- This Flemish comical format, the title of which paraphrases the Italian wine-distillate since its first syllable "grap" is Dutch for joke and the notion spirit is used in terms for both alcoholic beverages and wit, has no permanent cast but just a pool of actors from which each episode draws, without a consistent story, for a series of successive short sketches -without any commentary- evoking 'classical' jokes which rarely have more in common then the presence of one archetypal character as butt and/or joker, such as the 'Hollander' (Dutchman: typical neighbor people-rivalry).

Meanwhile Carine behaves hostile when Mitch invites a friends circle for cards.
- Commissioner De Kee's friend Gustaaf Van Zand seeks help for his daughter Helena who claims to be cunningly stalked and harassed by her vindictive, recently paroled ex Gary Verstraeten. Even a cops stalk-out can't prevent more incidents and their adolescent son Elvis is bullied until he gets a gun and training. Van In illegally searches the fiend's home and arrests him, which only leads to judicial instructions to back off. Ivo however just can't stand by, because of a personal trauma. A recently released pimp whom Gary beat into hospital is the last suspect of his soon following murder.

The day before he had a fight with strict mathematics teacher Paul Theunis's son and pupil Paul Theunis. Popular literature teacher Ralf Roelandts calmed them down, but is later found to have his own dirty business. As staff nor pupils owe up, Mitch goes undercover as the school's long-awaited new floor supervisor.

- Pharmacy assistant Walter De Meester's wife Eline Vaesen (32) dies after eating a single of the white Cayatis chocolates he bought her as a make up gift after confessing a single adultery, from a high concentration of abandoned food additive causing cyanosis. No single other poisoned chocolate is found. Soon after, a tourist dies from another chocolate made by the same popular family manufacturer, run by Antoine and son Viktor Van de Walle. More deaths follow while the team investigates Viktor's vindictive ex, staff and competition.
- Ivo goes on trial for Gary's premeditated murder. His lawyer, Werner Van Hove, tries to shift the moral indignation to magistrate Hannelore Martens, but although he probably senses her infidelity with helpful, more opportunistic colleague Guy Van Steenkiste, Van In supports her. Ivo insists to let him help with the hunt for a pickpocket gang, perhaps the trio that escaped him in Antwerp, which already robbed Mitch's wallet.
- Event hostess Tine Engelen (23) is founded strangled at home. Employer Ignace Dewael suggests checking up on photographer Nick Van Avermaet, allegedly her stalker after she refused to become his intimate model-partner, who has no alibi. Van In suspects Ignace of cheating on his wife Monique D'Hulst, heiress-owner of the firm. Next P.I. Mercelis, whom Monique hired to check on Ignace, dies in a possible staged suicide by fall. His file gives Ignace an alibi, but Van In snoops on. Mitch goes on exchange to Rotterdam, his place being taken by blunt Tamara Meijer. Hannelore decides to tell Pieter she cheated with Guy but wants to remain with their family.
- Widowed bank investment counselor Jean is found down his staircase with a fatal head wound, but the apparent fall was staged. Van In lives alone since Hannelore confessed her adultery. He collaborates professionally with magistrate Guy Van Steenkiste, whom she cheated with, but she foolishly gets herself assigned to the case. Jean has at least one lover, the baker's wife. But he also placed a contact ad 'lottery winner seeks stable partner' and lost a fortune in client investments behind the banker's back.
- Van In is missing and it is soon clear that this is no ordinary disappearance: Van In has been kidnapped. When Hannelore hears about the news, she becomes scared. She doesn't know what to do, and luckily gets the visit of Guido Versavel, who is back in the country. Meanwhile Neels and Meijer find out what could have happened. It appears that a released pedophile, Yves Bauwens, is eager for revenge. Because of Van In, he had to spend ten years in prison. It is a race against the clock to safe the chief. It appears that Bauwens placed a bomb in the house of Hannelore and the children.
