- 1971–1977TV-14TV EpisodeErnest Borgnine and Dane Clark against Jan Murray and Leslie Nielson. Each team playing for a different home viewer. The two hosts seem to favor the team that is playing better on this show and it becomes clear early on that Leslie Nielson is the strongest player and that his team will win. Borgnine and Clark end up scoring in the 80s and Murray and Nielson score in the 160s. Good natured joking, especially from Jan Murray and Dane Clark go on throughout the episode, but even with the fun on the episode you can tell the actors feel competetive and are taking the game itself, seriously. Something interesting, but never explained or even mentioned is, Lorretta Swit is sitting right behind the players. A good feature in this episode that is not always there on the show or in competive bowling, is when the game goes past the ability, mathamattically for one team to win, all four players still play each frame the best that they can, which keeps the game interesting to watch to the end. It is fun to see classic stars being themselves and in this episode a lot is revealed through watching these four compete. Fun episode. Individual high scores--Nielson had 2 Strikes, Murray had 1 strike, Borgnine and Clark each had a spare.
