What is Blanche doing with all that rent money?
Others have reviewed the main story about Rose's blind sister which was a great story, so i'm going to review the B story where the Girls hold a garage sale in order to purchase a new TV.
Dorothy mentions that they can't buy the new TV with the "household money" because that needs to go to repaving the driveway and getting a new roof.
Blanche owns the house and she's renting out rooms to Dorothy and Rose, so the rent money she's bringing in from that should be going towards her home upgrades, not as extra funds from her renters. Why are Dorothy and Rose paying "household money" on top of their rent?!
I'm not sure if Sophia is paying for her room or if Blanche is just allowing her to stay as a guest, but to make paying renters Dorothy and Rose chip in to upgrade her home over their regular rent seems pretty selfish.
In a previous episode Blanche even mentions how she had the foresight to marry money, so you have to wonder why she's even renting out 2 bedrooms in her home in the first place if she's well off. Maybe she's just greedy and loves other people's money?
