Olivia Newton-John’s publicist is speaking out against the snub during the In Memoriam segment of the 2022 Emmys.
The late actress featured in such TV series as “Sordid Lives: The Series”, “Bette”, “Murphy Brown” and “Ned and Stacey” but still wasn’t included in the tribute.
John Legend sang “Pieces” while the ceremony honoured stars such as Betty White, Bob Saget, Sidney Poitier, and James Caan.

Despite not featuring the late actress in the telecast, the Emmys did include her on the online In Memoriam page.

Kelly Rizzo has said her “heart broke all over again” while watching the Emmys 2022 pay tribute to her late husband, comedian Bob Saget.
The Full House star died in January of this year from accidental head trauma. He was 65.
During Monday (12 September) night’s awards show, the evening honoured Saget, Betty White, and Sidney Poitier, among others, in its In Memoriam section – which honours notable TV figures who have died since the previous year’s ceremony.
Reacting to the touching moment, Rizzo shared the Emmys clip on her Instagram story, writing: “I’ve been a wreck all day waiting for this. My heart broke all over again.
“But I know he’d be proud for this recognition. This is still so damn weird and surreal.”
The late comedian’s wife has previously been open on Instagram about her grieving process.

Fans were surprised by Olivia Newton-John and Norm Macdonald’s absence from the Emmys 2022’s In Memoriam segment.
The Australian actor and singer, best known for her leading role as Sandy in Grease, died in August of this year from breast cancer. She was 73.
While Newton-John was mostly a film actor, she appeared in a number of television shows, including Australian singing series Kommotion, 1993’s drama series Snowy River: The McGregor Saga, and the one-season 2008 show Sordid Lives: The Series.
Meanwhile, viewers were confused by Canadian comedian Norm Macdonald’s absence from the night’s tributes.
However, the Saturday Night Live alum passed away in 2021 and was honoured during last year’s award ceremony. This year he received three posthumous nominations for his Netflix special Nothing Special, which was partly why fans were shocked not to see him in the in memorial segment – unaware that he was celebrated last year.

The 2022 Emmys saw TV stars from around the world gather at the Microsft Theater in Los Angeles to celebrate the best in television.
While there were a handful of repeat champions and first-time winners during Monday (12 September) night’s ceremony, there were certainly a number of snubs and surprises as well.
Christina Ricci misses out to Julia Garner
After Julia Garner won her third Emmy for Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Ozark, fans were quick to suggest that Yellowjacket’s Christina Ricci was robbed of the category’s win.
Succession does well – but not as well as it could have
Meanwhile, Succession’s Matthew Macfadyen was a pleasant surprise, scoring his first Emmy win as Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. The British actor prevailed over co-stars Nicholas Braun and Kieran Culkin, The Morning Show’s Billy Crudup, and Squid Games’ Park Hae-soo.

Benny Medina, the TV producer and music manager whose clients include Jennifer Lopez and formerly Will Smith and Mariah Carey, will not be charged by the Los Angeles District Attorney in an alleged 2004 sexual assault.
The case was declined by the L.A. D.A.’s entertainment sexual assault task force Friday owing to the statue of limitations, according to the charge evaluation worksheet, and that the unnamed alleged victim recently died. No other information was given in the report.
This is a different incident from one that came to light in November, when Sordid Lives: The Series actor Jason Dottley claimed in a story published in The Advocate that Medina attempted to rape him in 2008 at the producer-manager’s Los Angeles mansion. Medina, through his lawyers, denied the allegation.

Chances are you've heard somebody rave about—or you yourself rave about—FX's Fargo miniseries. It's been nominated for numerous Emmys and did well in the ratings. It brought Billy Bob Thorton to TV and gave even more attention to Sherlock and Hobbit star Martin Freeman. It also gave us Allison Tolman. Tolman has four acting credits to her name on IMDb: A bit part on Prison Break, Sordid Lives: The Series, a short titled A Thousand Cocktails Later and Fargo. She's arguably the breakout star of Fargo and is in a crowded Emmy category that also includes Emmy and Oscar royalty: Kathy Bates, Julia Roberts, Ellen Burstyn, Angela Bassett and Frances Conroy. During a 2014 TCA Summer Press Tour...

Religion and homosexuality have always had a tough relationship and leave it to Del Shores to address the issue head-on in the film version of his renowned play, Southern Baptist Sissies.
Like the play, which has been staged countless times since Shores wrote it in 2000, the film takes a look at four young boys – all Southern Baptists – and their journeys into adulthood and sexuality, with their parents, God and the Church watching closely over them to stop any missteps. While Sissies is filled with great laughs and musical performances, there’s a heavy dramatic message here, too, that unfortunately still applies in 2014.
TheBacklot checked in with Shores to talk about making the film (including Willam Belli’s joining the cast) as well as getting some scoop on his gone-but-not-forgotten series, Sordid Lives, which, we found out, may not be gone after all!

Before he reprises his role as Saul Goodman in AMC's "Breaking Bad" spinoff, Bob Odenkirk is headed to "Fargo."
Odenkirk is among the latest additions to the cast of FX's limited series, which shares a title with the classic Coen brothers movie -- but not its plot. Glenn Howerton ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") has also joined the cast, which also includes Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Kate Walsh, Colin Hanks and Oliver Platt.
FX has also released a few details about the characters they and other members of the cast will play. Here's a rundown.
Thornton is Lorne Malvo, a "rootless, manipulative man" and the story's central bad guy.
Freeman is Lester Nygaard, a Minnesota insurance salesman who comes into contact with Lorne and has his life turned upside down.
Hanks is Gus Grimly, a Duluth, Minn., police officer and single father.

AFTRA has formally rejected a settlement offer by producer Stanley M. Brooks to actors who worked on the 2008 Logo TV series "Sordid Lives," and filed a petition in federal court in Los Angeles to confirm the results of their previous arbitration award against Brooks and his company Once Upon A Time.
The DGA, WGA West and the Iatse Motion Picture Industry Pension and Health Plan have also rejected the offer from Brooks to settle $1.6 million in mostly in unpaid residual payments, for $242,000, or about 16 cents on the dollar.
Brooks' company, as a result, will declare bankruptcy shortly, his attorney Kenneth Suddleson said Friday.
Suddleson noted that his client had told the actors and writer-director Del Shores, as well as the guilds, that he would have no other choice if his offer wasn't accepted.

The Hollywood talent guilds that have been trying to collect unpaid money and residuals from producer Stanley M. Brooks relating to Logo's "Sordid Lives: The Series" are poised to reject his offer to settle $1.6 million in debts for 16 cents on the dollar.
AFTRA, the DGA and the WGA West have made their decisions while the Iatse pension fund has yet to make its final decision. The guilds held a meeting Wednesday at AFTRA headquarters after polling their affected members.
The union members who attended meetings or spoke to their guild reps this week were apparently unanimous in rejecting the offer.
"I did not give less than 100% of my time or talent to this project and I will not accept to be paid anything less than 100% of what is owed me plus penalties," actress and AFTRA member Caroline Rhea said from Scotland, where she is performing in a play.

Executive producer Stanley M. Brooks of Once Upon a Time Films did not attend an AFTRA arbitration hearing Tuesday concerning more than $1 million owed from a 2008 Logo TV series but was represented by an attorney who acknowledged that there were unpaid residual payments, according to Del Shores, who was creator and director of the show in question, "Sordid Lives: The Series."
"I went to the AFTRA arbitration today to be a witness for AFTRA," Shores said in a statement to THR after the hearing. "I was not called upon to testify. My understanding is that Stan Brooks and Once Upon a Time Films agreed that they owed the actors of 'Sordid Lives: The Series' somewhere around $1.1 million in unpaid residuals and requested to meet with all three guilds involved -- WGA, DGA and AFTRA -- to try to come to a settlement for the artists owed, including myself.

Actress Rue McClanahan passed away yesterday following a stroke. She was 76 years old. A talented actress, she starred in numerous stage productions, movies, and TV shows. Viewers welcomed McClanahan into their home each week as she played memorable characters like sex-crazed Blanche from The Golden Girls and The Golden Palace, ditzy Vivian on Maude, fussy Aunt Fran on Mama's Family, and matriarch Peggy from Sordid Lives: The Series.
The actress was well-loved and respected by those she worked with. That's certainly evident in these reflections.
Marc Cherry, the creator of Desperate Housewives, got his start as a writer on The Golden Girls and wrote for The Golden Palace as well. He said, "When I worked on The Golden Girls, my favorite character to write for was Blanche Devereaux. In the hands of lesser actresses, Blanche's vanity and sexual appetite would have been off-putting.

Dustin Hoffman is leading tributes to late Golden Girls star Rue McClanahan, who died on Thursday morning after suffering a major stroke.
The actress' manager, Barbara Lawrence, confirmed the star died aged 76 at a hospital in New York, surrounded by her family, and messages of condolence have flooded in since the announcement.
Hoffman, who starred alongside McClanahan in the Broadway production of Jimmy Shine in 1968, says, "I have fond memories of working with Rue on Broadway in the '60s, and I am saddened by her passing. My thoughts are with her family and friends."
Will & Grace star Leslie Jordan praised McClanahan for her talent while they starred together in 2000's Sordid Lives: The Series, saying, "We did a tour of comedy from the show. She was in a wheelchair, I think after a hip replacement, and rather than stand-up comedy, she called it sit-down comedy. Honey, we wheeled her out... We said, 'You have 20 minutes.' Well, she had that audience on the palm of her hands... She could get down with the best of us. She was filthy. She will really be missed."
