The finale of Shōgun pushed the series to its best showing so far on Nielsen’s streaming charts.
The FX-produced Hulu series had 608 million minutes of viewing time for the week of its finale, April 22-28. That’s a 45 percent jump from the prior week and Shōgun’s highest total in the nine weeks it has made the top 10. Its previous best was 513 million minutes for its premiere week, which featured the debut of two episodes.
Fallout claimed the overall No. 1 spot for the third straight week, the first such streak for a show on Amazon’s Prime Video. The series had 1.53 billion minutes of viewing, down by about 41 percent week to week. Its three-week total is now a little over 7 billion minutes.

Fallout — which in previous Nielsen’s U.S. streaming rankings racked up the most minutes viewed for a Prime Video title, then became the first series outside of the Netflix platform to rack up 2 billion minutes viewed in consecutive weeks — this week became the first Prime Video series to top the Overall Top 10 chart three times in a row.

Reality TV stars Lauren Hamilton-Speed and Joey Sasso shared details from their experience on the TV series The Goat in their new uInterview.
The Goat is a new reality competition show that features 14 popular reality TV personalities who compete in a series of mental, physical and social challenges to claim the title of “Greatest Of All Time.” Each contestant has joined the competition with a $200,000 prize and has to satirize the very tropes and archetypes that propelled them to fame.
Hamilton-Speed, a former contestant on Love Is Blind, pinpointed the challenge in the show she found most difficult. “The hardest challenge was the talent show, which is weird because I am a very talented individual — but what I don’t do is make balloon animals,”she told uInterview founder Erik Meers. “I could’ve picked any other thing, but I got balloon animals? Netflix’s Baby Reindeer entered the streaming top 10 in mid-April, and given the continued buzz around the series, it’s likely to stay around for a while.
The show drew 673 million minutes of viewing for the week of April 15-21, according to Nielsen’s latest streaming rankings. That was good for third place among original series and ninth among all titles.
Prime Video’s Fallout had a second straight huge week, if not quite as big as its first. It had 2.62 billion minutes of watch time, off a slight 10 percent from its opening week, which was the best single week for a Prime Video show since Nielsen began its streaming rankings almost four years ago. It’s also the first show that doesn’t stream on Netflix to have back-to-back weeks above 2 billion minutes of viewing.

For just the second time in show history, a catfish contestant has won The Circle. This time, it’s Brandon Baker, who e-cosplayed as Olivia, a variation of his real-life coworker, throughout the entire run of the social media competition and emerged victorious. Though Brandon as Olivia started out with some serious doubters, including Season 6’s instant frontrunner Myles who wasn’t sold on the blasé persona, he made some very smart moves right up until the very end. Some of the stars aligned as pure kismet — the fact that Olivia became Myles’ ride or die was just a matter of math, but even then Brandon played it well by giving his word to Myles and honoring it where it counted. If Myles had a question mark looming over Olivia’s profile pic before that, it was completely gone after the ride-or-dies challenge. Soon after, Brandon’s alter ego won...

That made it the most-watched Netflix title of the week, followed by “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver,” which was the top movie with 18.8 million views. “Anyone but You” was the No. 2 movie of the week with 10.6 million views in its first six days of availability, following a successful run at the box office earlier this year.

Although The Circle brings out some of the worst sides of players, two competitors seemingly are making the odds work for them. Even through the difficult decisions, Myles Reed and Quori-Tyler Bullock (Qt) appear to be watching each other’s backs. While everyone has made strategic moves, these two blooming romantics are sticking together. But do their loyalties extend past the social experiment?
Myles Reed And Quori-Tyler Bullock Are Definitely Cute On-Camera
Since filming the Netflix hit, The Circle, fans now wonder if the on-screen compatible couple has taken the romance off-screen. Undoubtedly, Myles Reed and Quori-Tyler Bullock have chemistry within the show. While they both are playing a tough game, they each have a soft spot for one another. Likewise, their budding relationship came with heart-shaped pancakes delivered straight to Qt’s doorstep. Netflix Top 10: ‘Baby Reindeer’ Leads TV Chart, ‘Rebel Moon — Part Two’ Debuts as Most-Watched Title
watched English-language TV series, and the 11th-most watched series overall, it was the No. 1 TV series on the service from April 15-21, reaching 13.3 million views — impressive, especially for a title that premiered with a smaller scale marketing campaign than titles with similar viewership.
The most-watched title of the week overall was “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver,” the follow-up to Zack Snyder’s 2023 film “Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire.” The movie hit 21.4 million views in its first three days of availability, putting it slightly behind “Part One,” which reached 23.9 million views in the same amount of time. The release of “Part Two” also gave a boost to “Part One,” which returned as the No. 5 English-language film with 5.5 million views. Also notable on the film chart was “Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp” and “What Jennifer Did,” which hit 18.8 million and 16.3 million views in their first full weeks of availability.

Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver has rocketed to the top of Netflix’s charts but has landed fewer viewers than its opening saga.
The film, which was released on April 19, opened with 21.4M views, making it the most-watched title of the week.
However, it came in lower than its prequel, which managed 23.9M when it was released in December.
Its launch did help the first part re-enter the film charts at number five, bringing in 5.5M views over the week. This means that Snyder has had three chart-topping films following the launch of Army of the Dead.
Elsewhere, the live-action/animated crossover Woody the Woodpecker Goes to Camp was number two with 18.8M views, followed by the true-crime documentary What Jennifer Did that brought in 16.3M views at number three.

Ah, April. Spring isn’t just in the air, it’s on our television sets. Baseballs are zipping through the air. Flowers are blooming in the park. Desperate TV networks are capitalizing off national holidays with religious programming. It’s all happening, and Netflix is playing along. Not only did the streaming giant get an early jump on the Emmy race by launching the confusing awful ambitious “3 Body Problem” in March (giving voters enough time to wade through its arduous episodes), but April has its own awards contender in “Ripley.”
I would be surprised if any other April original series draw the TV Academy’s attention, but we should never write off a series executive produced by Norman Lear (“Good Times” gets the animated reboot treatment this month), nor can a nature documentary series from Netflix be considered out of the running. Greg Berlanti isn’t known for producing...

There’s nothing quite like when HBO is airing one of its trademark watercooler-worthy dramas weekly. Thankfully, we’ll get to it experience exactly that and more on HBO Max in March 2023.
The big ticket item on HBO Max this March is undoubtedly Succession Season 4 on March 26. Part prestige drama and part screwball comedy, Succession is about as fun a watch as they come. Season 4 of the series about egregious wealth will find the Roy siblings reeling after trying and failing to take down their father, Logan (Brian Cox).
HBO Max’s other major TV option this month is another weekly release from HBO. Matthew Rhys returns as the titular lawyer in Perry Mason Season 2 on March 6. Season 1 of this period piece reboot flexed the classic TV character’s detective skills. From the look of the trailer, it seems as though this is the year Perry makes his name in the court room.

Dissident Iranian director Jafar Panahi has been released from Tehran’s Evin prison, his wife Tahereh Saeidi announced in an Instagram post. However, Panahi is out on bail and his case will be reviewed in March, so the release could just be temporary, according to several sources.
The director was released two days after announcing that he was going on a hunger strike to protest still being incarcerated after Iran’s Supreme Court had in last October overturned a six-year sentence issued against him in 2010 for “propaganda against the system”, ‘Variety’ reported.
That sentence had become obsolete due to the country’s 10-year statute of limitations. But the directors’ wife and lawyers said that Iranian security services were forcing the judiciary to keep Panahi behind bars.

A tragic saga rife with human rights violations and government overreach has narrowly avoided the worst possible outcome. Critically acclaimed Iranian director Jafar Panahi has been released from prison after his unjust arrest in early July of 2022, which occurred in the midst of widespread protests centered on freedom of expression throughout the country. The filmmaker's wife Tahereh Saeedi revealed the good news on social media and other outlets (via Deadline) alongside her attorney Saleh Nikbakht, who said in a terse but vindicating statement:
"Although I am happy about Mr. Panahi's release, it must be said that his release should have taken place three months ago, following the acceptance of our objection to his previous court decision."

Acclaimed Iran filmmaker and political dissident Jafar Panahi was released from prison Friday after months behind bars.
News of Panahi’s release, first reported by Iranian independent journalist Mansour Jahani, comes shortly after Panahi, director of The Circle, Taxi and No Bears, announced he had begun a hunger strike to protest his continued incarceration.
Panahi’s imprisonment had drawn the attention of international film festivals and activists, as it shone a light on repression of the national cinema industry and continuing demonstrations around women’s rights in Iran.
The Berlin Film Festival, which gave Panahi’s Taxi drama a Golden Bear prize in 2015, offered relief over the director’s release from prison after expressing concern for other arrested filmmakers in Iran. “We were very concerned for the health of Jafar Panahi and are now very glad that he has finally been released,” Berlinale directors Mariëtte Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian said...

Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia debuted at the top of the streaming rankings for the first week of 2023, and the streamer’s Kaleidoscope also had a strong showing.
Ginny & Georgia, whose second season debuted on Jan. 5, amassed 2.52 billion minutes of viewing time for the week of Jan. 2-8. That’s more than double the total for its best week in 2021, when its first season ran; it only topped 1 billion minutes once. It had twice as many episodes to draw on this time out, since Nielsen counts viewing of all episodes of a show in its rankings, but the large majority of that time was likely spent on the new season.
Kaleidoscope, a thriller designed to be viewed in any order before its last episode, had 1.64 billion minutes of viewing in its first full week (it premiered Jan. 1). Wednesday was the only other title to pass the billion-minute mark for the week,...

Let the games begin.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Netflix is launching yet another dating show, which promises to be its biggest yet. A mashup of the streamer’s various series — including “Too Hot To Handle,” “Love Is Blind,” “The Ultimatum,” “The Circle” and more — “Perfect Match” brings together some of the most popular singles from Netflix’s portfolio for some good ol’ fashioned reality TV messiness.
The new competition series, hosted by Nick Lachey, brings a lineup of various reality stars to a tropical location in an attempt to match them up. As the group competes to form relationships, the most compatible couples play matchmaker, breaking up other couples and sending them on dates with brand-new singles that they invite to the villa.
“This is like ‘Hunger Games’ for dating,” one of the contestants says in the new footage.
“Will they create better matches, or will they create chaos?...
