Dez Fafara, frontman of the bands DevilDriver and Coal Chamber, has revealed that he currently is unable to tour overseas because of heart problems that arose from his 2021 battle with Covid.
DevilDriver are currently touring the States with Cradle of Filth, and Coal Chamber were recently announced as direct support on Mudvayne’s summer 2023 outing. While Dez has been cleared to play stateside gigs, he can’t get on a flight anytime soon.
The singer revealed his condition as DevilDriver pulled out of the UK’s Bloodstock Open Air festival, explaining as follows:
“In 2021, I came down with Covid which left me with heart problems. I had to live downstairs in my house, as I could barely walk more than a few feet without collapsing. I, in fact was saying goodbye to my family at the time and didn’t think I would pull through.

Cradle of Filth have unveiled a new single titled “She Is a Fire” and announced their first live album in 20 years, Trouble and Their Double Lives, arriving April 28th.
The studio track “She Is a Fire” will be included as a bonus track on the upcoming live record, along with another new song, “Demon Prince Regent.” These tunes were written following the recording of the band’s latest album, 2021’s Existence Is Futile. As Dani Filth describes them, the songs “present a perfect, but not necessarily related, bridge between our Nuclear Blast days and the forthcoming album on Napalm Records.”
A furious six-minute piece, “She Is a Fire” is an unrelenting exercise in technical black metal as riffs unfurl from one another in a torrent of notes. Dani Filth’s whispery howl provides properly unsettling accompaniment.
“The song itself is about the epitome of burning passion,” he said in the press release,...

Comedian and actor Kieran Hodgson’s video of his hilarious Happy Valley impressions has gone viral.
Hodgson, who recently co-wrote and starred in Channel 4’s Prince Andrew: The Musical, shared a video online in which he recaps the third and final series of the hit BBC show. Hodgson speaks in character as the Happy Valley stars.
During the video, he imitates Sarah Lancashire’s Catherine Cawood and her sister Clare, played by Siobhan Finneran.
He also delivers impressions of Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton) and his teenage son Ryan (Rhys Connah).
Other moments see Hodgson take on Susan Lynch’s Alison Garrs, Conn O’Neil’s performance of Clare’s boyfriend Neil, and the Pe teacher Mr Hepworth (Mark Stanley).
Hodgson shared the video on Twitter, writing: “A little treat for fans of #HappyValley Bad TV Impressions.”
Viewers have disagreed with his assessment, however, and are commending him for his efforts.
