- Health Care 911: The Plight of Immigrant Doctors is a point of view documentary told through the eyes of Kurdish immigrant and filmmaker Jiyar Gol as he follows the lives of a group of immigrant doctors struggling to find work in Canada's health care system. Viewers will meet newly arrived immigrants who are trying to enter the system, as well as others who have been in Canada for several years and have yet to obtain their medical board certification. We witness the dual lives of these trained health care professionals...once esteemed workers in their homelands who now find themselves working blue collar jobs or as menial laborers. Thought-provoking, compassionate, and sometimes unbelievable, Health Care 911 exposes the catastrophic waiting game of the doctor shortage and shows that the system might be the "sickest" of them all.
- The Big "V" offers a unique, honest, and vulnerable look into the personal lives of 14 modern day virgins ranging in ages from 18 to 61. Viewers will meet one woman who had her first kiss at the altar, a recovering sex addict turned born-again virgin, a teen who has taken a pledge of abstinence, a young Muslim woman who is secretly getting her hymen reconstructed, and the outspoken doctor who performs this delicate and controversial surgery.
- K-9 Corrections provides an intimate look into the lives of five Canadian women inmates and their relationships with the dogs they care for behind prison walls. Through innovative rehabilitation programs such as Freedom Kennels and Pawsitive Directions, inmates from all backgrounds are given the opportunity to transform shelter dogs into adoptable loving pets or simply care for animals boarding at the prison kennels. The unconditional love and companionship of the dogs allows the women to learn compassion, gain self-esteem, and develop a sense of accomplishment on their often rocky path to rehabilitation. Set in the only two Canadian women's prisons with canine programs - the Nova Institution For Women in Nova Scotia and the Burnaby Correctional Centre for Women in British Columbia, this documentary captures the unique caring relationship that develops between inmates and the dogs they come to love.
