Exclusive: Channing Tatum is set to star in The Contortionist’s Handbook, the film adaptation of the Craig Clevenger novel that will be financed by GreeneStreet Films and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment as a co-production between those companies and Das Films. That gets upended when he falls for a beautiful woman with her own dark secret. Robin Shushan wrote the script. The novel was published in 2002. The film will be produced by Das Films’ Sriram Das, GreeneStreet’s John Penotti, Tim Williams and Sidney Kimmel. Tatum is aboard the project as co-producer, along with Reid Carolin, his partner in the shingle 33andout. Stretching into a producing role with The Contortionist's Handbook seems a logical progression for Tatum,...

Hey, horror fans! Mark Tonderai’s horror thriller House at the End of the Street is coming! They already describe this project as something that’s “looking to be to Psycho what Disturbia was to Rear Window.”
And Jennifer Lawrence and Max Thieriot have signed on to star in it! They could be just the perfect couple on a big screen, don’t you think?
Of course, Lawrence and Thieriot will play the lead roles in this one. Lawrence will play the role of a teen girl who “along with her mother move into a new home in a new town that happens to be right across the street from where a double murder occurred” while Thieriot is “the sole survivor of the massacre and the story becomes complicated when Lawrence and Thieriot befriend each other.”

House at the End of the Street is looking to be a definite 2011 release. Moving at an almost breakneck speed, after adding Mark Tonderai earlier in the year for the director's seat, according to THR, the production have managed to lasso raising stars Jennifer Lawrence and Max Thieriot for the lead roles. Production would begin mid July-ish in Ottawa, Canada. Dubbed as a newer version of Hitch's Psycho, this centers on a teen girl (Lawrence) who moves with her mom to a new town and learns that their home is across the street from a house where a double murder took place. Complications ensue when the teen befriends the massacre's sole surviving son (Thieriot). If all goes as according to plan, next week should be Lawrence's big breakout moment with the release of Winter's Bone. Author John Searles has only written two novels, but already his second, Strange but True, has been picked up for the big screen treatment. And, continuing our theme of "two", it will be the sophomore directorial project of Spanish brothers Alex and David Pastor, whose debut, Carriers, was somewhat mishandled by Paramount Vantage.
Let's hope they have better luck with Ross Katz and Fred Berger’s Civil Dawn Pictures and John Penotti and Tim Williams’ GreeneStreet Films, the production team behind Strange.
Per Variety, the screenplay is being co-written by Searles and novelist Eric Garcia. Strange centers on a young woman who, five years after the death of her boyfriend, tells his parents she is pregnant with his baby. "It’s a dramatic thriller with a big heart in the line of 'Fargo' and 'A Simple Plan'," Alex Pastor told the trade.

In a game of musical chairs at GreeneStreet Films, production head and partner Tim Williams has been bumped up to co-president alongside founding partner John Penotti, Michael Hogan has been named Coo and actor-turned-producer/co-founder Fisher Stevens is stepping down as a partner in the company.
Stevens said he will still be an owner of the financing, production and sales outfit. He will serve as a producer on several upcoming GreeneStreet projects, including "Positively Fifth Street" and "The Invisible Woman," but will no longer be involved in day-to-day decision-making at the company. "I'm looking to focus more on my acting and directing career and outside productions," including producing and helming an adaptation of the novel "The Highest Tide" and his role on "Lost," Stevens said. "This is better if other opportunities come up, versus living for the company more."
Williams joined GreeneStreet as head of production when the company was founded by Stevens and Penotti in 1998, heading to Los Angeles in 2006 as the company launched its West Coast offices. Hogan, a partner and Coo at the now-disbanded Hart Sharp Entertainment from 1999-2007, joined GreeneStreet last year as a consultant and will remain based in New York.
Williams will continue his production duties along with new responsibilities co-heading the company, while Hogan will oversee all operational and financial duties. Both will work with Penotti to develop new industry partnerships, as well as new-media, digital and online ventures with recently hired consultant Eric Spiegelman. The company also will continue developing its GreeneStreet Films International sales arm headed by another recent hire, Amy Beecroft.
Stevens is currently working on a documentary tentatively titled "The Rising" about the slaughter of dolphins in Japan. He described his relationship with GreeneStreet as amicable and said they may help produce some of his future outside projects.

NEW YORK -- IFP/New York said Tuesday that Ira Deutchman will serve as its new board chairman and also unveiled a new initiative called IFP/New York's Producers' Group, which is designed to represent the interests of New York-based film producers. Deutchman, president and CEO of Emerging Pictures, will replace departing chair Ed Carroll, president of Rainbow Entertainment Services. Joining the IFP board are producers Anthony Bregman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and Tim Williams (In the Bedroom), financier Paul Trijbits and marketing consultant Jeanne Berney. Although New York's independent producers are not known for presenting a unified front, IFP/NY has taken the lead in organizing New York-based producers since the 2003 MPAA screener ban controversy. The Producers' Group has emerged from those efforts.
