The blue flu part 2, concluding the third season
The conclusion of "Strike" (which concluded the third season) has only Barney, Levitt, and Luger working in the squad room, with Lonna Lane (Peggy Pope) having identified her 'pervert' assailant as John Blomquist (Joe George, second of two), and liquor store robber Charlie Prevette (Peter Hobbs) still railing against scabs from his cell. The naïve and lonely Lonna finds herself desperately willing to give the astonished Blomquist another chance. All the others show up the following morning to clear the air about everything (Prevette: "what the hell are youse doin' back!"). Wojo has a few choice words about his running feud with the overbearing Harris (Dietrich: "I thought he meant me, until he said the clothing part!"). Nick speaks out against the jokes about his coffee (Barney: "who's joking?" Yemana: "see? see?"). He reminds Barney and Dietrich of what he said as they partake of the morning java, putting on a happy front (Yemana: "very funny!"). Fish is absent for the fourth time in the season's last five episodes, returning on just three occasions
