Brittany Ashton Holmes, an American former actress from California, found fame as a child with her portrayal of Darla in Penelope Spheeris’ The Little Rascals. Starring alongside Travis Tedford and Bug Hall, the 1994 family comedy film adapted from Hal Roach’s Our Gang, in retrospect, was a stepping stone for Holmes to pursue greater heights as a performer. That didn’t happen as she seemingly abandoned acting for another profession, to the surprise of fans who related to her character in the film. Born on the 27th of February 1989, Holmes was only five when she played Darla, a role that...

"Of course your life's a mess, you're a teenager!" Vertical Entertainment has revealed an official trailer for a romantic comedy, teen road trip movie called This Is the Year, marking the feature directorial debut of actor David Henrie, who partnered with his "Wizards of Waverly Place" cast-mate Selena Gomez to make this. As fun as it may be, this year and last year don't seem like "this year" unfortunately, especially with regards to a music festival. In a last ditch effort to win over the girl of his dreams, a nerdy high school senior and his best friends embark on a road trip to see their favorite band at the biggest music festival of the year. Lorenzo Henrie co-stars in this with his brother David Henrie, joined by Gregg Sulkin, also an alumna of "Wizards of Waverly Place", along with Vanessa Marano, Jake Short, Jeff Garlin, Alyssa Jirrels, and Bug Hall.

What ensues is an action-packed adventure filled with some surprising self-realizations.
When writing the script, the 31-year-old actor was especially inspired by '80s coming-of-age movies he grew up watching. The Little Rascals will go down in history as one of our all-time favorite childhood movies. The 1994 flick showed us the "seriousness" of young love as we watched Alfalfa (Bug Hall) attempt to woo Darla (Brittany Ashton Holmes) while his he-man-woman-hating friends did everything they could to sabotage their romance. The other obstacle he faced was none other than Waldo Aloysius Johnston III. The snooty, musically-talented anti-hero was played by Blake McIver Ewing whose perfectly styled hair gave Alfalfa and his terrible cowlick quite the competition in winning over Darla's affection. But where is Waldo now? Ewing is 32 years old and living in Los Angeles, and...

It’s no accident that Discovery Channel premieres its original “Harley and the Davidsons” miniseries on Labor Day.
The three-part series turns back the clock to reveal how the creation of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle was a true labor of love by three men from blue-collar immigrant families, who championed labor rights. They were even inducted posthumously in 2004 into the Labor Hall of Fame for their company’s accomplishments and ongoing contributions to the workforce. Despite being one of the most iconic American brands, however, the Harley-Davidson story is not widely known.

Star Robert Aramayo revealed in an interview with IndieWire, “My experience of Harley was this really: I knew that they were motorcycles, I knew that they had great merchandising, and I thought that it was created by a man named Harley Davidson.

Despite the fact that cable networks have become increasingly prominent in the world of scripted programming, Discovery Channel is probably among the last place viewers would think to turn for an ambitious new miniseries. After all, the channel has developed a strong following due to its focus on documentary and reality television series that aim to inform and entertain in equal measure (e.g., shows like Mythbusters and its annual Shark Week event). Yet, Discovery has recently announced a new commitment to scripted content for the 2016-2017 season, one that largely begins with Harley and the Davidsons.
The three-part miniseries tracks the origin of Harley-Davidson Inc. from an upstart motorcycle manufacturer in the early 1900s through to the development of the company’s signature “Knucklehead” engine in the 1930s, a design that is still integral to today’s models. Robert Aramayo and Bug Hall – who thirty-somethings may remember as Alfalfa...

In honor of the 20th anniversary of Little Rascals, the film's stars, including Blake McIver (Waldo), Kevin Jamal Woods (Stymie), Travis Tedford (Spanky), Bug Hall (Alfalfa) Brittany Ashton Holmes (Darla), Courtland Mead (Uh Huh), Ross Bagley (Buckwheat), Sam Saletta (Butch) and Blake Jeremy Collins (Woim) recreated the poster for the iconic comedy...and the amazing results will send you into 90s overdrive. "It's #Rascals20th day! Hooray!" McIver captioned the pic, which is even complete with the gang's dog Petey. But in case you haven't had enough of your He-Man-Woman-Hating fix, the cast also recreated memorable moments from the...

It's hard to believe that it's been 20 years since Forrest Gump hit theaters, but the film returns to IMAX screens this weekend for an anniversary re-release for one week only. But another lesser celebrated film from 1994 is also 20 years old, and that's The Little Rascals. The contemporary big screen adaptation of the classic TV series of the same name is certainly a nostalgic movie for kids of the 90s, and 20 years later, a production company called 22 Vision (specializing in celebrating films by reuniting cast members from movies of the past), has brought the cast together for an adorable photoshoot to celebrate the film. Look! Here's a video from AOL talking about The Little Rascals reunion, looking at the cast then and now: And here's just some of the photos of 20th anniversary reunion from 22 Vision: Pretty much everyone came back for this shoot: Bug Hall as Alfalfa, Travis Tedford as Spanky,...

Arachnoquake
Stars: Tracey Gold, Edward Furlong, Bug Hall, Ethan Phillips, Olivia Hardt, Megan Adelle | Written by Paul A. Birkett, Eric Forsberg | Directed by Griff Furst
Last week we reviewed Dragon Wasps, a Syfy channel produced creature feature released by Chelseas Films and this week we have Arachnoquake, a Syfy channel produced creature feature released by our friends at Signature Entertainment. I think I see a trend forming… Not that I’m complaining, I love the cheesy Syfy channel TV movies – mainly because unlike big-budget Hollywood flicks, these movies know exactly what they are and their limitations and have fun with it! This time round it’s the story of an earthquake in the Deep South that, besides making a mess of the roads, unleashes a swarm of albino spiders of all shapes and sizes who, as they do in these types of movies, converge on New Orleans to reek havoc on the locals.

"We've got a dollar, we've got a dollar, we've got a dollar, hey, hey, hey, hey."
If you were a child of the '90s -- or a parent or grandparent-- you probably know what movie we're referencing. In 1994, "The Little Rascals" introduced a younger generation to a group of seven-year-old "womun" haters who refused to play nice with girls. After all, they did have cooties.
Based on the famed "Our Gang" series of short films -- which aired on television under the name "Little Rascals" -- the family comedy focused on how things started to change for the He-Man Women Hater's Club when Alfalfa (Bug Hall), club member and best friend to president Spanky (Travis Tedford), got a girlfriend (Brittany Ashton Holmes).

This weekend’s premiere of Jersey Shore Shark Attack begins the first of four straight weeks of new Syfy creature features. We now have our first look at what to expect three Saturdays from now when New Orleans is under siege by huge albino spiders unleashed by an Arachnoquake.
Swamp Shark director Griff Furst unleashes a new terror on Southern Louisiana in this Syfy original from writers Paul A. Birkett (Altitude) and Eric Forsberg (Mega Piranha). It’s up to Tracey Gold (“Growing Pains”), Edward Furlong (Terminator 2: Judgment Day), Ethan Philips (“Star Trek: Voyager”), and the appropriately named Bug Hall (American Pie Presents: The Book of Love) to save the Big Easy from a horde of over-sized albino spiders set loose from their underground lair by an earthquake.

The seemingly endless wait for the Syfy summer schedule is finally over! There is good news and bad, and one thing that is both good and bad. Let’s start with that: the Eureka Season Finale. We love Eureka, so every episode is good news; the fact that it’s a series finale, not so much. Mark your calendars – and have plenty of Kleenex in stock – for July 16 at 9/8c. Right after Comic-Con, which is early this year. We’ll see if that means a panel or not.
The good news: Warehouse 13 and Alphas return on July 23. The hmmm news is that Lost Girl will move to Fridays at 10 on July 20. Hey That’S Haven’S Spot. So Where The Heck Is Haven? Admittedly we had a head’s up that Haven would be pushed to fall when we learned that the DVDs for Season 2 weren’t being released until September but Argh.

SyFy continue to churn out their below-par low-budget creature features with yet another new natural world anomaly flick that'll get those spidey senses heightened. 'Arachnoquake' stars Edward Furlong ('Terminator 2: Judgement Day') and is the story of gigantic spiders that get unleashed from the Earth's core following a New Orleans Earthquake only to begin feeding on the unsuspecting locals. The Griff Furst directed movie will arrive on the SyFy channel stateside on 23 June and also stars Tracey Gold, Bug Hall, Ethan Phillips, Megan Adelle and the sexy Olivia Hardt (below). Paul A. Birkett and Eric Forsberg penned the script...

SyFy’s latest creation, specifically director Griff Furst’s sci-fi/horror outing “Arachnoquake”, takes two unbelievably horrifying elements and violently rolls into one potentially awesome small screen blockbuster. Is this just another example of my penchant for unchecked, unabashed hyperbole, you ask? Not really. I’m genuinely excited about the flick, mostly due to my secret passion for spider movies. And if they’re giant spiders, well, that’s even better. I may shriek like a baby with a broken rattle while I’m watching it, but you can rest assured I’m having an absolute blast. This synopsis looks like something you’ll need: In Arachnoquake massive earthquakes unleash giant albino spiders. Freed from their ancient subterranean prison, the spiders go on a murderous rampage through New Orleans. Adding to the movie’s unrelenting appeal is its cast, which includes Edward Furlong, Bug Hall (“Little Rascals”, “The Stupids”), and Tracey “Growing Pains” Gold.

Yeah, yeah, say what you will, but nothing floats our boats quite like a giant spider flick, which is why we are chomping at the bit to see Syfy's Arachnoquake when it debuts on June 23rd. To tide us over in the meantime, here's the first look at the giant albino spider around which the story revolves.
Arachonoquake stars Tracey Gold and Edward Furlong with Ethan Philips and Bug Hall rounding out the cast. Griff Furst directs.

In a scene from September 11 2001, Mac (Gary Sinise) cuts himself shaving and Claire (Jaime Ray Newman) calls 911 for help, as a joke (she doesn't really call - they're just fooling around like a married couple). Mac's taking John to the opera: that's John from the robbery squad. She then sees two tickets to the opera behind her. Claire: "What would you do without me?" What he's always done before they met and after he lost her, muddle through somehow, with his mind on the job and getting no sleep whatsoever. The radio reports on September 11 2011, the tenth anniversary of the attacks. "We will never forget." At the lab, Adam (Aj Buckley) calls Jo (Sela Ward) 'boss.' She corrects him, she's "interim boss" until Sinclair finds a replacement for Mac. In the meantime, she puts Mac's nameplate back on his desk. Adam reminds us he's been gone four months. Danny...

Okay, I’ll admit it. I used to be an anti-Original Movie snob. Then one day I was lucky enough to be on a conference call with Jewel Staite (Firefly), who basically said that the Syfy Original Movies are meant to be enjoyed on a couch with a giant bowl of popcorn. I’ve been enjoying them ever since. Two new movies will be coming our way this year that continue in that great tradition. The first is a disaster-in-a-paradise movie; the second is a near-unbeatable monster/disaster combo.

New Orleans survived the worst hurricane of a generation, but can it survive an Arachnoquake? Not just an earthquake... an earthquake that unleashes giant albino spiders from deep within the bowels of the earth. Can Carol Seaver, John Connor, and Alfalfa save the Big Easy from an earth-rattling, eight-legged apocalypse?

Meredith and Alex have their hands full in the first promo for the return of Grey’s Anatomy on Jan. 5. While they’re dealing with the disastrous aftermath of the fall finale’s SUV-meets-ambulance collision, poor Teddy still doesn’t know that her husband (True Blood-bound Scott Foley) dead on Cristina’s operating table. We repeat: Seriously?
Looks like Owen will come under fire from all corners for his decision to keep mum. Will Cristina be the one to spill the sad beans to her mentor?

Creepy ... crawly ... creepy ... crawly…creepycreepycrawlycrawly, creepycreepycrawlycrawly ... Certainly no one every musically expressed humanity's inherent fear of the creepy crawlies better than The Who in the 1966 John Entwistle-penned song Boris the Spider. This number was an ode to one particular ill-fated spider, but it smartly illustrated the strange, seemingly inborn fear, the majority of us have of bugs ... yuck!

Baked goods have a shelf life for good reason. I don't care how good the original pie was, after ten fucking years, it's going to be shitty and nauseating. Now on its Seventh incarnation, I'm praying to the god Flickus, god of direct-to-dvd, and Frattus, god of collegiate antics, that the lame American Pie series be taken out back and given the ol' double-barrel buh-bye. Bury the remains in hallowed earth, and then salt it so nothing may grow from it again. American Pie is now prepackaged like dollar store cake-mix boxes molded from a warehouse flood. The jokes stopped being funny four movies ago, they've run out of things to stick it in or have stuck in themselves, and they're recycling hit-on/burn lines that were old when the Pie was still fresh. The first film might have been my generation's Breakfast Club, igniting a few careers with a...
