Since Lisa Marie Presley died, there has been a battle for the rights to her late father’s estate. This battle started out with her mother, Priscilla Presley, claiming that Lisa Marie wanted her to be in control. That led to a legal fight with Lisa Marie’s daughter, Riley Keough.
The battle ended when Riley agreed to pay her grandmother $1 million, and Priscilla dropped her fight. Lisa Marie’s ex-husband, Michael Lockwood, claimed a part in that settlement, and now he wants Riley to pay for it.
Michael Lockwood Wants Lisa Marie’s Daughter To Pay Him Six Figures
Michael Lockwood filed court papers asking for a payment of $153,647.32 from Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, Riley Keough. In the filing, Michael said he helped Riley and Priscilla settle their issues and ensured that all court issues were resolved “effectively and cost-efficiently.”

Riley Keough wants to honor her mother’s legacy in new memoir she co-wrote with her, titled “From Here to the Great Unknown.”
Apart from co-writing the book, the ‘Daisy Jones & the Six’ star will also lend her voice talent to the audio book, which is set to feature “breathtaking vulnerable” recordings of her mother’s own voice.
Riley Keough Wants To Share Her Mom’s “Most Vulnerable And Most Honest” Story With Fans In New Memoir
Lisa Marie Presley’s memoir will be posthumously published on October 15 via Random House. It is meant to draw back the curtains on the woman who is more famously identified as Elvis Presley’s only child and reveal the person she was and the life she lived, and even the pains she felt.

Priscilla Presley is reportedly so done with the feud she’s begging her granddaughter to find a way to move forward from it. According to a source, the 79-year-old is keen to spend her final days at Graceland, and finally, to be buried next to Elvis Presley, despite the fact that they had divorced before his death.
The History Of The Feud Between Priscilla Presley And Riley Keough
It takes a special kind of family to start fighting over property just days after the tragic death of a beloved one, but that’s exactly what happened between Priscilla and Riley in the wake of Lisa Marie Presley’s death on Jan. 12, 2023.
Prior to Lisa Marie‘s death at age 54, she had had a falling out with her mother and made some changes to her trust which her mother claimed not to be aware of.

While television had been a part of each past IndieWire Honors celebration, the medium took center stage on the evening of Thursday, June 6, with an event that celebrated the creators and stars of such well-regarded shows as “Abbott Elementary,” “Expats,” “Fellow Travelers,” “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” and “True Detective: Night Country.”
Even before the awards ceremony began, as talent started filing into the Citizen News venue in the heart of Hollywood, it was a marvel to see “Palm Royale” star and Vanguard Award recipient Carol Burnett hold court as fellow honorees like “Under the Bridge” producer/star Riley Keough, recipient of the Maverick Award, and “Abbott Elementary” creator/star Quinta Brunson, recipient of the Visionary Award (and whom Burnett presented an Emmy to in January), came to greet the comedy legend.

There aren’t enough Native women on TV. But when they do get hired, they’re often playing cops.
“Not to take away from the performances of all these actresses, who I admire so much and are doing a beautiful job,” says Lily Gladstone, “but it’s almost the only role that we get to see.”
So it’s understandable that Gladstone had something of a checklist in hand when she first met with the producers of “Under the Bridge.” They were offering her the role of Cam Bentland, a police officer investigating the 1997 murder of Reena Virk (played by Vritika Gupta), a 14-year-old child of Indian immigrants in Saanich Core, British Columbia.
Cam, a Native woman adopted by a family of white cops, was the invention of series creator Quinn Shephard. Though realistic, the character is fictional; but the homicide at the center of the project is not. Often in the true crime genre,...

Editor’s note: Deadline’s It Starts on the Page features standout limited or anthology series scripts in 2024 Emmy contention.
In Hulu’s adaptation of the late Rebecca Godfrey’s true crime page-turner from 2005, Riley Keough plays the author who, along with a local police officer (Lily Gladstone), uncovers the mystery behind the death of Reena Kirk – a 14-year-old misfit who disappears after attending a party with kids who she thought were her friends.
The duo’s quest culminates in the eighth and final episode, “Mercy Alone,” written by the series’ showrunner Samir Mehta and directed by Kevin Phillips.
In the forward to his script, Mehta talks about the “pivotal true-to-life” scene in the finale that convinced him to tackle the true crime genre with Under The Bridge and explains why this is not really a story about a girl’s death.

The first-ever Gotham TV Awards offered a stark contrast between the Gotham Film & Media Institute’s annual celebration of cinema. While both awards shows were founded to toast independent productions — that is, before the Gotham Awards increased their budget cap eligibility requirements in 2023 — the Gotham TV Awards felt like a strangely intimate gathering that was mostly populated by showrunners, network executives, and the Gotham TV Awards jurors, with a few actors and press sprinkled in.
Sure, it could be that it’s the first year for the awards show and thus a smaller turnout and even venue. Or perhaps the Gotham TV Awards will remain a coveted industry event, one that feels like it’s only for insiders.
The intimacy was most prominent during the Anniversary Tribute for “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” icon Mariska Hargitay. The award was presented by Hargitay’s former co-star Stephanie March, and...

On June 6, the 2024 IndieWire Honors ceremony will celebrate 13 creators and stars responsible for some of the most stellar work of the TV season. Curated and selected by IndieWire’s editorial team, the event is a new edition of previous IndieWire Honors ceremonies, this time focused entirely on television. We’re showcasing their work with new interviews leading up to the Los Angeles celebration.
Coming off what would ultimately become her Emmy-nominated role as Daisy Jones in Prime Video’s conversation-dominating “Daisy Jones & The Six” miniseries, Keough wasn’t sure of her next move.
The actress, who will receive the Maverick Award at IndieWire Honors, was immersed in her production company, Felix Culpa, and her debut co-writing and co-directing feature, “War Pony,” received the Caméra d’Or at Cannes. There were paths to go down — but a true tale about the horrific murder of Canadian teenager Reena Virk didn’t seem like the obvious choice.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers for “Mercy Alone,” the series finale of “Under the Bridge.”
“Under the Bridge” doesn’t have “a traditional ending,” says showrunner Samir Mehta.
After the penultimate episode of the true crime limited series saw Warren Glowatski (Javon Walton) sentenced to life in prison for his involvement in the 1997 murder of Reena Virk (Vritika Gupta), in the finale, the white, wealthy Kelly Ellard (Izzy G) received only a five-year sentence despite having been the ringleader.
“Justice wasn’t really served in real life, so it couldn’t ever be that type of story where you get to the finale and the bad people go away,” Mehta says. Instead, the episode focuses more on the characters “finding their best shot at peace and finding a little bit of grace in their suffering. [This story contains major spoilers from the Under the Bridge finale, “Mercy Alone.”]
The final episode of Under the Bridge saw the complete, real-life events come to light around the night Reena Virk (played by Vritika Gupta in the series) was killed in Saanich, British Columbia by a group of teenagers. She was 14 when she first disappeared in 1997.
The first few minutes of “Mercy Alone,” the eighth episode in Hulu’s true-crime limited series based on Rebecca Godfrey’s 2005 book, begin with Kelly Ellard (Izzy G.) talking explicitly to Josephine (Chloe Guidry) about wanting to break Reena’s bones with a bat, burn her at the stake and bury her alive in the forest. Kelly’s mom, who is in the room, does not even flinch at her daughter threatening to kill someone in such detail.

Editor’s note: This story contains spoilers for the finale of Hulu’s “Under the Bridge.”
You expect a true crime tale about a murder to end with a conviction, but for the family of the murdered to forgive the guilty party? That’s much less common.
“I think it’s truly the most interesting detail about this entire story, that the Virks not only said to Warren that they forgave him, but that they literally advocated on his behalf and his parole hearing and helped to support him in his transition and to work with restorative justice,” “Under the Bridge” creator Quinn Shephard told IndieWire. “I mean, it’s an immense strength.”
In the finale of Hulu’s “Under the Bridge,” which aired May 29, viewers finally see a group of teenagers — particularly Kelly (Izzy G.) and Warren (Javon Walton) — held accountable for killing teenage classmate Reena Virk, and get sentenced.

A dark web scammer has taken credit for trying to sell Elvis Presley’s Graceland home, The New York Times reports.
The paper said it received two emails from a person who claimed to be the brains behind this scheme and other identity theft frauds. “We figure out how to steal. That’s what we do,” the scammer said, adding that he and his dark web network of “worms” often targeted elderly and unsuspecting people, often in California and Florida, using publicly available documents like birth certificates to procure crucial personal information.

The hit show, based on John le Carré’s bestselling novel of the same name, is returning for two new seasons from BBC and Prime Video, which will see Hiddleston reprise his role as Jonathan Pine, who works in a hotel after leaving the army.

Hulu’s “Under the Bridge” could be the next big hit in the Best Limited Series category at this year’s Emmys, as this is a category that loves true crime miniseries. This one documents the harrowing murder of Reene Virk as police officers try to solve the case and a writer (Rebecca Godfrey) is drawn into the hidden world of those accused of murdering Virk. The series is based on Godfrey’s own book of the same name with “Daisy Jones & the Six” star Riley Keough, who also produces, portraying her. Meanwhile, “Killers of the Flower Moon” Best Actress Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone features as the police officer investigating the case.
This eight-episode miniseries, like any true crime series, is a tough watch at times but that makes it all the more vital. Meanwhile, the performances of Keough, Gladstone, and the teen-centric cast are all exquisite, as noted by critics.

The prequel film we have all been waiting for is finally here and I am really happy to say that it is as brilliant and bombastic as the original film. Obviously, we are talking about Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the prequel to George Miller‘s 2015 Mad Max: Fury Road. Directed by Miller from a screenplay by Nico Lathouris and Miller, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga follows the story of a young Furiosa as she is taken from Green Place of Many Mothers and tries to survive in the wasteland while trying to get back home but the war between great biker horde’s warlord Dementus and Immortan Joe makes it harder. Replacing Charlize Theron from Fury Road, Anya Taylor-Joy takes over the role of Furiosa in the prequel film and it also stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Lachy Hulme, John Howard, Angus Sampson, and Nathan Jones. So,...

While ownership of Elvis Presley’s Graceland estate in Memphis was retained by his family following a flurry of legal filings and courtroom rulings this week, whoever is behind the company now accused of attempting to snatch the property through fraud remains a mystery.
In an 11th-hour filing last week, Elvis’ granddaughter, the actor Riley Keough, claimed in a 60-page lawsuit that the signature of her late mother, Lisa Marie Presley, was forged on a loan that held the famed home of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll up as collateral. In a Memphis court Wednesday, Chancellor JoeDae L. A judge today halted the foreclosure sale of Graceland, the former Memphis, Tennessee home of Elvis Presley, noting that the Presley estate could be successful in proving fraud by an investment company.
The ruling came shortly before the company trying to foreclose on Graceland issued a statement dropping its case, according to the Associated Press.
Shelby County Chancellor JoeDae Jenkins issued a temporary injunction today against the proposed foreclosure auction that had been scheduled for Thursday in Memphis. It underlines a previous restraining order issued at the request of Presley’s granddaughter, actor Riley Keough.
A public notice for a foreclosure sale of the 13-acre estate posted earlier in May said Promenade Trust, which controls the Graceland museum, owes $3.8 million after failing to repay a 2018 loan. Keough inherited the trust and ownership of the home after last year’s death of her mother, Lisa Marie Presley.

A judge has halted the attempt to sell Elvis Presley’s iconic Graceland estate.
At a hearing that took place Wednesday in Memphis, Tennessee, a Shelby County judge blocked the attempted sale after Graceland had been scheduled for a foreclosure auction on Thursday.
In a hearing that lasted only eight minutes, according to ABC, Chancellor JoeDae Jenkins adjourned the sale of Graceland saying, “The notary has sworn that the notary did not notarize the signature of Lisa Marie Presley on the deed of trust, which brings into question the authenticity of the signature.”
In a lawsuit filed on May 15, Elvis granddaughter Riley Keough, the trustee of the Promenade Trust, had claimed an entity named Naussany Investments & Private Lending LLC attempted to have Graceland sold off of a forged signature by her late mother Lisa Marie Presley that allowed the famed property to be held as collateral for a $3.8 million loan.

A Tennessee judge has intervened to block a planned auction of Graceland, the legendary home of music icon Elvis Presley.
The decision comes amid a complex legal dispute between Presley’s granddaughter, actress Riley Keough, and a company that claimed ownership of the property.
The saga began when the company Naussany Investments alleged that Presley’s estate had failed to repay a $3.8 million loan, for which the Graceland compound had been used as collateral. Naussany Investments planned to sell the property at an auction this Thursday.
However, Keough, who inherited Graceland and much of Presley’s estate after her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, died last year, contested the legality of the loan paperwork. She claimed her mother’s signature had been forged and the loan agreement was fraudulent.
On Wednesday, Shelby County Chancellor JoeDae Jenkins responded swiftly and issued a temporary injunction to halt the proposed auction. This decisive move...

Elvis Presley‘s granddaughter, Riley Keough, has retained control of her grandfather’s historic Graceland home. A Memphis chancellor says the property will not be foreclosed upon at this time. A future hearing will determine who will maintain rightful ownership of the estate.
Graceland remains a Presley family asset until it is determined who owns the historic estate
Chancellor JoeDae Jenkins says Elvis Presley’s Memphis, Tennessee home, Graceland, will continue to remain a Presley family asset. Therefore, a planned foreclosure and sale of the property will not occur, as reportedly scheduled, on May 23.
Jenkins made the following ruling, per CNN. “The estate is considered unique under Tennessee law. And in being unique, the loss of the real estate will be considered irreparable harm.”
In a blockbuster turn of events, it was reported on May 20 that Elvis Presley’s Graceland home would be sold in a foreclosure sale. His granddaughter,...

Riley Keough Claims Fraud, Forged Lisa Marie Presley Signature in Graceland Foreclosure Sale Attempt
Actress Riley Keough is taking the fight to save Graceland — the iconic Memphis home of her grandfather Elvis Presley — to court this week after what she claims is a fraudulent attempt to use her late mother’s forged signature to pass the property over to settle a multi-million dollar debt.
Keough, the trustee of the Promenade Trust, filed a lawsuit on May 15 in Shelby County Chancery Court and is now seeking to block an entity named Naussany Investments & Private Lending LLC from taking profits from the sale of Graceland, a longtime Memphis tourism destination and place of pilgrimage for Presley and his fans worldwide. In the complaint, Keough’s attorney suggests that the entity attempting to have Graceland sold off forged Lisa Marie Presley’s signature on the document that allowed the famed property to be held as collateral for a $3.8 million loan.

Actress Riley Keough, granddaughter of Elvis Presley who inherited the iconic Graceland estate when her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, passed in 2023, is now tasked with fighting its possible foreclosure.
Update: A judge granted Keough’s request for a preliminary injunction that will block a foreclosure until the case can be heard.
According to documents filed in the Shelby County court system, Keough is pushing back against a claim from a company called Naussany Investments and Private Lending, which states that her mother took out a loan of $3.8 million with Graceland as collateral. The firm now claims that Lisa Marie defaulted on the loan in early 2023, prior to her death. Keough believes that signatures on the loan were forged.
Regardless, Keough needs to act fast, as the foreclosure auction is scheduled to take place just two days from now on May 23rd if no injunction is secured.

A new dream TV duo is upon us. Laura Dern and Margaret Qualley are set to co-star in the upcoming limited series Forever, Interrupted, which just landed at Netflix from production company A24. Per Deadline, they’ll also serve as co-executive producers.
Forever, Interrupted is based on the romance novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid, who’s also the author of Daisy Jones & the Six, which was adapted into a Prime Video limited series starring Riley Keough in 2023. Qualley will star as Elsie, who embarks on a whirlwind romance that leads to a supposedly idyllic marriage after just a few months. But when her husband unexpectedly dies, her path crosses with that of his mother Susan (Dern), who had no idea she even existed.

One of 2024’s most electric hits is our top pick among this weekend’s streaming releases, but there’s something for everyone, including a searing documentary, an oddball indie, and a couple of middling blockbusters.
The contender to watch this week: “Challengers“
Luca Guadagnino‘s box-office backspin became one of spring’s moviegoing success stories, and we’re all the luckier for it. Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist‘s love-triangle tennis lark is still playing in plenty of theaters across the country, but if you want another serve, it’s available to rent for $19.99 on VOD. It’s not impossible to imagine a “Challengers” resurgence in the fall: Guadagnino is already an Oscar darling thanks to “Call Me by Your Name,” and Zendaya seems especially poised for top-tier accolades. If nothing else, maybe Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross‘ banger of a score can net the duo’s third trophy.

A wordless sasquatch film is certainly an audacious idea on paper. But it hasn’t been a month since we had an almost wordless beaver film (Hundreds of Beavers), which was fantastic. Clearly, cinema in 2024 is going way beyond the usual, and Sasquatch Sunset is a profound example of that. In the David and Nathan Zellner-directed Bigfoot film, the main characters refrain from saying anything, which only adds value to it. Despite the lack of dialogue, Sasquatch Sunset has a pretty clear narrative, which turns the story into a four-season tale. It’s often hard to sit through thanks to its extremely gross nature, but it is also quite an experience if you have a thing for a certain kind of weirdness. The film categorizes itself as a comedy, but it is quite heavy and also packs a message by the end. In case you are feeling lost after watching Sasquatch Sunset,...

The cast of Daisy Jones & The Six were set to take the stage once again according to series star Suki Waterhouse.
Waterhouse shared in a YouTube vlog on Thursday from the 2023 Lollapalooza festival that she along with the cast, which also included Sam Claflin, Riley Keough, Josh Whitehouse, Sebastian Chacon and Will Harrison, were supposed to perform at the Chicago-based music festival last summer.
“That whole thing was planned, we got people visas, like, it was an operation. And then the SAG strike happened, so we all decided that we should not perform at Lollapalooza,” the actress and singer recalled. Amid the strike, guidelines stated that the union’s affected members would be prohibited from all principal on-camera work — including acting, singing, dancing and stunts — on top of off-camera work, such as voice-acting and narration. All promotional activity such as interviews, award shows and podcasts were also not allowed by union members at the time.
