In his office the theatre manager Frank listens to the former star Lydia Loo, who is complaining bitterly for being thrown out of the revue, because the financier Reinhold has rejected her in favor of his new protégée. When Reinhold arrives to the office, she pulls a pistol, but the actor Fred Nissen takes the gun away. Nissen visits Carmen in her dressing room, wanting them to be lovers again, just as in the old days in the Western-Varieté. Reinhold enters, gets furious when seeing Nissen, who responds by pointing at him with Lydia's gun. It's time for Carmen Daviot to make her spectacular entrance in the revue. This ends with her, Nissen and the ballet performing a choreographed shooting act. During the act someone shoots Reinhold in his box from the stage, without the audience noticing it. Inspector Helder, who is in the theatre, immediately starts investigating the murder. Carmen believes that Nissen committed it, and tries to protect him, now knowing for sure that she loves him.
- In a state correctional institute for teenage girls, Madame Appel, the superintendent, rules with an iron fist. The State appoints thirty-year-old Yvonne to evaluate the situation. The young woman is convinced that the girls should feel wanted rather than be constantly subdued and is accordingly determined to make Madame Appel change her methods of education. On a private level Yvonne is secretly engaged to Guy Maréchal, the doctor serving the institute. Unfortunately for her, the latter starts flirting with Nelly, a beautiful but rebellious inmate. Another prisoner, Renée, who has discovered the romance, blackmails Nelly...
- Story is primarily based on the adventures of Antoine, a young telegraph messenger on his second night of work. He is given three telegrams, one of which is for the president of the Camber of Deputies. Excited, Antoine runs his bicycle into a truck and loses the telegrams. What follows is an amusing and agonizing search for the missing messages. He is assisted first by a glum, wise-beyond-her-years little girl, Amelie; an off-duty police superintendent, a schoolmaster, a cookie-tin maker and a fireman. The harmonica musical theme is played by Flore Falvey.

The real culprit will be unmasked after the police detective finds the murder has something to with the Occupation period.

She plays along for a while, but becomes ashamed when she sees how Vilbert is devoting his whole life to a child that she isn't carrying. She fakes a miscarriage and his kindness makes her feel guilty and she confesses, but he doesn't believe her. So she tries another plan.
