It’s been five years since Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger was canceled by Freeform after two seasons, and the rumors of a series revival have started to gain momentum again. There was not much news on the series after it was scrapped, but an insider has provided an insight as to the fate of the show.
Oliva Holt and Aubrey Joseph in Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger / Marvel Television
Cloak & Dagger was well-received by fans after the first installment aired in 2018, but the sequel proved to be a hit-and-miss as viewership dropped tremendously. While this is not entirely the reason why it was never renewed, ratings play a big part in a franchise’s life.
The Latest Update On Rumored Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger Renewal
In a Discord Marvel Studios Q&a with Alex Perez via Cosmic Circus, the industry insider revealed news regarding the revival of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger.

A major deviation from the mixed bag of box-office successes and failures that of the post-Avengers: Endgame movies, Marvel Studios in collaboration with Sony, pulled off one of the biggest cinematic experiences with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. The 2021 flick not only revived the big screens after a pandemic slump, but also brought the three major live-action Spider-Man actors together on-screen, along with some of the most iconic villains from all of their movies.

The dynamic between Daredevil and Kingpin has been set in stone ever since they appeared together in the comics for the very first time. A superhero desperate to clean up his city and a mob boss who, oddly enough, has the same goal.

Their rivalry isn’t one of good and evil but lies in the moral complexities of their life missions. Where one wants to make good happen in their city by exterminating the bad, the other wants the bad to implode within itself, destroying everything horrid by getting his own hands dirty.

Holy Chimichangas! The Merc with a Mouth is Finally teaming up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine on the big screen in Deadpool & Wolverine. After Jackman retired as the character, we didn’t think we would get a chance to see this happen. Since the trailer reveal, we have seen this film firmly takes place in the current Multiverse Saga that the MCU is going through. With that, we’ll see our heroes cross over with a lot of surprises, and it appears to be the final send-off for much of the Fox/Marvel universe. Here is who we want to see show up during the film.

Daredevil: Born Again went through a major creative overhaul to bring it more in line with the Netflix series. While significant changes have been made, the main story is expected to remain the same.
Based on what we've pieced together, Wilson Fisk becomes New York City Mayor and clamps down on vigilantes. Meanwhile, The Punisher is hunting down corrupt cops, the vigilante White Tiger is on trial, and a serial killer, Muse, is causing chaos in Hell's Kitchen.
The Cosmic Circus recently shared some MCU updates, including plans for the villain in the upcoming Disney+ TV series.
"What I’ve heard about Muse is that his character will fan the flames of chaos in the show," the site teases. "He’ll be very sinister and deranged and will actually be an antagonist to not only Daredevil but also Kingpin, which will be an interesting dynamic to see play out."

For the past three films, Jon Watts has re-introduced the world to Spider-Man and Tom Holland‘s version of the Marvel character has become the most popular incarnation thus far. However, Watts has stepped down from directing dues in the upcoming sequel. There’s been plenty of rumors about who could step into that spot, but two names have consistently come up: Drew Goddard and Justin Lin. Both have high credentials. This is not the regular feud where female besties fall out over a guy they both like, nope. The fallout between the star of “The Mother” Jennifer Lopez, and her Bff Leah Remini is a different case in that the “Saved By The Bell” actress was trying to stop her bestie from repeating the same mistake twice.
Lopez and Remini met and became BFFs in 2004. Remini knew all about Lopez’ past relationship with “Batman” actor Ben Affleck.
The “Old School” actress knew how her bestie and Affleck first got engaged in 2002 only to break up few days to their wedding in 2003. It happened that several years later when the “Marry Me” actress and the “Goodwill Hunting” actor rekindled their love, Remini was completely against it.

It’s widely known now that the release of ‘Echo’ has established Netflix’s Defenders Saga as canon. The main motivation for this announcement was likely the upcoming release of ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ After extensive revisions, it has been decided that rather than being a reboot, the show will continue the story from Netflix’s previous series.
Given that the ‘Daredevil’ show was interconnected with almost all other shows, either directly or indirectly, the Defenders Saga must be considered canon. Among the most prominent shows and characters in the Defenders was ‘Jessica Jones,’ portrayed by Krysten Ritter.
Over the past few months, Ritter has hinted at her return as Jessica Jones multiple times. Initially, she shared a picture of herself with purple hair, reminiscent of the comic-accurate Jessica Jones during her time as Jewel. Later, she posted a photo wearing Jessica’s “Save Our Souls” shirt with a cryptic caption,...

It’s pretty common knowledge by now that the release of ‘Echo’ made Netflix’s Defenders Saga canon. To be fair, the biggest part that motivated the announcement was probably the upcoming release of ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ Following extensive reworks of the show, it’s been decided that it’s not going to be a reboot of the show, but rather more akin to the continuation of Netflix’s show.
Since ‘Daredevil’ show was connected to pretty much all other shows, in a direct or indirect way, the Defenders Saga needs to be canon. One of the most notable shows (and characters) within the Defenders was Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter.
In the last couple of months, Ritter teased her return as Jessica Jones several times, first, she posted a picture of herself with purple hair, like comic-accurate Jessica Jones while she was operating as Jewel, and then she...

If we were to only describe Tom Cruise with one single word, Daredevil would be the most apt choice. In his decades-long career spanning several action and thrilling flicks, there has hardly been a time when he has not put himself at risk. Whether it is a minor thing like hanging upside down to get his make-up done in Interview with the Vampire or jumping off a cliff multiple times to shoot one of the biggest stunts in cinema’s history, Cruise can do it all no matter how challenging or deadly it might be.

Yet, when it comes to keeping his co-stars safe and secure, the actor is just as caring as he is about getting his stunts done right to the tee. In an interview, his Rock of Ages co-star Julianne Hough revealed how Cruise took care of her during her injury on set.

While Christian Bale and Robert Pattinson may have their fair share of fans as Batman, for Jennifer Garner, there is no debate: Ben Affleck is the best superhero. The former couple first met on the set of Pearl Harbor, but it wasn’t until they starred in Daredevil together that their friendship blossomed into romance.
The chemistry between Affleck and Garner on screen was palpable, but it was their real-life connection that truly strengthened their status as a Hollywood power couple. From their fairytale wedding in 2005 to the birth of their three beautiful children, the ex-pair seemed to have it all.

This past weekend I attended the inaugural Milton Keynes Mega Comic Con put on by Striking Events. They have been growing in stature over the last couple of years with a wide selection of conventions, especially in the southeastern area. I have been following their growth on Instagram, so when a convention in my home town was announced of course I was very excited, the anticipation of having a home town convention again after all these years provided me with some anticipation. And ultimately, I can say that this was a very successful debut and I wish all involved continued success and growth.
The event took place in the Marshal Arena, on the site of Stadium Mk in Bletchley. So while it isn’t in Central Milton Keynes it is still a very accessible area with good road and rail links. For those wanting to make a day of visiting the convention,...

Jennifer Garner is one of the most prolific actresses working today. The actress has been a part of films such as 13 Going on 30, Juno, Pearl Harbor, Daredevil, and Elektra. While Garner has been taking it slow on the acting front, she recently seemed to have an emotional day as her eldest daughter, Violet Affleck, reportedly graduated high school.
The Family Switch star posted a thread of photos of her getting emotional while on the way to her daughter’s graduation. She even had a video of her crying on the plane and multiple images of her being proud of her daughter. Mike Colter starred in Marvel Television's Luke Cage from 2015 to 2018 and, like the rest of those heroes, his time as the character reached an abrupt end amid a wave of cancellations. That was Netflix's way of responding to the launch of Disney+, but after a couple of years of waiting, Marvel Studios is free to do what it likes with Power Man and company.
The Defenders TV shows are supposedly considered "canon" to the wider MCU and, with Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal reprising their roles as Daredevil and The Punisher in 2025's Born Again, could Colter eventually join them as Power Man?
The actor was always something of a divisive choice, and replacing the 47-year-old with a younger lead more in line with the comic book version of the character perhaps makes the most sense. For what it's worth, Colter remains open to playing Cage again, even...

Marvel has been coming up with a lot of new strategies to fix the mistakes they have made these past few years. One of the most creative solutions has to be the concept of Marvel Spotlight. Many fans were upset with how every single project in Marvel had a level of continuity to another, which made casual watching impossible.
Alaqua Cox in and as Echo [Credit: Marvel Studios]The franchise’s solution to this problem was to introduce an entirely new category of shows that are more focused on character arcs and are not too connected to past and future projects. While only two shows were known to be part of the category; Daredevil: Born Again and Echo, a new project has recently been announced.

Like any good superhero, Marvel Television has returned from the dead. The label is what the Marvel Netflix shows like "Daredevil" and the ABC ones like "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." were made under. Marvel Television was rendered defunct in 2019 after Marvel Studios absorbed it. Now, though its operations remain under the studio's purview, its name is being used again as part of an effort to more cleanly delineate the projects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Studios will continue to be the label of the films, while Marvel Television will headline upcoming Disney+ programs like "Agatha All Along" and "Daredevil: Born Again." Marvel Animation will cover projects like the excellent "X-Men '97" (which is not part of the MCU), while Marvel Spotlight is for small-scale projects like "Echo" (read our review here).

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe is not off to a good start this year, as the cinematic universe opened 2024 with a majestic flop ‘Madame Web.’ Luckily there are ample opportunities to turn this around since there are two notable releases awaiting us this year, ‘Kraven the Hunter,’ and the final installment of the ‘Venom’ franchise.
Yes, you’ve read that correctly, ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ is the final ‘Venom’ movie in the Ssu, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the end of Venom.
According to MyTimeToShineHello, notable scooper and leaker, Venom will appear in ‘Spider-Man 4’ but he won’t be the main villain.

If there’s anything superhero movies try to stay away from over the past years, it’s the exhibition of s*x scenes. The majority of comic book films don’t show this type of mature theme as it would affect the rating and viewership.
Avengers: Infinity War / Marvel Studios
This is the dilemma of renowned director Richard Linklater when it comes to creating movies. The lack of intimate scenes in superhero films has swiftly become the trend in Hollywood.

George Clooney has been many things in his career, an Oscar-winning actor and producer, a nominated director, and a humanitarian. However, one thing he could not pull off was being a successful Batman. While he was perfect on paper for the role of the vigilante, the odds were stacked against him as he was cast in Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin.
The film has received extremely negative reviews and led to the reboot of the franchise with Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins. However, the actor seems to have found one fan in Josh Brolin, who played Cable in Deadpool 2 and Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. He was reportedly also up for Batman in the Dceu, which Ben Affleck played.

The MCU boasts a vast array of over 30 movies, with over 10 currently in production or rumored. However, this extensive content library doesn’t even include live-action TV shows, which have significantly enriched the MCU universe.
This proliferation of content has posed challenges for fans, particularly newcomers or those wishing to skip certain projects.
It’s absurd that understanding one reference or a post-credit scene in a Disney+ show often requires viewing five movies. However, that was the studio’s initial goal. As financial pressures mounted, adjustments became necessary. A major shift was the launch of the Marvel Spotlight brand. These shows aim for a more character-driven, mature narrative, with higher ratings, purportedly eliminating the need for prior MCU viewing.
The debut Marvel Spotlight series, ‘Echo,’ while intended to stand alone, still heavily references ‘Daredevil’ and ‘Hawkeye.’ Yet, even without watching these, viewers could navigate ‘Echo’ with a bit of online research.

MCU has over 30 movies under its umbrella, and more than 10 are currently in production or rumored to be in production, this massive amount of content however does not include live-action TV shows, which significantly expanded MCU.
This was starting to become a problem for fans, especially fans that are just now trying to “get into” the MCU, or fans who simply wanted to avoid some projects, not particularly interested in characters that were carrying them.
It seems ridiculous that you have to watch 5 movies to understand one reference, or post-credit scene in a Disney+ show, but it was what the studio was aiming for. Then, the studio started losing money and some things had to change. One of the biggest changes in this context was the introduction of the Marvel Spotlight brand. Venom 2 teasing Spider-Man in the end, the symbiote in No Way Home could be the next story the MCU might go with. A recent report claims that a symbiote movie of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is in the works, which essentially means fans will get to see Spidey wearing the Venom suit.

This is not something new, Venom has been a long-time Spider-Man rival, and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 3 has been extensively featured. Also, Spider-Man wore the venom suit, albeit fighting it in the end. But Sony’s new Venom with Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock has been presented in a different light, and it would be interesting to see how the movie creatives fit the two franchises into one narrative with Spider-Man 4.

Although Daredevil: Born Again features the return of Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio as Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, the series originally didn’t have any other connection to the Netflix series. When Daredevil: Born Again was forced to shut down last summer due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and other executives grew displeased with the direction of the show and demanded a creative overhaul. According to Cox and D’Onofrio, that overhaul has brought “a lot” of crossover with the original show.
“It originally wasn’t going to be at all, but now it’s a lot,” D’Onofrio told TVInsider. Since the overhaul, we’ve seen other members of the original Daredevil series return, including Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and more. Charlie Cox’s return to the MCU was first announced during the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con. Daredevil: Born Again got an official confirmation at the event and the filming of the series began before the Hollywood strikes put a halt to the production. During the strikes, Marvel Studios reconsidered the creative direction and overhauled the entire series with new directors and showrunner.

Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny are teaming up in the streaming wars. Disney recently announced a partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery in a new streaming bundle that adds Disney+ and Hulu to the Max streaming service. This has also led to counter bundles from competitors Netflix, Comcast, and Apple. The lines are being drawn in this next phase of streaming.
However, one group is very unhappy with the recent announcement. The Parents Television and Media Council (PTC) has expressed its disdain for Disney associating itself with Max, a service that features multiple films and shows aimed at older audiences, such as Game of Thrones, with its violence and nudity.
In their eyes, they see this deal, and I am not exaggerating, as if Disney was adding pornography to the platform. While Hulu having movies like Poor Things (which is very graphic in terms of its sexual depictions on screen) was apparently okay,...

Since 2021, Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin of Crime have shown up in various MCU TV shows.
We've seen the Man Without Fear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Echo, with Wilson Fisk appearing in the latter and Hawkeye. However, these two haven't shared the screen since Daredevil wrapped up on Netflix six years ago.
That's set to change in Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again and, in an interview with TV Insider, D'Onofrio revealed that the revival originally featured no significant links to Daredevil.
"It originally wasn’t going to be at all, but now it’s a lot," the actor said of crossovers between the two. Cox chimed in to say there's now "a lot" of them, presumably meaning Foggy Nelson, Karen Page, Bullseye, and The Punisher were M.I.A. in the previous iteration of Born Again.

This X-Men ’97 article contains spoilers.
The first nine episodes of X-Men ‘97 teased a suitably epic finale to the X-Men: The Animated Series revival, and it’s safe to say that “Tolerance Is Extinction, Pt. 3” catapulted us into the already confirmed season 2 in style. Magneto and Professor Xavier put their differences aside, Bastion was bested, and a smorgasbord of cameos squeezed in everyone from Black Panther to Daredevil.
More than just teasing a potential Spider-Man: The Animated Series reboot, X-Men ‘97’s cliffhanger ending set up what’s next for Charles Xavier’s Gifted Youngsters. The team was divided across time, with Magneto, Xavier, Rogue, Nightcrawler, and Beast trapped in the year 3000 B.C., while Jean and Cyclops are marooned in 3960 A.D. But the ending doesn’t account for all of our spandex-clad heroes, and for those questioning where a certain de-clawed Canadian is, you aren’t alone.

Fans have been waiting for the Disney+ production, Daredevil: Born Again, since it was announced by Kevin Fiege during the 2022 San Diego Comic Con. Starring Charlie Cox as the titular character, the show is alleged to be a soft reboot of the Netflix series Daredevil, which ran for three seasons from 2015 to 2018.
