The second season is set to launch in August during the NFL preseason.
“Working with Bleacher Report on ‘The Edge’ has given me the desire to want to share my view of the game even more,” said Parsons. “Being able to create something dynamic for fans alongside a content team like B/R Gridiron, is a chance for me to flex different...

AMC Theatres will be the exclusive cinematic home to Kiss the Future, the award-winning documentary about the siege of Sarajevo and how its people and artistic community drew inspiration from the music of U2.
Under a deal between AMC and Fifth Season, select AMC locations will debut the film on February 23 for what is described as a full theatrical run. Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, Christiane Amanpour, and former Pres. Bill Clinton are among those who appear in the film directed by Nenad Cicin-Sain and produced by Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Sarah Anthony. Kiss the Future will become available to stream later this year exclusively on Paramount+.
“Kiss the Future, directed by Nenad Cicin-Sain, story by Bill Carter and Cicin-Sain, screenplay by Carter, based on his memoir: Fools Rush In, is the story of defiance amid the 1990s siege of Sarajevo during the Bosnian War,” notes a release about the documentary.

“Kiss the Future,” a documentary produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck and featuring Bono and Bill Clinton, is coming to the big screen next month.
The film will receive a theatrical run exclusively at AMC Theatres, starting on Feb. 23, before it lands on Paramount+ at a later date. This marks the theater chain’s latest foray into distribution following the release of “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” and “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.” However, the two concert docs played on more than just AMC screens.

In the UK in the 1990s, bodybuilding was a freak pursuit – the domain of weirdos who painted themselves with Ronseal and stretched tiny Lycra hammocks across acres of skin the texture of an Arbroath Smokie in an attempt to resemble Marvel’s The Thing. Nobody knew what a deltoid was. Or a protein window. Fit people were the ones who played a weekly game of five-a-side before the pub. Fake tan smelt of biscuits, and even Sporty Spice didn’t have abs.
When Gladiators first arrived on TV then, its stars were curios. We only saw people like them once a year, pulling a truck on The World’s Strongest Man or being gawped at by Clive James on Television. These demigods with 19 inch biceps and thighs the size of dustbins didn’t walk among us.

Green Day specifically made a point to avoid making political music as of late, saying that it “takes those special, inspired moments” to write songs in that vein. The band apparently felt that their nationally televised appearance on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve was such a moment, as frontman Billie Joe Armstrong altered the lyrics to “American Idiot” to sing, “I’m not a part of the Maga agenda.”
“[With] political songs, it takes a lot of heart to do that, and I think if you keep doing it for the sake of doing it just because you’re angry, then you take the heart out of it,” Armstrong explained in a recent interview with 102.1 the Edge. “Then it just becomes part of what everyone is complaining about.”

Green Day’s 14th studio album, Saviors, is on the way, and its lead single, “The American Dream Is Killing Me,” has indicated that it’s set to be their most political work in years. Now, in a new interview, Billie Joe Armstrong has confirmed that the band finally feels ready to return to political music, explaining that it “takes those special, inspired moments” to write songs in that vein.
Speaking with 102.1 the Edge, Armstrong explained that “The American Dream Is Killing Me” is actually the oldest song on Saviors, as it was written several years ago when the band was working on their previous album, Father of All Motherfuckers. At the time, though, the band didn’t feel that the atmosphere was right to release political music, and elected to hold the song until they could include it in a project that felt more appropriate.

Lol Tolhurst, Budgie, and Jacknife Lee have shared their debut album as a trio, Los Angeles.
A post-punk supergroup of sorts, drummers Tolhurst (formerly of The Cure) and Budgie (formerly of Siouxsie and the Banshees) teamed up with producer Lee for the project, which also features a who’s-who list of collaborators including U2’s The Edge, LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, Modest Mouse’s Isaac Brock, Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie, more.
And though the band admittedly “stole” some of the music on Los Angeles from their musical heroes and their own back catalogs, they made sure to nod to their punk descendants, too: “We asked Mark Bowen from Idles to put some guitar on [‘Uh Oh’] and what we got was sonic destruction design courtesy of the dentist,” Tolhurst says in a press release, while Budgie says the tune draws from The Banshees’ own “Happy House.”

Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock sings lead on “We Got to Move,” the latest single from Lol Tolhurst, Budgie, and Jacknife Lee’s upcoming collaborative album Los Angeles. Check it out below.
“We Got to Move” begins with a cacophony of strings and percussion before beginning in earnest as an über-sycnopated synth rock song. “It’s not a parade, it’s just another fine day/ Come on and pick up the pace/ We’re so glad that you stayed,” Brock sings, before repeating the track’s urgent title. In the music video, Tolhurst and Budgie — the iconic former drummers of The Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees, respectively — bang on trash cans as guest star Fred Armisen, apparently the most connected musician-turned-comedian of all time, goes to town in a rage room.

Disney+ has unveiled the first look images for its upcoming documentary series featuring Keanu Reeves as the host and executive producer. The series, titled “Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story”, will tell the remarkable story of how an underdog team defied all odds and won the World Championship in 2009.
The four-part series will follow the journey of Ross Brawn, the former technical director of Ferrari, who bought the Honda team for a symbolic £1 after the Japanese manufacturer pulled out of Formula 1 due to the global financial crisis. Brawn renamed the team as Brawn Gp and hired drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, who had been left without a seat.

The "Twisted Metal" video games were a huge favorite of millennials growing up, fulfilling the vehicular combat desires of angsty tweens hopped up on Mountain Dew and a variety of angry white boy music dominating the airwaves. Parents clutched pearls over the excessive violence and graphic ballistics, and gamers couldn't get enough of it. "Twisted Metal" was hugely popular, and the game's star, the hulking clown Needles "Sweet Tooth" Kane, became an easily identifiable figure. He drives an ice cream truck. He wears a leather daddy fetish harness. And of course, he's an evil clown built like a 1980s big hoss wrestler.
Peacock recently adapted the games into a series, turning the explosive games into a weirdly addictive post-apocalyptic action comedy. Since Sweet Tooth exists solely behind his demented clown mask, the creative team was wise to enlist comedian, actor, and prominent voice-over performer Will Arnett to give Sweet Tooth his personality.

Ever since the Beatles first crossed the Atlantic, in 1964, major concerts have largely taken place at venues built for sports, even though that often means poor sight lines for many fans, and less-than-optimal sound for most everybody. But a new era of live entertainment begins in late September, when U2 christen the “Sphere” in Las Vegas. The 366-foot-tall, 516-foot-wide geometric shape near the Venetian hotel completely reinvents every aspect of the rock-concert experience from the ground up, and is the culmination of seven years of work, with a budget that reportedly swelled beyond $2 billion.

The song -- also entitled "GoldenEye" -- features Turner at her best, and the simplicity of the music video, helmed by prolific video director Jake Scott (son of Sir Ridley Scott), is powerful. The glamorous Turner appears in a stunning white dress and belts out the tune in her gorgeous voice, telling a pretty dark story as she does so. The whole thing is intercut...

With over 100 acting credits to his name, many of which are bonafide legendary performances, Anthony Hopkins has proven himself time and again as one of the best actors of his generation, and possibly of all time. After graduating from London's famed Royal Academy of Dramatic in 1963, Hopkins began his career on the stage, tackling the bard, as well as classic and modern plays at the Royal Court Theatre and The Old Vic. He also regularly appeared on British television, taking on episodic guest roles in shows like "The Man in Room 17" and "Department S."
In 1968's "The Lion in Winter, " Hopkins had his cinematic breakout role as Richard the Lionheart. Often remembered for the best actress tie between Katharine Hepburn (as Eleanor of Aquitaine) and Barbra Streisand (for "Funny Girl") at the Academy Awards, "The Lion in Winter" saw Hopkins more than hold his own against stalwarts Hepburn and Peter O'Toole.

U2’s the Edge explained the chemistry behind his and Bono’s songwriting process in a new interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “It’s not like Lennon and McCartney where there’s two guys [and] the rivalry probably made them better,” he told Lowe while sitting beside Bono. “They’re also basically doing the same thing – singers and songwriters. I do a lot of music composition, but I need Bono to finish the song, so we complement each other; we don’t ever cancel each other out. It’s additive.

Just how intimate would you like your relationship with Bono to get? Because there are moments during U2’s latest release – a lo-fi reimagining of their stadium rockers – when his stadium-weary croon is so high in The Edge’s production mix that you can practically feel his stubble brushing your earlobes. Listening to Songs of Surrender with airpods almost made me reach for a Q-tip to wipe away his spittle from my eardrums.
The idea for the album – which features 40 unplugged versions of classics like “One”, “Beautiful Day” and “Pride (In the Name of Love)” alongside deeper cuts from the band’s long career – arose in the muffled mood of lockdown. Maybe the earnest, common room strumming and sombre piano would have resonated more powerfully had it been released back then, when time bent to make sense of such lengthy releases. But it’s 2023 now, and we need the wide-horizon...

It’s been a packed seven days of all sorts of “Parties & Premieres” here in Hollywood, as Oscar Week is finally here, after what seemed like a full year of studios campaigning via special events for Academy Award glory. Ironically, two of the biggest things that happened were TV events as the casts of both “Ted Lasso” and “House of the Dragon” hit Tinseltown to remind everyone that movies are definitely not the only thing people watch these days. Fabulous women were feted all over town, fashion was at the forefront and the Irish contingent partied hard in the name of Oscar Wilde, one of history’s all-time party lovers.

The jokes were zipping as David Letterman got together on stage in Los Angeles Wednesday night with two of his favorite musicians – U2’s Bono and The Edge – for the world premiere of the Disney+ documentary Bono and The Edge: A Sort of Homecoming with Dave Letterman. But it was The Edge who landed the first barb.
At the Q&a for the film, which revolves around Bono and Edge working on reimagined versions of U2’s canon in Dublin, with Letterman as their white-bearded interlocutor, Edge was asked why he and his bandmate thought to bring Letterman along on their cinematic journey.
“Well, being honest, the first idea was Jay Leno,” he cracked. More earnestly, he added, “We’re huge fans, have been for a long time. We’ve known Dave for many years and he was foolish enough once to invite us to play for an entire week on The Late Show.

Cocaine Bear, hitting theaters Feb. 24 from Universal, doesn’t mark Hollywood’s first fascination with bears, although it might be the only project about the animal’s rampage after ingesting a massive amount of the titular drug.
Taking a more naturalistic approach was 1988’s The Bear, which told the story of an adult bear befriending an orphaned cub as they flee human hunters. Director Jean-Jacques Annaud, who won the foreign-language Oscar for 1976’s Black and White in Color, adapted James Oliver Curwood’s 1916 novel The Grizzly King for the film. Annaud considered 50 bears as the adult grizzly, eventually casting a 1,500-pound Kodiak named Bart the Bear, later seen in White Fang (1991), Legends of the Fall (1994) and The Edge (1997). Cinematographer Philippe Rousselot recalls the challenges of using real animals — the two bears could rarely be filmed together.

Today Disney+ has released a new trailer for the upcoming docu-special "Bono & The Edge: A Sort of Homecoming, with Dave Letterman." Not only are we getting a chance to watch U2's Bono and The Edge head back to Dublin, but they're also taking the talk show host with them for his first-ever visit to Ireland. The band members have been friends with Letterman for 25 years, but they've never been off U.S. soil together.
The whole thing is set to coincide with the release of U2's new album "Songs of Surrender," which is "a collection of 40 seminal U2 songs from across the band's catalog, re-recorded and reimagined." The use of "reimagined" is interesting here because, in the trailer, Letterman mentions the changing of lyrics to some of the songs as things have changed in their lives. He introduces the band members to a crowd at a concert, which...

The ongoing war in Ukraine adds a timely resonance to Nenad Cicin-Sain’s documentary about the underground art and music movement that sprung up in Sarajevo during the 1990s Bosnian War. Not that it was needed, since Kiss the Future would have the same power anytime in a world perpetually marked by armed conflict. This moving and inspirational film premiering at the Berlin Film Festival also boasts a commercial hook in the form of the band U2, who figure prominently in the proceedings via both archival footage and contemporary interviews with members Bono, The Edge and Adam Clayton.
Based on the 2004 memoir Fools Rush In by Bill S. Carter, who also wrote the screenplay and provides frequent onscreen commentary, the film revolves around the nearly four-years-long Siege of Sarajevo by the Bosnian Serbs. As a result, its inhabitants were essentially trapped, including many young people who were intent on reaffirming...

A Super Bowl commercial confirmed today what has long been suspected: U2 will take up residency in the brand-new Msg Sphere in Las Vegas for an immersive show that mines the band’s catalog.
U2 has been in a retrospective mood of late. Lead singer Bono has been making the rounds to promote his memoir, Surrender. On Friday, the band will release its long-awaited Songs Of Surrender ― a collection of 40 songs from across the band’s catalog, re-recorded and reimagined. And now, the band has confirmed the Vegas residency that will be focused on one of its most iconic albums.
Dubbed “U2:uv Achtung Baby Live At The Sphere,” the residency will celebrate the band’s darker, post-Joshua Tree turn that resulted in the 1991 album Achtung Baby and hits like “One,” “Mysterious Ways,” “The Fly” and “Even Better Than The Real Thing.”
The residency will take place at the brand-new Msg Sphere at the Venetian.

U2 frontman, Bono, left nothing out of his new memoir, Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story, released in November 2022. The singer opened up about the band wanting to leave music behind to join a Christian community, receiving threats from the Ira, and Bono’s family nearly getting kidnapped.
These are some of the juiciest tidbits about U2 and the legendary rock star wrote about in his book.

Tom Kenny has been delighting children for decades as America's favorite undersea fry cook, SpongeBob SquarePants. It's an iconic character that has become a pop culture institution, but many fans may not know that Kenny himself is a beloved voice actor beyond his pineapple under the sea. The East Syracuse native has provided voices for well over 500 films, television shows, and video games; from major protagonists to wacky sidekicks to merely additional voices, Kenny has done it all.
Because his role as SpongeBob is so ubiquitous, animation enthusiasts can often spot his stylings from a mile away. Let's face it, there's just nobody who does a fun, nasally character voice like Kenny. However, the man has multitudes. He can be an authoritative narrator in one moment, then a goofy geezer in the next. He even has a few characters where his voice is near-unrecognizable, highlighting the lengths Kenny can go...

A warning: the series debuted on Adult Swim in 2006, airing late at night, and it did just about everything possible to push the envelope, so some of the jokes have aged pretty poorly. However, if you can look past a few gags that absolutely wouldn't fly in 2022 (and for good reason), "Frisky Dingo" is a wildly funny and oddly prescient little cartoon,...

There are a surprising number of terrifying bears in cinema history, but Elizabeth Banks thinks that the bear in her upcoming film "Cocaine Bear" could defeat them all. The bear featured in "Cocaine Bear," affectionately called "Cokey," is a masterwork of CGI animation technology and a motion-rigged performance from Allan Henry, but if he were a real bear, Banks thinks he could even take on the bear in Alejandro González Iñárritu's 2015 survival thriller "The Revenant." "The Revenant" bear almost makes a meal out of Leonardo DiCaprio, but it was also a computer-generated bit of wizardry, and it wasn't on cocaine, so maybe she has a point.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Banks served as a one-person hype squad for the digital bear, explaining that he was based on real bears as much as possible and is basically the ultimate killer movie bear. Watch out, bear from "The Edge...

Landing on Sky’s U.K. arm as England’s cricketers enter the knockout phase of this winter’s T20 World Cup, Ashley Gething’s one-off documentary “The Greatest Game” benefits from innately dramatic raw material. Held at Lord’s in 2019, the one-day World Cup final between England and New Zealand was quickly framed by some experts as the most thrilling cricket game ever witnessed: a high-stakes encounter before a roaring full house at the sport’s spiritual home with an outcome that remained in doubt until the last ball of a so-called “superover” — rare and unusual occurrence that effectively serves as a tiebreak.

“Lord of the Rings” star Elijah Wood is to return to New Zealand in the leading role of “Bookworm,” a family adventure-comedy to be directed by Ant Timpson. The project is being launched next week at the American Film Market by sales agent Mister Smith Entertainment.
The film’s story sees 12-year-old Mildred’s life turned upside down when her mother lands in hospital and estranged, American magician father, Strawn Wise (Wood), comes to look after her. Hoping to entertain the bookish tween, Strawn takes Mildred camping in the notoriously rugged New Zealand wilderness. There the pair embark on the ultimate test of family bonding – a quest to find the mythological beast known as the Canterbury Panther.
Considering that Mildred has read every book on camping, but never been into the wilds, and that Strawn is more at home on the Las Vegas strip than in the Southern Alps, the potential for mishap is significant.
