- Humble lumberjack Gerald Kentworth inherits a fortune and moves to New York. Intoxicated by the glamor of the city's nightlife, he falls hard for society girl Adrean Wainwright, but Adrea's jealous ex-boyfriend, a gangster, kidnaps her.
- When the dominating financier takes the girl as his private secretary he secures not only an efficient girl but a beautiful one. It is then that his son decides to take an interest in business. His father suspects that his son has suddenly become imbued with business affairs because of the striking young woman secretary he has engaged and tells him that if he intends to go into business he can do so but he does not want him about the office. The son is unsuccessful in many deals and when some bonds are missing the guilty parties manage to successfully charge him with stealing them. In the meantime he had been visiting the charming young secretary of his father and often met his father's cashier coming out of the apartment. He had become furiously jealous and the climax came when he discovered his sweetheart in the arms of the cashier. It is when he is accused of stealing the bonds that he begins to realize that his father's cashier and the pretty secretary are in a plot to ruin his father. And right here is where the story becomes intensely interesting and the suspense is finally lifted. Of course the business rivals become staunch friends again as of yore. But the lovers have come over a rough road in their romance and a pleasant future is also assured for them.
- A young air mail pilot arouses the wrath of the father of the girl he loves, the result being that he is forbidden to see her. However, he finds that his rival plans to rob the air mail. The villain makes his haul, tries to shift the blame on others but the air mail pilot and the girl pursue him and bring him down to earth where he gets his just deserts.
- Paquita, a skilled rider, refuses to marry the unscrupulous Don Juan Gonzales, despite the wishes of her tyrannical stepfather. Paquita has fallen in love with Ramon, whom she rescued when he was being attacked by El Diablo, a proud, wild horse. Paquita's father forces her to dance at a disreputable tavern, and there, she again meets Ramon, who bests Juan in a fistfight. Paquita informs Ramon that she intends to regain control of her family's estates, even if she must marry the rich, anonymous American who purchased them. Soon after, Paquita's father shoots Juan and attempts to frame Ramon for the crime. The mob gathered by the father is determined to lynch Ramon, but El Diablo appears and scatters them. The police uncover the truth about the crime and arrest Juan, who has recovered from his wound. Paquita then learns that Ramon is the rich American who bought her family estates.
- Don Rafael is the son of Argentinean rancher Don José, in a long feud with his brother, Don Escamillo, who yearly offers a "gift of hate." Don José sends his son to spy on the enemy, and he falls in love with his daughter, Mariquita.

- The owner of a shipping company arranges to have his worthless son, Glenn Martin, shanghaied and treated roughly on one of his ships, skippered by the hard Captain Svenson. The son learns of the plan and escapes, while clerk Dick Barlow, betrothed to Glenn's sister, Miriam, is taken instead. The clerk makes good under Glenn's name, until a visit by Miriam reveals Dick's true identity.
