- They met 15 years ago on a French course - and have been friends ever since: the successful lawyer Caroline, the fragile-looking Judith, the stressed housewife Eva and the extravagant Estelle, co-owner of a flourishing pharmacy chain. Traditionally, the ladies not only spend every Tuesday evening together, but also a carefree weekend trip once a year. This time everything turns out differently: The newly widowed Judith wants to complete the pilgrimage to Lourdes in memory of her deceased husband Arne. Neither Caroline nor Eva and Estelle are enthusiastic about the prospect of marching over hill and dale for days, but as good friends they of course join the grieving Judith. What initially begins as a varied hike through the Pyrenees, however, soon turns out to be a sweaty exertion. The different temperaments increasingly lead to quarrels and mutual taunts. As if that weren't enough, Caroline's young professional colleague and admirer Paul suddenly appears and joins the team of four, which embarrasses the otherwise cool lawyer. On the stony path, the women face repressed conflicts and longings. Housewife Eva remembers that she originally wanted to be a doctor before she began to read every wish from the eyes of her spoiled family. The eccentric Estelle may keep her high standards and her pointed tongue, but she too is reaching her physical limits. Judith alone, with her husband's pilgrimage diary firmly in hand, does not want to let anything dissuade her from her path. It is becoming increasingly clear, however, that the descriptions in Arne's diary do not coincide with the routes that the four women follow. Judith just doesn't want to admit that. The revelation of the secret of Arne's pilgrimage diary harbors some explosive material that soon puts the friendship of the four to the test.
