- TriviaKelsey Grammer and Joe Mantegna both play long-running recurring characters on The Simpsons (1989). Grammer plays Sideshow Bob, Bart's psychotic archenemy, and Mantegna plays resident Springfield mob boss Fat Tony. As an amusing in-joke to "Frasier", David Hyde Pierce and John Mahoney have also appeared on the show as Cecil and Bob Terwilliger, Sr. - Sideshow Bob's brother and father, respectively.
- GoofsMartin says he has been trying to solve the murder of a prostitute that happened 20 years earlier. Later he says the murder occurred when Frasier was 12 years old. Frasier would have been much older than that at the time.
- Crazy creditsWhen the title "Frasier" (in blue letters) and the usual silhouette of Seattle are on screen, a red light blinks at the highest point of the Space Needle.

I Hate Frasier Crane
Perhaps if I was being picky I'd say that this is a step down from the previous episodes in terms of quality, but its the first series of the show, there's a sense of them finding their feet, and there will be missteps along the way in that process.
This episode is certainly a darn sight better than much of what would appear in the shows latter years.
I love the final moments here, the heart that underpins all of the smart jokes along the way.
The writers were also so clever to keep the character of Frasier recognisable from how he was on 'Cheers', but also subtly different too.
Another good episode.
