- The first film adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic novel about a land where prehistoric creatures still roam.
- A Manhattan playboy falls in love with a mysterious European woman whom he notices as an exact double for a famous socialite who disappeared at the turn of the century. At first, he thinks it's just pure coincidence, as the beautiful young woman he's currently romancing is much younger than the woman who vanished years before, but he soon starts to believe that it's not such a coincidence after all.

When they grow up David and Roma become engaged. Dr. Roselli dies, and David and Bruno join the army when war erupts. Roma becomes a well-known sculptor, backed by Baron Bonelli, who is secretly the head of the Rome branch of the Communist party. Returning from the war, David becomes a follower of Benito Mussolini. Complications ensue when David finds out that Roma is backed by Baron Bonelli, his arch-enemy.
- Wealthy Bruce MacAllister is goaded by his fiancée, Helen Sumner, into proving that he is a man of action rather than a pampered youth. After telling his estate administrator, Eugene Preston, that he is going east for a meeting, Bruce dons a disguise and infiltrates the San Francisco, CA, underworld. Bruce is mistaken for master criminal "The Chicago Kid" and finds himself leading the gang in a robbery of his own fortune in diamonds. When he discovers Eugene's intention to steal the jewels for himself, the loot changes hands many times. Helen summons the police, the criminals are arrested, and Bruce wins her respect.
- Infamous Mexican bandit Pancho López recognizes Gilbert Jones as the man who once saved his life; therefore, when Jones is in danger of losing his ranch for default of mortgage payment, López determines to help him. At the same time, Morgan Pell, intending to cheat Jones out of his potentially oil-rich property, offers him a sum of money, which Jones conditionally accepts. When López discovers that Jones and Mrs. Pell are in love he has Pell shot, then robs a local bank, pays the mortgage, and returns the cattle he has stolen. With Mr. Pell out of the way and the ranch secure, Jones and Mrs. Pell are free to marry.
- Abe Potash and Morris Perlmutter, partners in a garment company, hire Boris Andrieff, a poor Russian violinist, as a fitter. Boris falls in love with Irma Potash to the disappointment of Abe, who had hoped for his daughter to marry Feldman, a wealthy lawyer. The violinist is arrested after a labor agitator is shot on the company premises, and the scandal threatens to ruin Potash and Perlmutter. However, the man recovers, and Boris marries Irma with her father's blessing.
- Dulcy (Constance Talmadge), a devoted but scatterbrained bride, tries to improve her absent husband's finances by inviting two of his business prospects to dinner. Though at first thoroughly confusing the deal, she does get her husband a bigger share than he bargained for.
- Young London architect Horace Ventimore stumbles across an old brass bottle. When he picks it up a genie suddenly appears and promises Horace that he will grant every wish Horace wants in exchange for his freedom. Horace accepts the genie's offer but finds out that things aren't working out quite as well as he thought they would.
- When Empress Catherine of France launches an attack on French Protestants known as Huguenots, the Comte de la Roche saves the life of his enemy, the Huguenot Rupert de Vrieac, by making him an indentured servant in his castle. Rupert falls in love with Yolande, the count's sister, and finds that his rival for the fair Yolande's hand is none other than the despicable Duc de Tours, a notorious torturer of Huguenots.
- War veteran James Henry "Jimmy" MacTavish returns to his hometown in the West to see his childhood sweetheart, June Carpenter. Despite his penchant for doing good deeds, Jimmy soon finds himself robbed of his clothes and money, and accused of kidnapping a child. Because the townspeople believe he was killed in the war, Jimmy is then jailed as an impostor, while others attempt to claim his inheritance. Jimmy's identity is ultimately verified, the townspeople give him a hero's welcome, and he is reunited with June.
- Through circumstantial evidence, Yvonne Desmarest is branded by Judge Duroacher as the "other woman" in a sensational murder case. She retreats to her father's hunting lodge near Hudson Bay, Canada, where she meets Scarborough, an Indian girl, and Émile (an old trapper who becomes her protector). Realizing his error, Duroacher follows Yvonne, thus precipitating a series of events in which the judge is suspected of murdering Scarborough, and Émile injures Duroacher out of jealousy. Yvonne's name is cleared, as is that of Émile, who has been sought for many years on a murder charge. Yvonne and Duroacher realize their love for each other.
- Janet Loring is a young widow with a young son. She marries millionaire Malcolm Trask, but doesn't tell him about her previous marriage or her son Ranny. Abandoned to the streets by Janet, Ranny eventually moves in with a bookseller and her granddaughter Margy. As the years go by, Janet comes to regret abandoning her son and takes out ads looking for him. Marcio, a vicious blackmailer, sends Ranny to Janet posing as her son, not knowing that the young boy actually is her son. Complications ensue.
- In the war-like times of Oliver Cromwell, in and around 'olde Oxford towne', Dutchman Karl Van Kerstenbrook, Dutch soldier-of-fortune and sword-for-hire, stands ready to defend his lady-love, the fair Thomsine Musgrove, and prove his nettle, and that his blade is made of the finest metal.
- A young woman trying to make it in Hollywood decides that the only way she can attain stardom is to go the "vamp" route, although in her private life she's nothing like her on-screen character. She gets the recognition she wants, but for the wrong reason--she finds herself in the middle of a notorious society scandal.
- Young Terwilliger, an orphan boy in New York City, "adopts" Old Archer, the caretaker of Gramercy Park, after the man is arrested for beating Terwiliger for picking a flower for his dead mother. As Terwilliger grows up, he falls in love with Helen Raymond, a pretty neighborhood girl, but finds a rival for her in Harvey Livermore. When World War I breaks out both boys enlist in the army and are sent to the front lines. Complications ensue.
