The new trailer for Universal’s romantic comedy “The List” teases Halston Sage and Christian Navarro finding love in a hopeless place – Los Angeles.
Abby (Sage) wasn’t expecting to add Jake (Navarro) to her dating itinerary, but after a rough breakup leads to her building a list of celebrity “free passes” and traveling to Los Angeles to court the rich and famous, his ambition and charm catches her off guard and flips her expectations of love on their head.
The romcom charts Abby’s personal reinvention when her fiancé cheats on her and sleeps with a celebrity on his “free pass” list. She and her best friend Chloe (Chrissie Fit) then come up with Abby’s own celebrity list of men to sleep with. But while tracking down a leading Hollywood man type, a waiter named Jake has her rethinking exactly what she’s looking for in a partner.

NBC has opted not to move forward with its comedy pilot “Hungry,” which originally starred Demi Lovato who pulled out of the project and was replaced by “Modern Family” star Ariel Winter, Variety has learned.
The multi-cam follows friends who belong to a food-issues group as they help each other look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that’s going to make it all better.
Lovato had been attached to the Universal television-produced “Hungry” as executive producer and star for almost a year while it was in development at NBC, but exited for scheduling reasons just as the pilot was about to start shooting in March. She was quickly replaced by Winter.
Along with Winter, the “Hungry” pilot also starred Valerie Bertinelli, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Ryan McPartlin, Alex Brightman and Ashley D. Kelley.

Betty White, who died Dec. 31 at age 99, was perhaps the greatest comic tactician in the history of television.
That’s distinct from comic acting, although White was, of course, a very fine actor. What set White apart was her unerring ability to find not just the joke, but the thing behind the joke: It was as if a special internal radar guided her toward the deflation of vanity. On “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” for instance, her sunny domestic goddess Sue Ann Nivens was purposefully oblivious, and White wrung delicious humor out of Sue Ann’s unwillingness or inability to see that not everyone in the room was charmed by her. And on “The Golden Girls,” her Rose Nylund was a variation on the form: A clueless naif who lived perpetually under the mistaken impression that she was just on the verge of figuring things out.

Jeremy Irons has been tapped to take on a lead role in HBO’s Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen pilot. Irons joins Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Adelaide Clemens and Andrew Howard on the previously announced cast.
For now, HBO is keeping tight-lipped on any character details, but the rumour has it that the veteran British actor could play a lord of a British manor.
Lindelof’s version of the Alan Moore series is set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws. “Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original trailblazing graphic novel while attempting to break ground of its own”.

Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect) has picked up the rights to an upcoming comic book from Image Comics called Crowded. The plan is for her to produce and star in the film adaptation.

The story is set in motion when a woman named Charlie, leading a quiet normal life, finds her world upside down when she suddenly becomes a target on Reapr, with a multimillion-dollar bounty. Desperate, the woman hires the only person she is able to afford: Vita, the lowest-rated bodyguard on the Dfend app. The two have to work together to take down the aspirational assassins and find out who wants Charlie...
