity to right the biggest wrong about one of the original characters, but actually made it all even worse.

Every time the show comes to an end, fans wait for it to address some of the seemingly long-forgotten, but very important, storylines. After all, even a small callback to past events can make or break the way loyal fans view the show. Young Sheldon was no exception.
Of course, as the show moved toward its finale, fans lost hope that some of the dropped storylines would make a comeback. No one really expected McKenna Grace's Paige to appear on the show, but thought there might be a way to address her, leaving an easter egg for fans to enjoy. Young Sheldon’s final season brought a lot of completely new events into young Sheldon Cooper’s life, securing his independent future after leaving for California and also contributing to The Big Bang Theory’s storyline. Recounting Sheldon’s earlier years as a child and then a teenager, the show took a much closer look at all the atmosphere he grew up in, highlighting some major twists that will later on find their explanation in the words and actions of The Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon.
Though the original show doesn’t really dwell on the character’s relationships with his family and especially with his mother, since Sheldon has lost his father at a young age, The Big Bang Theory still proves that the seemingly aloof quirky character has in fact pretty much deep feelings that he was just trying to conceal, and Young Sheldon serves as yet another proof for it.

When The Big Bang Theory first aired, its target audience was about the same age as the main characters. Ten seasons passed, the fans of the show have matured along with the characters. The writers of Tbbt, Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, along with the CBS network, decided that the audience would watch the spin-off about Sheldon's childhood in Texas in the 1980s along with the main show. And the audience did watch.
In the last episode of Young Sheldon, the main character goes to Caltech. One of the teachers asks him if he is lost, to which Sheldon replies: "No. I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be." You could say the same thing about the end of the show.

Young Sheldon’s seven-season-long television run is over after the show’s finale hit CBS a few weeks ago, and though The Big Bang Theory’s prequel got a relatively happy ending, it still turned out somewhat bittersweet. Many long-standing fans of the original show definitely saw it coming, but George Sr.’s tragic death in the final season’s episode 13 still shattered some hearts.
After all, Young Sheldon made it pretty clear that George had suffered a fatal heart attack, though one of the show’s actresses recently took to the social media to reveal her own version of why the series let the character go.

While Robert Downey Jr. is known for his portrayal of Iron Man in the MCU, he also portrayed Sherlock Holmes in Guy Ritchie’s adaptation of the popular novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The actor reprised his role in the 2011 sequel Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and was also set to appear in a threequel.
Amazon Prime Video announced recently that a series based on Andy Lane’s Young Sherlock Holmes novels would be in development with Guy Ritchie directing. Throughout the years of its television run that ended just a couple of weeks ago, The Big Bang Theory’s prequel Young Sheldon has repeatedly proved to be somewhat ignorant of the original show’s storyline. Fans have constantly pointed out some insignificant or even quite big inconsistencies that Young Sheldon demonstrated with seemingly no notice from its creators.
Now that the prequel’s story is over and all the major plot holes got a pretty decent explanation in the finale, one particular detail from Sheldon’s life still seems like a mystery to be resolved. Luckily, The Big Bang Theory fans already did it.
In the original show, not so many details about Sheldon Cooper’s previous life in Texas emerge, though fans still caught some little pieces of information that would later add to everything we saw in Young Sheldon. The Big Bang Theory once stated that Sheldon...

Though The Big Bang Theory’s long-standing fans definitely saw it coming, George’s death in Young Sheldon’s final season still hit everyone hard. Season 7 episode 13, titled Funeral, captures every member of George’s family gathering in a church to say the last goodbye to the Coopers’ patriarch.
The sequence features all the main characters and some guests, including one lady looking suspiciously resembling George, though it’s still not what the show’s fans might have thought. With everyone in the church mourning the deceased character, only one person seems to be missing, and this is what makes George’s storyline even more heartbreaking.
Several times during their run, both The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon made it clear that George had a sister named Ruth. Though she never made any physical appearance in either of the shows, Ruth’s name is brought up by Sheldon in...

Even though The Big Bang Theory fans have already been proven wrong about the show's spinoff by the explosive success of Young Sheldon, there are still some people who are unsure if the show needs another spinoff. However, the main reason for doubt has nothing to do with the main characters.
Though everyone loves Montana Jordan as Georgie Cooper, and the idea of a spinoff focusing on his journey to build his tire empire has been cultivated by fans for years, people don't think the spinoff will be successful without the entire Cooper family in it. While it has been previously reported that only Mandy's parents will appear, that can easily be changed.
Will Missy Appear in the New Young Sheldon Spinoff?
So far, the list of actors who will definitely appear in Georgie and Mandy's first marriage isn't long. Of course, Montana Jordan and Emily Osment will return as Georgie and Mandy,...

It’s no secret that Young Sheldon enjoys weaving clever references to The Big Bang Theory. However, one particular line delivered by Sheldon in the series finale has sparked wild theories among fans. Specifically, Sheldon mentions that they perhaps shouldn’t have let Penny babysit, leading some viewers to jump to conclusions regarding Leonard’s fate. Why Leonard Doesn’t Need to be Dead The most straightforward interpretation of the line doesn’t require Leonard’s death at all. There are countless reasons why Penny might have been referenced without Leonard being mentioned. For instance, Leonard could simply have been unavailable at the time, busy with...

Young Sheldon’s final season that ended its run earlier in May turned out to be a whole emotional rollercoaster for both characters and viewers. Though The Big Bang Theory’s long-standing fans have always seen it coming, the death of Sheldon’s father George in the 12th episode titled A New Home and a Traditional Texas Torture still surely shattered a couple of hearts.
The next episode dedicated entirely to George’s funeral wasn’t any easier, but some of the most shrewd viewers still made a notice of a very unexpected character, and though the whole scene wasn’t funny at all, the unusual guest gave everyone a really heartwarming moment.
Since the seventh season’s episode 12 hit the fans hard with George’s death after a fatal heart attack, Young Sheldon’s leading actor Iain Armitage has been constantly tortured with just one constant question about how...

Even the TV shows that ended years ago can still bring joy to many people. Those fans who watched the entire show episode after episode can find a lot of comfort in rewatching it and feeding off the sense of nostalgia that comes with it. This is definitely the case for fans of The Big Bang Theory.
Although the show was good overall, there were some episodes throughout its 12-season run that hit harder than others. And if you are looking for comfort, the best episodes to re-watch are the 10 listed below.
The Work Song Nanocluster (S2E18)
Any time Sheldon is under the influence of any substance, whether it's alcohol or simple caffeine, it's always a blast to watch. Poor Penny and her business, on the other hand, weren't expecting such a strong Sheldon presence, which makes their interactions that much funnier than usual. Still, they made a great team!

If there's one character whose future after young Sheldon is the most intriguing, it's the eldest Cooper son, Georgie. Though he's currently married to Mandy, raising their beautiful daughter, and ready to move on to the next chapter of their lives in a spinoff, the happiness won't last.
The show about Mandy and Georgie is called "First Marriage" for a reason: According to The Big Bang Theory, Georgie was married at least twice, and both times to different people, as both of his wives congratulated Sheldon on his Nobel Prize. So what happens to Mandy and Georgie? And who is his second wife?
What Happened to Georgie Cooper?
In addition to becoming the king of the Texas tire empire, Georgie had some ups and downs in his personal life. Even though viewers didn't learn much from The Big Bang Theory, and Young Sheldon and its spinoff don't have to follow the canon to the letter,...

Jim Parsons recently said goodbye to Sheldon Cooper for a second time as Young Sheldon aired its series finale on May 16, but he isn’t entirely closing the door on the beloved character. Speaking with E! Young Sheldon came to its definite end around two weeks ago, giving viewers a double finale featuring both versions of the titular character.
While Sheldon Cooper’s younger version was shown saying goodbye to his teen years and stepping into adult life, his more mature self, portrayed by The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons, also proved that he’d been in a much better position in life ever since the original show left all the characters back in 2019.
Though it surely was a great satisfaction for The Big Bang Theory’s fans to see adult Sheldon with such a big update, another major character from the original series doesn’t appear to be that happy.

Creating a spinoff of a spinoff has to be a testament to the success of the original series. Although Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage is by far the most distant show from The Big Bang Theory, it still coexists in the same universe, and fans expect the few connections and events mentioned in the show to be maintained.
Those unfamiliar with The Big Bang Theory may be confused by the show's title. While people expected the spinoff to revolve around Georgie and Mandy, the wording of the title makes it seem as if the couple will eventually break up.
What does ‘first marriage’ mean? Are Georgie and Mandy in danger of divorce? Here's what we know about their story.

Some actors are just born to play specific roles and seeing them portray a range of different characters not only looks startling but appalling. Seeing Jim Parsons playing a role other than Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory gives a similar feeling. It isn’t that he has been typecast or put into a box, but seeing how perfectly the actor essayed the role of the genius physicist, it is hard to imagine him as anyone other than Sheldon.

How the Role Became Easier Over Time Iain Armitage has grown immensely throughout his time playing Sheldon Cooper. One of the best things about well-done sitcoms is the fact that you never get tired of rewatching them, even if the show is 12 seasons long. For example, we can’t imagine saying “enough” when it comes to The Big Bang Theory, because every time you binge the show you laugh like it’s your first time and cringe as well.
The Big Bang Theory is an ensemble cast show with many main characters. And while we care deeply for them, the huge number of side characters also hold a special place in our hearts.
Some of these characters we hate, but some of them we wish had stuck around a little longer. The case for the second point is Leonard's short-term girlfriend Stephanie.

As Young Sheldon fans expected, George Cooper died in the penultimate episode of the CBS comedy that wrapped for good on May 16.
What they didn’t expect was that Lance Barber, who’s played Sheldon’s lovable pop George, would appear twice at his character’s own funeral: first as a corpse in the coffin and second, as a grieving woman inside the chapel.
A spokesperson for the comedy confirmed what eagle eye fans had already noticed: that was, indeed, Barber rocking a silver wig, off-white glasses and a wine-colored dress in the otherwise somber scene. It was a blink-and-you’ll-miss it appearance; Barber appeared in the back of the chapel while Georgie (Montana Jordan) was delivering his eulogy.
The spokesperson for the show told Deadline that Barber “surprised everyone and showed up like that.”

Seems like it’s a definite wrap for Sheldon Cooper’s life story after Young Sheldon’s finale that aired last week. The prequel that had a 7-season-long run recounting Sheldon’s earlier years in Texas before he moved to California reintroduced Jim Parsons as the beloved character’s adult version, proving that he’s already far from being the same Sheldon fans have always known.

Remember when HBO licensed those originals to Netflix last year?
Well, it’s finally time to see if the move paid off for Netflix, as the streamer just released another round of data that encapsulates all viewing on the platform from July to December 2023. That includes shows like Insecure, Band of Brothers, The Pacific and the rest of the HBO originals that landed on Netflix last July.
So, how did they do?
It looks like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was the star of the show, as Ballers tallied 33.5M views across all five seasons — by far the highest of the bunch. Season 1 came in No. 139 on the overall list with just under 11M views alone. Considering the list includes thousands of titles, that’s pretty good.

Insecure generated the second-highest total of 14.4M views.

The Big Bang Theory’s prequel Young Sheldon is now officially over after seven seasons of exploring Sheldon Cooper’s earlier years in Texas, and fans are probably still not over that sweet reunion that everyone was expecting to see in the finale. The show got Sheldon’s original actor Jim Parsons back to the screen, proving that he’s in a good place in life, finishing his own memoir that the character has been narrating all along.
With all the benefits that the decision to conclude the series in this way eventually brought, Parsons himself initially didn’t see that much of a potential for such an ending, but his change of mind actually righted all the wrongs the show has ever had.
Prior to the release of Young Sheldon’s final episode that aired on May 16, the actor revealed that he’d had second thoughts about reprising his role in the ending scene.
