Diane von Furstenberg, a name synonymous with elegance, reinvention and resilience, finds herself once again in the spotlight with the Tribeca Festival premiering the documentary Diane von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge. Directed with a keen eye for the intricacies of an extraordinary life by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Trish Dalton, the film offers an intimate portrait of a woman who transformed not just fashion, but also the concept of feminine power and independence.
The film opens with von Furstenberg, now in her 70s, perched on the edge of a sink, both feet in, facing the mirror to apply makeup. This unconventional choice sets the tone for a documentary that does not shy away from von Furstenberg’s unrepentant embrace of her age. Her attraction to wrinkles, as she candidly shares, is a testament to her acceptance of every phase of life, and being true to herself.

Stormy Daniels‘ lawyer revealed the former adult film actress’ reaction after a jury found Donald Trump guilty on all 34 counts of fraud related to an alleged affair with Daniels. On Thursday, Trump became the first former president to be convicted of a felony in a historic verdict delivered by the 12-person jury.
Daniels’ lawyer, Clark Brewster, said the conviction “hit her hard.” Brewster implied Daniels may have been surprised by the verdict but was glad the matter was finally settled. According to Brewster, Daniels granted her attorney permission to share her thoughts but declined to do interviews “until the dust settles.”
“I think it was the culmination of a lot of things—the finality of it and, you know, the worry and nervousness that she had leading up to this,” Brewster stated. “It was more or less a relief that it’s over.”

“The gatekeepers are gone,” Colin Jost told a roomful of journalists at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 27, before pivoting to the punchline: “Did you know that 90 percent of people now get their news exclusively from social media? And that must be true because I saw it in a random guy’s TikTok.”
For those (ever fewer) media gatekeepers who have major reach, trust is currency. And there’s still a halo effect for those TV stars with broadest viewership — i.e., network TV hosts — particularly evening and morning show anchors for NBC and ABC, a new THR/Morning Consult poll shows. ABC News’ David Muir and Linsey Davis will moderate the second presidential debate on Sept. 10.
Joe Biden and Donald Trump said that they would participate in the event, to be their second matchup this cycle. CNN is hosting the first debate, scheduled for June 27 at its Atlanta headquarters, with Jake Tapper and Dana Bash moderating.
ABC News has not announced the format for its debate, although one source said that it will be in studio as well. The announcement of the moderators was made on World News Tonight, which Muir anchors. Davis anchors the streaming newscast ABC News Live Prime.
This will be the first time that Muir or Davis has moderated a general election debate. The last ABC News personality to do so was Martha Raddatz, who co-moderated a debate with CNN’s Anderson Cooper in 2016.

Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will moderate the June 27 presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, the network said.
Both candidates said today that they had agreed to participate in the event, which will take place at CNN’s studios in Atlanta.
Tapper and Bash were to co-moderate a Republican primary debate this year in New Hampshire, but that was canceled after Nikki Haley and Donald Trump declined to participate, leaving just Ron DeSantis.
CNN has not yet said whether other networks will be offered a feed to simulcast the event. ABC News, which is hosting the second debate on Sept. 10, said that it would provide its coverage for other networks to broadcast and stream. Puck first reported the news on the choice of moderators, about a minute before the network announced it.

Upfront week’s reliance on films isn’t actually new but it is increasingly bizarre, as evidenced by the top of Wednesday morning’s Warner Bros. Discovery presentation kicking off with sizzle that prioritized features Furiosa, Dune: Part Two and Wonka — when new episodes of the HBO and Max’s flagship Game of Thrones spinoff, House of the Dragon, are just weeks away.
But the opening frames proved to be relatively misleading, as the 90-minute (notably David Zaslav free) pitch to advertisers focused almost exclusively on … advertising. And on linear TV, at that. Film was referenced, of course, but as a vehicle to get Procter & Gamble’s Olay in on the Barbie phenomenon. Ad sales execs literally offered up James Gunn’s first project of the new DC era to the room full of media buyers, asking who wants sponsorship deals ahead of its planned 2025 release: “Do you want to be in Superman?...

It’s a frigid Sunday afternoon in April, and Andy Cohen is perched on a park bench, ruminating about the ups and downs — but mostly the ups — of his nearly three-decade-long career in broadcasting. Occasionally, a passerby walks past and smiles, or shyly waves hello. This, it quickly becomes apparent, is a common occurrence for Cohen, 55, who seems to be something of the unofficial mayor of this cobblestoned, townhouse-lined neighborhood in downtown Manhattan, where he — and now his two children, Benjamin, 5, and Lucy, 2 — has been living for 27 years. Everybody, it seems, loves Andy Cohen. Well, not everyone, but we’ll get to that in a moment. He started his career in New York in his early 20s, a precocious, fiercely ambitious network executive with not-so-secret dreams of making it big in front of the camera as a TV host (despite being told by a mentor that he had “no charisma”). Today,...

Update: Stormy Daniels faced a contentious cross examination today over her claim that she had sex with Donald Trump in 2006 and that, five years later, a stranger threatened her in a Las Vegas parking lot to not talk about the sexual encounter publicly.
Susan Necheles, a lawyer for Trump, questioned Daniels’ motivations and tried to cast doubt on her story. She also highlighted the fact that Daniels owes more than $500,000 in legal fees from a failed defamation lawsuit against Trump.
Necheles argued that as far back as 2011, Daniels was alternately confirming or denying sex with Trump depending on whether she was being paid for her story.
A $130,000 payment to Daniels in 2016 from Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, is the centerpiece of the Manhattan District Attorney’s case against Trump, for allegedly falsifying business records to conceal a reimbursement of the money to Cohen. Daniels, a key prosecution witness, spent more...

Live with Kelly and Mark saw Kelly Ripa return with another co-host this week because Mark Consuelos was in Italy.
Steve Patterson was back in the co-hosting seat next to Kelly for the first time since Covid-19 shut down filming in person for so long.
Kelly, who was nervous that Steve would jinx things again and cause another calamity, shared with him that she was nervous about her missing husband, Mark.
Mark and Kelly are part owners of a soccer team in Italy, the Campobasso Fc, and Mark goes in person to watch them any chance he can, even if it means missing work.
Since the over 100-year-old soccer team was close to clinching the top spot at the end of the season, something they’ve never done, Mark insisted on being there last weekend.
Mark shared on his Instagram that they have been promoted and won the championship after their 2-0 win against Chieti.
