- Benjamin Sultana dies in a fire while attempting to save a woman that he saw in a window. When he wakes up, he finds out that he is now a ghost. He then meets Donna Amelia ( the woman that he saw in the window) Emmanuel; a man who died in the second world war, Ciccio; the man who crashed into and accidentally killed Emmanuel, Gabel ; a man who died while hiding in a cupboard, Ludovigo; the former owner of the building and his wife Antoinette. Benjamin later finds out that Percival; the son of Ludovigo and Antoinette, burned down the former palace to get insurance money because he was bankrupt. Eventually the group meets some new ghosts and the story goes on.

Meanwhile, Paps decides he needs a radical plan if he is to get his life back on track. What he needs is nothing short of a miracle. In spite of their mutual dislike, Paps and Princess soon discover they desperately need one another if they are to pull out from a rapidly deteriorating series of events ignited by Paps's master plan.

The Lordling rents out the rest of the apartments to a colourful assortment of unsuspecting tenants drawn from all walks of life. Through a series of predicaments where one crisis follows another, the viewer watches the story of the two parties, the dead and the living, through their troubles, their love affairs and the perennial struggle to somehow coexist.
