While undercover, Harris calls the precinct from a Stuckey's in Maryland to report in. Stuckey's is a chain of roadside convenience stores found mostly along Interstate and other major U.S. highways. The stores generally have snack bars, gasoline and souvenirs. The heyday for Stuckey's was in the three decades following World War II. At the time of this episode there were about 350 Stuckey's locations from coast to coast. In 2021 there were only 65 locations left, mostly from the southeastern U.S. to Missouri. Stuckey's is noted for its pecan logs, which is why Wojo asks Harris to bring him one.
Royce cites his need to raise money for his Presidential campaign because he doesn't have "a rock star girlfriend" nor "prematurely orange hair". These were references to two 1980 Presidential candidates: Governor Jerry Brown was seeing singer Linda Ronstadt, who played concerts to fund raise for him; and Ronald Reagan, about whom former President Gerald Ford said, "Ronald Reagan doesn't dye his hair. He's just prematurely orange."
