- Late nineteenth century in a finishing school for young girls near in France, the principal, the fascinating Miss Julie, sows confusion in the heart of the newcomer, Olivia.

The host confesses the monk his habit of serving a soporific soup to the guests, to rob their possessions and to bury them in the backyard. The story unfolds as the monk tries to save the guest's lives without violating the holy secrecy of the confession.
- Caroline de Bienre, the 16-year-old daughter of French nobility, meets the handsome rogue, Gaston de Sallanches, who is expected to ask for the hand of her older, plainer sister in marriage. Gaston instead joins Caroline in her secret hiding place in the château's attic, where the infatuated Caroline begins an affair with him. Meanwhile, she is being courted by the dull, sincere Livio, but holds him off since she is in love with Gaston. When the revolution of 1789 breaks out Caroline is sent to a convent but her carriage is waylaid. She escapes and makes her way to Gaston's home, where she finds him in the arms of his mistress. She is angry and then agrees to marry Livio, now an out-of-favor revolutionary and a marked man, and Caroline is also now on the death list.
- After an accident Raymond has gone blind. His family treats him like a child. Fortunately, a nun comes to his rescue. She works in a center where blind people learn to read with the Braille alphabet.

- The story follows Franz Liszt from his time as an intense young music teacher in Paris, to his blossoming as a piano virtuoso and his infatuation for the Countess Marie D'Agoult, married and the mother of two young girls. She leaves her children and elderly husband to go into exile with Liszt. For a while---long enough to father three children out of wedlock---the composer is content but desires to get back into the limelight. He leaves their home for a month of concert bookings and never returns, leaving the Countess holding the bag...and three kids. The Paris Conservatory Orchestra plays brief bits of Lizst, Chopin and Shumann and the piano renditions are credited to Nikita Magaloff. Mila Parely, daintly smoking cigars, appears briefly as George Sand, confidante of the two lovers.
- Story is primarily based on the adventures of Antoine, a young telegraph messenger on his second night of work. He is given three telegrams, one of which is for the president of the Camber of Deputies. Excited, Antoine runs his bicycle into a truck and loses the telegrams. What follows is an amusing and agonizing search for the missing messages. He is assisted first by a glum, wise-beyond-her-years little girl, Amelie; an off-duty police superintendent, a schoolmaster, a cookie-tin maker and a fireman. The harmonica musical theme is played by Flore Falvey.
- Story opens in Switzerland in 1918 in the closing days of WW I and concerns Franck Villard, military attache to the Austrian delegation in Berne, and his French wife, Renee Saint-Cyr. Living in the neutral country has enabled the two to evade any claims which their two countries might make on their allegiances. Suddenly, Villard is asked to perform a hazardous mission aimed at putting in the hands of the French some highly secret (and bogus) Austrian military papers. Later, he appears to have been double-crossed by his superiors and is shot as a spy. His wife, furious, enlists as a spy for the Austrians and returns to France. Later in Vienna, as a highly successful Mati-Hari, she learns that her husband is not dead as reported but, by then, she is up to her neck in espionage.
