10 titles
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleTom HardyAnne HathawayEight years after the Joker's reign of chaos, Batman is coerced out of exile with the assistance of the mysterious Selina Kyle in order to defend Gotham City from the vicious guerrilla terrorist Bane.I guess it's the fanboy in me that makes me put this as number one. I loved the first two, and Nolan has yet to disappoint me with anything he's done. Plus it already looks awesome!
- DirectorRidley ScottStarsNoomi RapaceLogan Marshall-GreenMichael FassbenderFollowing clues to the origin of mankind, a team finds a structure on a distant moon, but they soon realize they are not alone.I still have next to no idea what it's about other than it has something to do with the Alien movies but it has director Ridley Scott returning to his roots of Alien and Blade Runner and has trailers that have made it look incredibly interesting but also mysterious, and it looks as though it will have some mind-blowing visuals. Plus I love Michael Fassebender.
- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsJamie FoxxChristoph WaltzLeonardo DiCaprioWith the help of a German bounty-hunter, a freed slave sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal plantation owner in Mississippi.Dicaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and more+ Quentin Tarantino and we can all but guarantee this thing will be a lot of fun.
- DirectorRuben FleischerStarsSean PennRyan GoslingEmma StoneIt's 1949 Los Angeles, the city is run by gangsters and a malicious mobster, Mickey Cohen. Determined to end the corruption, John O'Mara assembles a team of cops, ready to take down the ruthless leader and restore peace to the city.Another absurdly good cast: Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Anthony Mackie, Nick Nolte and more are enough to make me overlook the terrible title and still have this as one of my most anticipated.
- DirectorBaz LuhrmannStarsLeonardo DiCaprioCarey MulliganJoel EdgertonA writer and wall street trader, Nick Carraway, finds himself drawn to the past and lifestyle of his mysterious millionaire neighbor, Jay Gatsby, amid the riotous parties of the Jazz Age.I'm anticipating this more just to see how it turns out. My second favorite book of all time and a good cast, although I have no idea why it is in 3D.
- DirectorJoss WhedonStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansScarlett JohanssonEarth's mightiest heroes must come together and learn to fight as a team if they are going to stop the mischievous Loki and his alien army from enslaving humanity. What can I say. This might end up being terrible, but I think if done right it could be a ton of fun. I look forward to seeing Downey play off of everyone else, and frankly it will be kinda cool no matter what seeing all of these guys in one movie together.
- DirectorAlfonso CuarónStarsSandra BullockGeorge ClooneyEd HarrisDr Ryan Stone, an engineer on her first time on a space mission, and Matt Kowalski, an astronaut on his final expedition, have to survive in space after they are hit by debris while spacewalking.Cuaron is an amazing director and this one is supposed to be a huge jump forward for filmmaking techniques. Don't know much about it, but I'm definitely interested.
- DirectorSam MendesStarsDaniel CraigJavier BardemNaomie HarrisJames Bond's loyalty to M is tested when her past comes back to haunt her. When MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.I'm a big Bond fan, and this one looks like it will be a return to the Quality we saw in Casino Royale. Sam Mendes is a great director, and some of its new cast members (Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem) should make it more interesting, and as a plus, it is being shot by Roger Deakins: one of the greatest cinematographers alive who could potentially finally bring James Bond to the Oscars.
- DirectorTom HooperStarsHugh JackmanRussell CroweAnne HathawayIn 19th-century France, Jean Valjean, who for decades has been hunted by the ruthless policeman Javert after breaking parole, agrees to care for a factory worker's daughter. The decision changes their lives forever. It's a fantastic play and it could end up disappointing with as much hype as it has, but it also has the potential to be amazing. Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe are inspired choices and most of the supporting cast is solid. I will also be interested to see how King's Speech director Tom Hooper is able to do with his first post-oscar project.
- DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsDaniel Day-LewisSally FieldDavid StrathairnAs the Civil War rages on, U.S President Abraham Lincoln struggles with continuing carnage on the battlefield as he fights with many inside his own cabinet on his decision to emancipate the slaves.Spielberg hasn't done anything really good in a long time, and this could easily end up being just another run of the mill, oscar bait biography but it's cast is freakin amazing, especially Daniel Day Lewis, who is still one of my favorite actors.
