Steppenwolf Theatre Company announces the full cast for the Chicago premiere production of Grand Concourse, a play full of both humor and heart by Heidi Schreck. Police Commander Frank Walsh, after losing his wife and daughter in a tragic car crash many years ago, is about to retire. Facing further emptiness in his life, Frank learns that a heroin addict, Judy, may be his daughter from a relationship 26 years ago. While coming to terms with this reality, his best friend Charlie, a retired cop, is murdered and his money and gold goes missing. Frank must now find the killer, search for the gold, help Judy overcome her demons and allow himself a second chance to be a father. Steppenwolf Theatre Company Artistic Director Martha Lavey announced today the 201314 Subscription Season, including two world premieres, an American premiere and two Chicago premieres. The season begins in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre with Zinnie Harris's The Wheel, directed by ensemble member Tina Landau. Up next, ensemble member Austin Pendleton directs Tribes by Nina Raine. In the Upstairs Theatre, ensemble member Yasen Peyankov directs Russian Transport by Erika Sheffer. In April 2014, ensemble member Amy Morton directs the world premiere of The Way West by Mona Mansour. And in July 2014, the season concludes with the world premiere of The Qualms by Bruce Norris, directed by Pam MacKinnon.
