- Flora Hawks is in love with the overseer of Tarzan's African estate. After a search for a legendary city of diamonds, Tarzon races with his pet lion Jad-bal-ja to save Haws from being sacrificed to a lion-god.
- World War hero James Lewis MacFarlane, tired of being shunted from one government hospital to another for a wound that will not heal, runs away when he learns that he has but a year to live. He is befriended by The Bee Master, who is ill and soon dies. Jamie inherits half of the estate and apiary, with the other half going to "Little Scout," an 11-year-old girl who dresses as a boy. He marries a girl about to drown herself because she is to bear a child out of wedlock; his "wife" disappears immediately afterward, leaving a note signed "Alice Louise MacFarlane." With the aid of a neighbor, Margaret Cameron, Jamie soon recovers his health. He is notified that his "wife" has given birth to a son, but when he arrives at the hospital Jamie discovers another woman wearing his ring. She dies, and Molly Cameron (Mrs. Cameron's daughter), the girl he really married, appears and confesses that she married Jamie to get her sister Alice a wedding ring and a marriage certificate to protect her reputation. All ends well, and Jamie remarries Molly.

- American sculptress Adele La Rue, working in Paris, lacks the inspiration to create a masterpiece, until Jean Ballard, a wild apache leader, takes refuge from the police in her apartment. Adele saves him from capture on the condition that he pose as the model for one of her works. Adele and Jean fall in love, finding happiness with each other until Marie, Jean's former love, insults him by telling him he is no better than a rich woman's lap dog. Jean returns to the underworld and becomes involved in a gang war with a rival gang, the Wolves. Looking for Jean, Adele goes to a cafe he is known to frequent, where she is abducted by the Wolves. When Jean comes to rescue her, he is also captured. The Wolves heat knives with which to torture the reunited lovers, but before they can be used, the police arrive and open fire on the Wolves' hideout. During the excitement, Marie, who has joined the Wolves, repents of her hate and releases Adele and Jean. They jump from an open window just as the hideout is destroyed by artillery fire. Jean decides to repent, and the lovers look forward to a romantic future together.
- Two orphans, a near-blind architect, and a kindly young secretary form a makeshift family as they overcome financial hardships, while also thwarting the designs of both a loutish suitor and a persistent truant officer.

Later, Bart surprises the foreman in the act of robbing the safe at the express office; the men fight, the station agent is killed, and Bart is accused of the crime. He frees himself, brings the foreman to justice, and reveals himself to be the real owner of the Lawrence ranch.

- Following a political coup in the Balkan kingdom of Roxenburg, young King Alexis and his American governess Janet Holbrooke flee to America but are pursued by two Roxenburg officers. Out west, Tom Potter, a rancher, gives them shelter. A neighbor, Henry Storne, holds the mortgage on the ranch but is lenient because of his daughter Cynthia's interest in Tom. Resentful of Janet's presence, Cynthia informs the Roxenburg officers about Alexis, whom they kidnap, but Tom overtakes their car and rescues the boy. Cynthia then induces her father to foreclose on the ranch. During Tom's absence, the Roxenburgians again abscond with Alexis and Janet, but in a desperate ride Tom overcomes the officers. The elder Storne relents in his foreclosure proceedings, assuring the happiness of Janet and Tom.
- Bill Duncan returns to his home town and conceals his identity because of a longstanding feud with the Flynne family. However, he is soon found out and arrested for the murder of rancher Red Flynne. The dead man's estate has been bequeathed jointly to Rolfe McPherson, his foreman, and Helen, his daughter, who believes that her father wished her to marry Rolfe, unaware that he plotted the murder. After Bill escapes, Rolfe's housekeeper discloses her employer's guilt. Rolfe kidnaps Helen and rides for the Mexican border, but Bill comes to the rescue, brings the villain to justice, and wins Helen.
- Tammany Burke, young owner of a giant roller coaster, is fighting heavy odds against a syndicate led by financial baron Hughey Cooper. Assisted by his sweetheart, Joan, and her father, Jingles Wellman, formerly a clown, Burke prepares for a sabotage of his machine by syndicate hirelings. In the midst of a great battle the riot squad arrives to arrest the troublemakers, and Burke and his sweetheart are left in happy possession of their roller coaster.
- The Driscolls learn that the Brown family's homestead has valuable marble deposits under it, and they scheme to acquire the property. They and the Browns all learn that the land title was never filed with the county registration office, and it becomes a break-neck race between them and their henchmen, and the Browns' friend Tom O'Brien to get to the land-office first.

Complications ensue when her former fiancé comes to London to get her back..
- Tom Markham is the foreman of an Arizona dude ranch. He travels to the "big city" for a meeting with the ranch's owner, George Brooks, after which he will accompany Brooks' daughter Ellen back to the ranch. Brooks tells Tom about the Regent diamond, a valuable stone that Brooks has set in a ring for Ellen. Ellen's friend Rodney Stevens hears about it. Stevens, who is actually the boss of a bandit gang, has his men steal the diamond, but Tom manages to get it back. Stevens doesn't give up, though, and hatches a plan that will get him back the diamond and frame Tom for stealing it.
- Aviators meet in the New Mexico desert to experiment with gas for night skywriting, but end up rescuing a woman who is being pursued by a renegade foreman. The aviators foil a plan by the foreman to poison their water supply and he requests assistance by the border police. The foreman escapes, but perishes in the desert without water.
- Cowboy Tom Mackay, who takes a job on the Butler ranch, is out looking for an outlaw who murdered his brother. Tom falls in love with the rancher's daughter, Mollie, finding a rival in foreman Dakin.
- Briscoe leases land from Latimer. When oil is found Latimer tries to stop Briscoe from renewing the lease. Tom arrives and fights off Latimer and his men to renew the lease. But Latimer is not done. Now he shoots Briscoe, kidnaps Buddy, and blames Tom who is arrested and put in jail.
- Migual Garcia, a somewhat arrogant Spaniard, alienates pretty much all of the residents of the Flying U Ranch except the owner's young son, Chip Bennett. Dunk Whitaker, who owns a neighboring ranch, has secretly been rustling Flying U cattle and steals a contract guaranteeing the Flying U's rights to a particular waterhole. Not only that, he decides that he wants Bennett's pretty niece, Sally, for himself. Just when things look their darkest, it turns out that Miguel is not quite what he seems to be.

When she is goaded by a drunken guest into attending a society ball, Kingston relieves her embarrassment by introducing her as Princess Anne, visiting incognito; but Madeline Sheivers, angling for Kingston, maliciously exposes Anne. Mrs. Finney, enraged by her associating with the rich, turns her out; she accepts a cafe job, leaves it when a customer makes unwelcome advances, and becomes a model at the Fifth Avenue establishment of Theodore Chappell, who is tiring of the attentions of Madeline. Anne stays over at Rebecca Morgan's apartment and invites Kingston to dinner; making his departure, he sees Madeline shoot Chappell. Anne tries to assume the guilt, but Johnny, a cabdriver friend, convinces the police of Madeline's guilt. Kingston and Anne are happily united.
- Duke Carlton, an actor stranded in a small western town, gets a job as a cowboy on Tim O'Brien's ranch as a reward for beating up "Flash" Corbin, a real estate agent who has been trying to swindle the rancher. A romance develops between the actor and Patsy O'Brien, the rancher's daughter, but it is interrupted by the appearance of his former stage partner, Vera Van Swank, who claims him as her husband. He clears himself of the bigamy charge, foils a plot to cheat the rancher out of a $90,000 land property, and wins the daughter's hand.
- Ruth Holt is private secretary to Elwood Adams, a young architect. She is just the opposite to Adams' wife, who is indolent and a spendthrift, to which faults Adams, in his love for her, is blind. A lounge lizard with whom Mrs. Adams is friendly fans a jealous flame against Ruth. In a business crisis Ruth is introduced by Adams as his wife to Amos Martin, a banker. The lounge lizard informs Mrs. Adams and she denounces Ruth. A series of complicated events follow, terminating in Ruth reuniting the Adams couple and marrying the banker.
- A Duc's daughter learns her rescuer killed her brother and betrays his plan to save the queen.
- When heavyweight contender Battling Jack Riley uses the Bar X Ranch for his training quarters, foreman Tom Buckely becomes concerned over Riley's attentions to Frances Morris, the owner's daughter, whom Tom loves. Gerald, Frances' twin brother, confesses to a theft of money from the bank in which he works, and to retrieve the money Tom agrees to fight Riley for three rounds, to the disgust of Frances. Riley sees Tom give Gerald the money and has the boy kidnapped on the way to the bank, then uses him as a decoy to lure Frances to a cabin. Frankie, unseen by Riley, returns to the ranch for his brother, Tom, who arrives in time to defeat Riley after a terrific struggle and to rescue Frances.
- Fred Blake sets out to avenge his mother who died of shock as the result of a raid by an outlaw gang. He discovers that a gang-member killed in the raid was the long-lost son (since childhood) of the wealthy Monroe family, so he impersonates him and intends to exact his revenge on the family.
- Jeff Daggett, owner of a garage in Rockett, Arizona, neglects his business for work on a new type of automobile motor, while Johnny Fox, his assistant, handles the business. President Holtwood of a motor company and his daughter Nadine are driving to California when their car breaks down near Rockett. Jeff explains the features of his invention to Holtwood, who wires to Rexton, his chief engineer, to come look at the design; Rexton, who sees in Jeff a rival to Nadine, disparages the motor and proposes that Jeff race the car against his own. Rexton is stopped by a highwayman who steals the car, and the three start off in pursuit. Jeff overtakes and overcomes the bandit; subsequently, he accepts Holtwood's offer to work for him.
- Tom and Tod Pembroke are the twin sons of Jefferson Pembroke, a Virginia Bishop, and are divinity-school students. Tom is serious and Tod carefree and adventurous, and both are in love with Ruth Featherstone. Tod is expelled from the school and, seeing that Ruth loves Tom, he sets sail for China. Five years later, Tom, a missionary, and his bride Ruth are on the way to establish a mission at Paroa, in the Java Sea. En route, Tom catches island-fever, and their vessel is captured by a pirate calling himself Captain Blaze Devine. The latter is really Tod Pembroke, but his heavy beard makes him unrecognizable, but he recognizes his brother and Ruth. Devine learns of his brothers mission, shaves his beard and sails for Paroa, and poses as his ill-brother. "Bully" Rawden, the island trader opposes the building of a mission, but Tod whips him in a fight, and holds services that night. Marietta, Rawden's daughter, falls in love with him, but Tod, unable to reveals his true identity, has to conceal his feelings for her.
- Mrs. Ellis tries to maintain happiness and comfort in her family, even at the cost of her own happiness. When the family comes on hard times, she sells her personal belongings, yet her family reacts ungratefully, and her husband becomes romantically involved with a client at his architectural firm. The family seems on the verge of ruin when Mrs. Ellis gets an opportunity to put things right.
