Who could forget that iconic scene from American Pie? That movie defined a new generation, and Jim Levenstein is how Jason Biggs got a huge break in Hollywood. The actor first began his journey in the industry at the age of five, appearing in several commercials. However, his first real part was in a short-lived Fox series called Drexell’s Class. Biggs’ roles only got bigger once he officially received his Screen Actors Guild at the age of 10. He mainly starred in television roles like As the World Turns. The show saw the actor receive a nomination for Best Younger...

Have you ever read Jason Biggs' Twitter feed? For someone in the public eye -- you know, someone who has a publicist -- it's kind of insane.
In other words: Yep, that's Jason Bigs unfiltered. He may type out the "c-word" while watching an episode of "The Bachelor," or may start a Twitter feud with, well, just about anyone. Put it this way: you're not going to read any tweets from Biggs about what he ate for breakfast. Because people who do tweet about that can, as Biggs puts it, "Go f--- yourself. That's so boring." Yes, Jason Biggs likes to say what's on his mind, which makes my job as someone interviewing Biggs about his new movie, "American Reunion," that much easier. (Also, Jason Biggs likes to cuss.)

News and notes from the first full day of the upfronts:
- Get ready for a 21st-century incarnation of "The Flintstones," by way of "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane. The new take on the classic cartoon will go in for the same modern-prehistoric humor as the old show did; Dan Palladino ("Gilmore Girls") and Kara Vallow ("Family Guy") will executive produce it with MacFarlane. Production is set to begin in the fall, but it won't be on the air until 2013.
- The rumored prime-time newsmagazine fronted by NBC anchor Brian Williams is now reality. It doesn't have a title or an airdate yet, but the network says it will debut sometime in the fall. Williams briefly described his notion for the show at NBC's presentation, saying it would focus on longer-form stories that don't currently have an outlet.

Zap2it has at its disposal a nifty project someone put together of the state of TV coast to coast. Which show represents each of the 50 states?
Now, not every state has a show. And as a citizen of one of those states, we'd like to say that Iowa has had two shows set there ("Double Trouble," "Drexell's Class") plus "Coach," which was about the University of Iowa. We're sure the citizens of Mississippi, Alabama, Nebraska, Wyoming, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Delaware, West Virginia and New Hampshire can chime in as well in the comments.
But we can look past those states being left out in order to enjoy the project itself. Do you like the show chosen to represent your state? Do you wish it was something else? We think Washington should've gone with "Twin Peaks" but overall, we don't really have any objections.
A bigger version of the map can be seen here.

Los Angeles County coroner's office say anemia and prescription drugs also played role in death of 8 Mile actor
The actor Brittany Murphy died from pneumonia but anemia and prescription drugs also played a role, coroner's officials said today.
The primary cause of the death was community acquired pneumonia, with contributing factors of iron deficiency anemia and "multiple drug intoxication", the Los Angeles County coroner's office, which ruled the death accidental, said.
Craig Harvey, a coroner's office spokesman, declined to specify what types of drugs had been involved in Murphy's death, but said all were prescription drugs.
Details of the drugs the actor, who starred in Clueless and 8 Mile, had in her system will be released when a complete report is compiled in several weeks.
Murphy, 32, died on 20 December after collapsing at her home in Hollywood Hills.
Her mother and husband said she did not abuse prescription drugs or have an eating disorder.

As you all know, we lost Brittany Murphy yesterday at the all-too-young age of 32.
She was never my favorite actress, nor my least favorite. There were roles that I loved, and roles that I loathed. But her presence in Hollywood was always a joy, mainly because I matured with Murphy, born the same year as myself. She didn't start in the biz until 1991 with her first role in Murphy Brown, so I didn't grow up with her, but she was one of the few who charmed me in my high school youth and never faded away.
Perhaps I spotted her appearances on Kids Incorporated or Parker Lewis Can't Lose. Or, while I never followed Drexell's Class, maybe I saw a peek of her as Brenda Drexell. But in my memories, she has always been Molly Morgan of 1993's Almost Home -- the very short-lived Torkelsons spin-off. Murphy was spunky and charming,...

From the age of five she was determined to be a Hollywood star
It has become something of a rite of passage for any young actress fresh on the Hollywood scene to be pencilled in to play Janis Joplin. Brittany Murphy, who has died unexpectedly aged 32, was one of several performers over the years who were attached to one Joplin biopic or another.
In this case, it was Piece of My Heart, for which Murphy auditioned successfully in 1999, but which was never made. It certainly was not much of a stretch to imagine her evoking the gusto and vulnerability required for that part.
Murphy was no run-of-the-mill star. In her first substantial role, as a greenhorn mentored by the coolest girl in school in the 1995 hit Clueless, she proved herself an inventive exponent of comedy. She demonstrated her versatility in dramatically intense films such as Girl, Interrupted and 8 Mile. She...

Actress Brittany Murphy passed away Sunday at the age of 32. Perhaps best known for her work in '8 Mile,' 'Girl, Interrupted,' and 'Clueless,' Murphy was a longtime industry veteran with dozens of credits. She first appeared on TV shows like "Kids Incorporated," "Drexell's Class," and "Parker Lewis Can't Lose," later starring on the big screen, appearing alongside actors including Angelina Jolie, Michael Douglas and Ashton Kutcher. Her film credits in addition to those mentioned above include 'Sin City,' 'Little Black Book,' 'Just Married," "Don't Say a Word,' 'Riding in Cars with Boys,' 'Uptown Girls,' and 'Sidewalks of New York.' Multiple sites, including TMZ, are now reporting that actress Brittany Murphy, seen most recently in Across the Hall, died this morning at the age of 32 in Los Angeles. The reports indicate that she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived. No other information is known about her death, besides that it occurred at the home of her husband Simon Monjack this morning at around 8Am. This is incredibly tragic especially considering she was still a young budding actress with quite a bit of potential. While she wasn't the most popular actress, she will certainly be remember for her many great appearances in many films. Murphy began her acting career at the age of 14 starring on "Drexell's Class". She has appeared in films like Clueless, Drive, Falling Sky, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Girl Interrupted, Cherry Falls, Don't Say a Word, Riding in Cars with Boys, 8 Mile, Uptown ...

Jason Biggs is perhaps best known for playing geeky Jim Levenstein, who does something naughty with an apple pie in the first of the American Pie films. No doubt Biggs has suffered a tad from typecasting as a result. Worse, he good-naturedly asserts," some people confuse me with the character I play. But those movies are the best thing that ever happened. They've given me freedom. I don't want anyone to misconstrue that. Have I not gotten parts because of what I've done? Absolutely! You get some, you lose some. It's called a career. I hope to have a career. I hope to have longevity. Do I want to diversify? Sure. And I think I have. But I won't turn into a Nic Cage overnight. If there is a certain Jason Biggs character that I do, and if that has kept me in a certain kind of world for most of my career,...
