- Two children in the countryside. Time lazily goes by on a hot month of August as they long for adventure.
- Iggy Pop narrates - in simple childlike verse - Nothing's weekend on Earth.
- When Bashir, a 75-year-old artist, watches the film Rambo III, he sees much more than Sylvester Stallone fighting against the Soviets in Afghanistan. In the mute and grainy desert background, Bashir sees the Negev Desert in the south of Israel and a document of his dispossessed tribal land. In the 1980s, he was hired to make the special effects for Rambo III. Today, Bashir returns to the desert film locations, where he finds material remnants and ruins left behind in the sand. Under a Blue Sun tells how desert lands were converted into military training zones and adopted as locations for big-budget action films. It is about the imaginaries projected onto the surface of the desert land and the possibility of finding a Rambo for the Bedouins.
- Focused on the world of wealthy Qatari sheikhs with a passion for amateur falconry, 'The Challenge' combines cinematic beauty with rare access and trailblazing form. Here, the opulence of Qatar is on full display, as the men race SUVs up and down sand dunes, fly their prized falcons around on private jets, and take their pet cheetah out for desert spins in their souped-up Lamborghini.
- An investigative portrait of the master of cinematic melodrama, Douglas Sirk. His life was the ultimate melodrama, from which all his films were inspired.
- Thirty years have passed since Marcel left Spain to escape military service. He relocated in the heart of the Costa Rican forest. A naked man living among the howling monkeys, in the shadow of a mythological creature. He practices Ayahuasca rituals, frequently in the company of young travelers looking for a mystical experience.
- Naho, Genki, Mau, Mimi and Ichika live in Yonaguni, a Japanese island that looks like a rock, about a hundred kilometers from Taiwan. They are fifteen years old and in a few months, they will have to leave it. Their lives, their desires, their words could be the last traces of a disappearing world.
- The ghost of French painter Paul Gauguin, whose late works evoked the Marquesas Islands of the colonial era, hovers over this short film, w as residents of the area are interviewed and local contemporary art is featured.
- In Calcutta, Trupti Jayin is a renowned hypnotherapist specialized in guiding her patients through their past incarnations. Meanwhile a group of ghost hunters tracks the restless spirits that haunt the city.
- Porto Maurizio, where the director, who lives in France today, grew up, is located on the Ligurian coast. The village is the starting point for a cinematic journey into the past that spans a surprisingly wide arc to a time when Muslim pirates, the corsairs, haunted the Mediterranean and took Europeans as slaves. To this end, the film light-handedly draws from the rich fund of film history and its iconography. Adventure films from the 1940s and historical murals depict the naval battles of the early 19th century in powerful images. The director ingeniously combines such visual finds with analogue new recordings of a journey with two friends. Their seemingly loosely told anecdotes and chance encounters combine to form a coherent whole, forming a geopolitical system of coordinates around the Mediterranean that deals with eurocentrism, colonial history and religiously motivated conflicts between Christian and Islamic countries. The subjects couldn't be more topical.
- A son is sitting at the bedside of his father, who is approaching the end of his life. Several years after I filmed this scene, I decided to look back at this crucial moment of my existence. It became the starting point of an epistolary film addressed to my father, an architect who dedicated his life to his art, often at the expense of his loved ones. Between fear and love, admiration and rejection, this film is an attempt to create a dialogue after death, a final confrontation before the final goodbye.
