- The Fowler Studio Varieties shorts were a series of one-reel musical shorts shot in Los Angeles that featured vaudeville acts and musical artists. They do not feature episode numbers or any crew credits. This reel features three musical numbers. The first is Ray West and his Columbia Recording Orchestra performing the 1929 popular song "Beside An Open Fireplace" (Paul Denniker and Will Osborne). Next up is the choral vaudeville group the Collegiate Four singing "I'll Be With You". The final number is Mademoiselle Fumi (billed as Mlle. Fumi) and Her Dancing Beauties. The chorus girls are dressed up as Japanese Geishas and don't do much dancing. But Ms. Fumi is very limber and does some amazing dance steps. The first part of their performance is to the accompaniment of the 1916 composition "A Japanese Sunset" (written by Jessie L. Deppen).
