Doctor Henderson Edgar Buchanan, noted for his philanthropies to the local miners, advises Foss he can't run his horse for some time to come, and Foss takes a job with Jeannie, hauling water to Squatter's Flats, a desert waste which requires irrigation. Later, Zeke, carrying gold from Last Dog Ditch Mine to Silverado is robbed by a mysterious bandit called The Monk, and he suspects Foss. To clear himself, Foss suggests both stages take the next gold shipment and see who gets robbed and who doesn't. This strikes all-concerned as a good idea. But it turns out otherwise.

Elliott's plantation manager, is plotting with others to force Elliott to to sell his plantation. Adventurer Frank Hardy (Frank Buck)determines to find out who is behind the plot.

S. government for the manner in which a certain foreign power has obtained secret information during WWII. The commentator is brought to the secret headquarters of "David Harding, Counterspy" where he learns that the story was deliberately planted with the commentator to fool the enemy. Harding them tells, in flashback, a specific story to illustrate how counter-espionage works. Jerry Baldwin, a U.S. Navy officer is brought to a city where torpedoes are manufactured for the Navy, and his assignment is to find out information is leaking out to the enemy.

The three women help one another make it through to graduation day.

- In the 7th film of the "Crime Doctor" series based on the radio program, Dr. Robert Ordway (Warner Baxter) is summoned to take attend a diabetic, and gives an injection of insulin taken from a bottle in the patient's pocket. The man dies and Ordway discovers that what he thought was insulin was really poison. Oops! Two other people are murdered before Ordway discovers who replaced the insulin with poison and what the motive was.
- In the 7th of Columbia's "Whistler" series, truck-firm owner Steve Reynolds gets involved in a feud with a rival firm, and shortly thereafter is slugged by a masked assailant who steals the truck he is driving. The assailant runs down a policeman in the truck and leaves other clues pointing to Reynolds as the cop killer. With only a glove, with diamonds stuck in the thumb, as a clue, and while evading the police and other characters after him and the diamonds, Reynolds finally runs down the guilty party and clears himself.

- The wealthy Van Dyke family are constantly in the media for outrageous behavior, much to the frustration of patriarch Dan Van Dyke. His self-centered, bubble-headed wife has a fondness for foreign imports, including "pet projects" like dancers and such. His spoiled children Tony and Carol have constant run-ins with the law. When Dan himself ends up in the clink for five years for tax evasion, he becomes bunk-mates with ex-bootlegger Joe "Spots" Ricardi. Ricardi lectures him on being such a push-over for an out-of-control family, so a dying Dan makes Ricardi his estate trustee once he is released from prison. Ricardi is thrust into high society and must do everything he once nagged Dan to do in order to bring the unruly brats under control. This is even more difficult than it seems as Carol defies him at every turn, and his old gang is trying to get him back in the business.
