Sonny's older brother Buddy - a successful Alpha Male who always considered Sonny a pathetic little wimp - visits L. A. with his "frisky" fiancée, who ends up making a pass at Sonny.
This episode proves that the Sonny character cannot carry a whole episode and that he is better suited to B-stories. At least this one isn't as bad as the one with his 9-year-old son Arthur.
Speaking of B-stories, this one revolves around a raffle ticket and is poorly written. Everyone chips in for ONE ticket - but the prize is a luxury sports car. How are they all supposed to share it?? Maggie loses the ticket and the search is on as they tear apart the lounge looking for it. This is the only amusing scene in the episode and Nancy has all the good lines - we even hear her say "to hell with the customers", which rarely happened. She also tears a strip off Jan - the first time since last season, so we know resentment runs deep!
The producers loved to bring in alumna from SOAP. Too bad they couldn't have had Cathryn Damon or Katherine Helmond as rivals or relatives of Nancy at some point, or perhaps Diana Canova as Cassie's sister, etc.
I got the actress who plays Suzy confused with Anne Schedeen and Ann Dusenberry until I checked the IMDB credits.
SONGS: Sonny sings "What Kind of Fool Am I?".
