- Rohan Khanna leaves India hoping for a better life in America.
- Arjun Yadav return from the city after completing his studies to get settled in his village with his family consisting of his mother Devi Chaudaran, his older brother Amrit and sister. Arjun finds out that Amrit and Thakur Bhanwar Singh does not get along quiet well and attempts to be a peace-maker between the two. One day situation takes a turn for the worse when Amrit is killed, Devi Chaudaran loses her senses, Arjun's sister is raped and he himself is beaten and tied to a tree. Arjun is then rescued by some sympathetic villagers and run off with his childhood friend Makan Malla in the deep ravines only to turn an outlaw whose only motive is to avenge the killings of his family members.

He breaks out and narrates this incident to his friend and local Collector, Shafi and his wife, Sharda. He does meet the woman again in the dead of night, and after showing him the way, she disappears. Then Sharda asks Samir to wear a amulet at all times as it will protect from evil spirits. He does meet the woman again, this time in the middle of the desert, and is not heard of for two days. When Shafi orders the castle to be searched, a dungeon in particular, is where they find Samir in a state of near-death. How did Samir end up in a dungeon that has been sealed for hundreds of years, and what exactly is the mystery behind the woman, who Samir now calls Rewa?
- Anand lives a wealthy lifestyle in Bombay in a palatial house, and runs a business 'Export India'. While shopping at Roopsagar Clothing Store, he meets one of the Sales Clerks', Sharda, and falls in love with her. Shortly thereafter he proposes to her, she accepts, and both marry at the Registrar of Marriages. Sharda is shown around Anand's house, and the guest-house which houses his ex-convict father. Sharda soon settles in, establishes a Devi Maa Durga Mandir, but will find her life turning upside down when she discovers a deadly secret from Anand's past.

Years later, Pinky recognizes Raju as her brother and takes him home to grandpa, who accepts him immediately and provides for him with joy. Then a few days later some silver items are stolen from his house, and Raju is missing. Rai Bahadur is shocked and reports this matter to the police, and continues his search for his missing grandson. Is Raju really his grandson? Did he actually steal the silver items?
- Nisha believes she is happily married until she discovers that her successful businessman husband, Kabir, has been having an affair with her cousin, Indu. Distraught, Nisha abandons her husband and newborn daughter and leaves for the city, where she finds love in the arms of a sensitive writer, Alok. But Nisha's past soon catches up to her and forces her into a soul-searching decision over whether or not to return to her family and old life.
- Johny, Govinda, and Iqbal Ali are three close friends who live in a small community in Bombay. The threesome get together to help each other and other needy people in the community, and hence get in the bad books of a local gangster who calls himself DK. Tragedy strikes Govinda, when his mom passes away. At the time of the funeral, Govinda is re-united with his dad, Advocate Verma, who has been missing for years. Then a police inspector gets Johny to meet his biological mother, Mary. The three friends rejoice over this good fortune. Then Johny finds out that Advocate Verma was behind the atrocities that were inflicted on his mom years ago, and he goes there to confront Verma, only to come against an enraged Govinda, who cannot believe his father is capable of committing any atrocities against anyone. It is now up to Iqbal to find a solution to end the enmity between Govinda and Johny, before DK takes advantage of this situation.

Some goons attempt to molest Indu, a scuffle ensues, she is abducted and subsequently thrown down a cliff, and the car with the molesters in it explodes. Thinking that Indu is dead, Raj loses his mind and is institutionalized in C.T. Mental Hospital under the care of Dr. Ram Kumar Verma. When Raj gets better, he is discharged, finds out that Indu is still alive, and goes to meet her and attempts to get intimate with her. It is then her husband, none other than Dr. Verma himself walks in, sees them together, and decides to kill them. He succeeds in killing Raj, but before he can kill Indu, he is arrested and institutionalized in the very same hospital where he works. One day he breaks out to finish his one and only mission: to kill Indu at all costs.
- Arun takes on the responsibility for the care of his step-mother (Sujatha) and step-sisters on the death of his father. Losses in business result in the sale of their palatial home, and Arun together with his wife (Neema - Shabana Azmi) move to a smaller house. Tensions escalate between Neema and Sujatha, even as Arun struggles financially to meet the needs of his family. Things come to a head when she sees her husband eating sweets from the hand of a beautiful woman doctor in a restaurant. Neema leaves her matrimonial home together with her son Abhinandan. Neema sells her jewelry to support her brother's education, without any return on her investment. She and Abhinandan live a life of genteel poverty on the charity of another brother. Divorce court judgment leaves Arun dissatisfied and resentful and he does not meet his son for years. Meanwhile, Neema feeling wronged and cheated by Arun thinks he has remarried and has a new child. The thread of the story begins to unravel when Abhinandan comes to Bombay for higher education. Does Abhinandan hate his father? Does he ride his Rajdoot-Bobby motorcycle from Bombay to Nasik? What happens when Neema and Arun come face to face, after many years in common grief, worry and concern for the well being of a loved one is to be watched.

Perturbed at this news, Chatrapal decides to protect Raju from the world, and makes him lead a secluded life within the four walls of the palace and it's surrounding grounds. Years later, Raju has grown up and his has arranged his marriage with a young woman of noble parentage. Raju is unhappy with this decision, and decides to run away with his bodyguard, Gulshan. They end up in Bombay city, where Raju starts to work as a waiter in a restaurant. He meets with and falls in love with a dancer and singer, Anita Sethi, who is the daughter of a wealthy man. Her father would like her to marry Jimmy Narang, son of the wealthy Mr. Narang, but Anita too falls in love with Raju. When JImmy finds out that Raju is a heir-apparent to Ramgad's throne, he tells Anita, who is angry with Raju for suppressing this information from her. Narang also informs Chatrapal, who sets off with an army, to bring Raju back to marry the woman he has chosen for him. Raju now has to make a choice - stay and be captured by his father's men; or run away elsewhere.
- Ram Kapoor comes from a poor family, while Kiran comes from a middle-class family. Ram and his brother, Shyam, commit petty thievery to sustain themselves. Ram meets Kiran and both fall in love and would like to get married. Kiran's dad is Police Inspector, Vijay Kumar, and does not approve of either Ram nor this marriage. Despite of this opposition, Kiran and Ram get married. After sometime, Kiran gets pregnant, and her mother, Madhu, comes to look after her. A gangster, Shakti, abducts both mother and daughter, and holds them for ransom. Vijay thinks that Ram and Shyam are behind this abduction so to get money from him, and launches a manhunt for them. Shyam is apprehended, while Ram is on the run. Ram must decide to hand himself over to the police, and let his wife and her mother be at the mercy of Shakti or continue to evade the police and search for Kiran and Madhu.
