- TriviaRandy Gardner (born c. 1947) is the holder of the scientifically documented record for the longest period a human has intentionally gone without sleep not using stimulants of any kind. In 1964, Gardner, a high school student in San Diego, California, stayed awake for 264.4 hours (11 days 24 minutes).
- GoofsSomeone trying to break a world record would have people watching over them at all times to make sure they do not cheat, as Fred had multiple chances to do. Also, they wouldn't have just taken the words of someone, like the official from the world record society did with Bubba and Roger on their apparent record breaking things.
- Quotes
Bubba Bexley: [Stopping Fred from relaxing in his chair] That's the worst thing you can do is get comfortable. What you need to do is to be around things that make you jumpy, things that annoy you, things that make your skin crawl.
Fred G. Sanford: Well, what are you waiting for? Call Esther!

A world's record if Fred can stay awake
"I Dream of Choo Choo Rabinowitz" finds Fred again regaling future grandson Roger (Edward Crawford) with tall tales of his daring youth, such as playing for the Harlem Globetrotters, which Lamont doesn't buy: "when I was dribbling with the Globetrotters, you were slam dunking in your diapers!" Nervous about meeting Janet's teacher mother, awarded for a paper on problem children, Fred paces the living room during Bubba's favorite movie - The Giant Baboon Who Ate Rangoon at Noon in June with a Spoon ("will you shut up soon?"). Bubba suggests calamity for his grandchildren: "they got a grandmother who writes papers, and a grandfather who collects them!" The Guinness Book of World Records inspires Fred to try to break the record for staying awake held by Choo Choo Rabinowitz. Marlene Clark makes the third of six appearances as Janet, Leonard Stone had earlier appeared in "The Copper Caper," and Royce Wallace was a veteran of "Here Comes the Bride, There Goes the Bride."
