The creator of the show based the pizza place on the pizza place he worked at while a student at Tufts University. The pizza place is still in operation in Teele Square, Somerville, and is called Broadway Eatery.
While in Boston to promote Van Wilder (2002), Ryan Reynolds tried to locate Beacon Street Pizza, not realizing that it was fictional.
A significant amount of secondary characters introduced in season one disappear by season two including Melissa (Pete's girlfriend), Bill (the owner of Beacon Street Pizza), and Mr. Bauer (the eccentric regular at the pizza place). Eventually, by season three, the premise of the pizza place was completely abandoned and the show became, simply titled, "Two Guys and a Girl".
The theme from season one is an instrumental version of the song "Blister in the Sun".
In the episode where Pete and Berg try to get tickets in the Luxury Box at the football game, at the end of that episode Pete calls Berg "Inmate 0024601". 24601 is the prisoner number of Jean Valjean from Victor Hugo's novel "Les Miserables".
