Other fine actors in the cast include the always popular Bryant Washburn and a young Bob Steele, who appears under his real name Bob Bradbury Jr. The story takes place in the 1860s or 1870s near Spirit Lake, Iowa. Settlements of whites are growing in that region but the Sioux Indians also have professed their interest in one such settlement. Chief Sitting Bull surveys the settlement at Spirit Lake from afar and with the advice of the Great Spirit vows to retake the land that belonged to his fathers.

Paul becomes governor of Utah while Brand partners with George Barton in a ranch. The owner of the adjacent ranch plots to get Barton and Brand out of the way in order to control water rights. When Governor Marsden comes to the area to investigate, Brand sees the resemblance between them, though neither knows about his twin. Brand waylays Paul and takes his place as governor in an attempt to thwart the crooked rancher in the water-rights scheme.

When Jacob leaves the country the blackmailer decides to use Yukio for other jobs and make her his partner.

Through Warren's care, the girl recovers and their friendship ripens into love. Warren leaves Allie at trapper Slingerland's cabin when he goes to the nearby town of Benton to buy provisions. In his absence, Jose Durade, claiming that Allie is his daughter, goes to the trapper's cabin, kills Slingerland and abducts the girl. Returning to find Allie gone, Neale, half crazed, searches for her until he collapses in exhaustion and is cared for by "Beauty" Stanton, the dance hall mistress who loves the engineer. Beauty learns that Durade is holding Allie at his dance hall, rescues the girl and brings her to Neale. Durade, in revenge, gathers his gang together at Beauty's place where in the ensuing battle, both Durade and Beauty are mortally wounded. In her dying moments, Beauty offers the lovers her blessing and they set out together to finish Neale's work on the U.P. Trail.
- Railroad engineer Bill Buckley narrowly averts injury to Esther Miller, the daughter of the president of the company, when she falls on the tracks in front of his speeding train. In receiving a reward from Mr. Miller, Bill becomes involved in the villainous schemes of Raymond McKim, Mr. Miller's personal secretary, who makes it appear that Mrs. Buckley has been unfaithful to Bill and attempts to force Esther to marry him (McKim). Bill's son, Johnny, interferes on Esther's behalf; McKim receives his just deserts; and all ends happily.

Dan Overton, a young prospector, becomes interested in her and takes her to live with white people in a boardinghouse. She is introduced by Dan to his mining partner, Harris, as "Montana Rivers," the daughter of a partner of his, but Harris recognizes her as "Lee Holly's brat" and denounces her. Dan defends her, and after Harris suffers a paralyzing stroke, he relents and makes her a partner in their mine. Holly comes to their camp after they strike gold and is killed by Harris, who learns that Tana is the daughter who was stolen from him. Dan's unfaithful wife is killed by a jealous lover, freeing him to marry Tana.

- A prize fighter, The Walloping Kid, is forced to give up boxing because of interference from his wealthy father and travels west to run his father's ranch. A case of mistaken identity at the train station by the shady foreman, who is using the ranch for nefarious purposes, leads to a stranger posing as the son. The Walloping Kid is more than happy to let the misunderstanding continue so that he can take on the identity of a wanted outlaw and be free to investigate what's really going on at the ranch... and maybe also romance a young woman named Sally who is in the area with her prospector dad who has found gold. The stranger who is posing as the son turns out to be the wanted outlaw. He tries to collect "rent" from Sally. She fights him off twice. On the second occasion, The Walloping Kid rides onto the scene and chases after the stranger/real outlaw leading to a fight on the railroad tracks with an oncoming locomotive. Both survive but the outlaw flees. The Walloping Kid and Sally sport a pair of fun hats while attending a large fiesta celebrating California's statehood. There's a $500 challenge to defeat Wild-Cat McGee in a boxing match. Wild-Cat makes short work of the local talent until The Walloping Kid enters the ring. Afterwards, The Walloping Kid learns one of the men on the ranch is an undercover detective sent by his father. While The Walloping Kid presumably presents evidence of the foreman's rustling to the sheriff (it isn't shown on screen), the detective follows the outlaw who follows the prospector to his mine. But the outlaw kills the detective and tricks the prospector into thinking he did it. The outlaw immediately blackmails the prospector for half the gold and blackmails Sally into accepting his marriage proposal. The Walloping Kid sees the outlaw and Sally kissing and, to protect her father, she's unable to tell him the truth. The prospector confesses the killing to the sheriff and The Walloping Kid but forensics proves it wasn't his gun. The Walloping Kid lassos and ties up the outlaw before he can escape and ends the movie on a high note smooching with Sallly.

At the same time, a young American man is informed that he will come into a large sum of money if he reaches a certain bank by a given date. The two must overcome a variety of obstacles that stand in the way of their getting the money.
- A young man has a chance to become partners in an auto-repair business, but he doesn't have the money. In order to come up with some quick cash, he decides to temporarily become a professional boxer. The problem is that he isn't an athlete, knows nothing about boxing and stands a very good chance of getting the stuffing beaten out of him.
