Dr. Klaus Schmidt aka Sebastian Shaw experiments on young Erik in a Nazi concentration camp before going onto form the Hellfire Club with Emma Frost, Azazel and Riptide.
The first group of X-Men includes Mystique, Beast, Darwin, Banshee, Angel and Havok (aka Alex Summers, the brother of Scott Summers, aka Cyclops).
Wolverine has a cameo appearance.
A young Storm is seen via Cerebro.
The CIA Agent that Mystique impersonates is the father of William Stryker.
Moira MacTaggert appears. - DirectorGavin HoodStarsHugh JackmanLiev SchreiberRyan ReynoldsThe early years of James Logan, featuring his rivalry with his brother Victor Creed, his service in the special forces team Weapon X, and his experimentation into the metal-lined mutant Wolverine.A prequel to the X-Men trilogy. This follows Wolverine from his childhood in the 1840's onwards, although the bulk of the film takes place in (approximately) 1985, around 15 years before 'X-Men'.
Sabretooth (later seen in 'X-Men') is revealed to be be Wolverine's half-brother.
William Stryker (and his son Jason Stryker), later seen in 'X2', are featured.
There is also some background to Scott Summers/Cyclops and a cameo from Charles Xavier.
Team X is comprised of James Logan (Wolverine), Victor Creed (Sabretooth), Wade Wilson (Deadpool), David North (Agent Zero), Chris Bradley (Bolt), John Wraith (Kestrel) and Fred J. Dukes (Blob).
In one scene a black vintage Mercedes Benz can be spotted moving around. This was the vehicle Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr used in the beginning of X-Men: The Last Stand...
Some of the mutants William Stryker has captured and encaged are recognizable:
* the tongued boy is Mortimer Toynbee (Toad);
* the teenager with the tornado is Sofia Mantega (Wind Dancer), who can summon winds;
* the boy vibrating in his cage is Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver, son of Magneto), whose power is super-speed;
* the boy with the tape over his mouth is Sean Cassidy (Banshee), whose power is sonic-level screaming.
The old couple Logan encounters are named Travis and Heather Hudson. These are the civilian names of Guardian and Vindicator, the leaders of Alpha Flight, a Canadian governmental mutant team. - DirectorBryan SingerStarsPatrick StewartHugh JackmanIan McKellenIn a world where mutants (evolved super-powered humans) exist and are discriminated against, two groups form for an inevitable clash: the supremacist Brotherhood, and the pacifist X-Men.In the not too distant future, we are introduced to Professor Xavier's X-Men via Wolverine and Rogue, showing the conflict between the Brotherhood of Mutants, led by Magneto.
We see a flashback to Magneto's time in the concentration camp.
Jubilee, Shadowcat, Colossus; Iceman, aka Bobby Drake, and Pyro all feature. - DirectorBryan SingerStarsPatrick StewartHugh JackmanHalle BerryWhen anti-mutant Colonel William Stryker kidnaps Professor X and attacks his school, the X-Men must ally with their archenemy Magneto to stop him.Following on from 'X-Men', Colonel William Stryker (also seen 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine', 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' and 'X-Men: Apocalypse') brainwashes Xavier into locating every mutant on the planet to kill them. The X-Men must team up with the Brotherhood to prevent Stryker's worldwide genocide.

Magneto declares war on the humans and retrieves his own weapon: the telekinetic and telepathic Phoenix, who is the resurrected former X-Man, Jean Grey. After Phoenix kills Cyclops, a final battle between the X-Men and the Brotherhood ensues, and Wolverine must accept that in order to save Jean from her second personality, he will have to kill her.
The team fight Sentinels in the Danger Room
In this film, a man called Trask is Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security.
The characters Phat and Spike make cameo appearances.
In the last scenes Magneto discovers the return of his powers and Professor X reveals his survival.
Moira MacTaggert appears. - DirectorJames MangoldStarsHugh JackmanWill Yun LeeTao OkamotoWolverine comes to Japan to meet an old friend whose life he saved years ago, and gets embroiled in a conspiracy involving yakuza and mutants.Although there are scenes set during WW2, the majority of this film takes place approximately eight years after 'X-Men: The Last Stand'.
The mid-credits scene is set two years later and shows that Magneto has regained his powers and Professor X has returned. They are working together to stop Bolivar Trask (of Trask Industries) the creator of the Sentinels. This ties into 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' leading to the post-apocalyptic version of 2023.
Kenuchio Harada appears. - DirectorBryan SingerStarsPatrick StewartIan McKellenHugh JackmanThe X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants.Days of Future Past is a direct sequel to First Class and a spin-off pre/sequel to the original trilogy(!). Director Bryan Singer has said "it's not a sequel, it's not a prequel, it's a 'inbetwequel'."
Following on from the 1960's set 'First Class' this is mostly set in 1973 but is tied into events occurring in 2023, many years after 'The Last Stand'.
The end of this film results in creating two timelines
1. First Class/Origins: Wolverine/X-Men/X2/The Last Stand/The Wolverine/DoFP/Logan
2. First Class/DoFP/Apocalypse/Deadpool/Deadpool 2
In effect the original trilogy, most of the Wolverine prequel (anything after 1973) and The Wolverine sequel all now occur in an alternative timeline.
In the 'corrected future' briefly seen at the end of DoFP, Wolverine and Xavier are shown to be the only ones who remember the timeline altering events of this film. I think the events of 'Logan' follow on from this scene.
As well as returning cast members from 'First Class'; James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magento), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast) and Lucas Till (Havok); several actors reprise their roles from the original X-Men Trilogy including Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), Halle Berry (Storm) and Daniel Cudmore (Colossus).
A younger version of the mutant known as Toad, as seen in the original 'X-Men' film, appears. There are also franchise newcomers including Quicksilver, Blink, Bishop, Warpath, Sunspot - and Peter Dinklage as the primary antagonist, Bolivar Trask of Trask Industries.
William Stryker is shown as a soldier and ally of Trask, involved in sourcing mutants for experimentation. He has a run in with Wolverine which hints at Weapon X (later seen in X-Men: Apocalypse and Deadpool).
It is revealed that Angel, Azazel and Emma Frost were killed since First Class.
When Magneto is retrieving his helmet you can see Havok's damaged X-Men uniform, one of Angel's wings and the coin Magneto used to kill Sebastian Shaw all from "X-Men First Class".
It is hinted that Quicksilver's father is Magneto. His sister (Polaris) is also seen.
The dissertation Bolivar Trask reads from during his senate committee hearing, which outlines that the emergence of Homo Sapien lead to the extinction of the less evolved Neanderthal ancestors, was written by Charles Xavier and was partially read to Mystique in X-Men: First Class.
The mutant solders Mystique rescues are Havok, Toad, Spike and Ink. An older version of Ink is visible in the Mutant Internment Camp scene early in the film wearing an inhibitor collar to prevent him from using his powers.
The post-credit scene sets up 'X-Men: Apocalypse'. - DirectorJames MangoldStarsHugh JackmanPatrick StewartDafne KeenIn a future where mutants are nearly extinct, an elderly and weary Logan leads a quiet life. But when Laura, a mutant child pursued by scientists, comes to him for help, he must get her to safety. This appears to take place on the new timeline a few years after the reset 'happy' future (with the original cast) that we briefly see at the end of 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'. That was approximately 2023.
This film takes place in 2029, and we learn that one year earlier, in 2028, Professor X accidently killed the X-Men in a seizure-induced psychic attack.
Charles Xavier is now 90 years old and Wolverine is around 190 years old.
The mutant population has mostly died out due to the secret ongoing work of the Alkali Transigen company. We learn that Dr. Zander Rice's father was killed by Logan when he escaped from Alkali Lake in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'.
In the post-credit scene in 'X-Men: Apocalypse' an employee of Essex Corp collects a blood sample from Weapon X (aka Wolverine) in 1983 and stores it with other samples. These samples seem to have been used by Transigen and Dr. Zander Rice to create the weaponised cloned mutants, including Laura (aka X-23) who is Logan's genetic daughter.
Caliban, last seen in 'X-Men: Apocalypse', features. His mutant detecting abilities are used by Donald Pierce, the leader of The Reavers. The Reavers are a team of cyborgs, working for Transigen.
One of the Transigen case files reveals that DNA was taken from Christopher Bradley aka Bolt. He featured as part of Team X in 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'. His electrical powers are displayed by one of the cloned children.
One of the children is called Rictor. In the comics they were an original member of X-Force who could create earthquakes. One of the files Logan found in X-23's bag lists Dominic Petros (aka Avalanche) as the genetic template for Rictor. In 'X-Men: The Last Stand' Avalanche appears as part of the Brotherhood.
One of the children is called Bobby which may be a reference to the use of DNA from Bobby Drake aka Iceman, as freezing powers are displayed.
The Adamantium bullet may be from the same batch that Stryker has in 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'. - DirectorBryan SingerStarsJames McAvoyMichael FassbenderJennifer LawrenceIn the 1980s the X-Men must defeat an ancient all-powerful mutant, En Sabah Nur, who intends to thrive through bringing destruction to the world.Apocalypse is seen briefly in the post-credit scene of Days of Future Past, in ancient Egypt when he was known as En Sabah Nur or "The First One". However, the film takes place mostly in 1983, 10 years after the end of Days of Future Past.
Due to the new timeline established in Days of Future Past we meet new, younger versions of Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler and Angel. New versions of Jubilee and Psylocke also feature after very minor roles in the original trilogy, and there is a glimpse of a new version of Blob (previously seen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine).
Havok, Moira MacTaggert, Stryker and Quicksilver reprise their roles. Havok/Alex Summers from 'First Class' and Days of Future Past is revealed as the older brother of Cyclops/Scott Summers.
Magneto, Storm, Psylocke and Angel/Archangel serve as the Horsemen of Apocalypse
Caliban, a mutant with the ability to sense and track other mutants, makes his debut. He will also feature in 'Logan'.
Moira MacTaggert mentions that she has a son. In the comics her son Kevin MacTaggert becomes the villain Proteus, and Bryan Singer has said he'd like to use Proteus in a future X-men movie.
Kinberg confirmed that the after-credits scene that references the Essex Corporation (and so by extension Mister Sinister) will affect and set up 'Logan' as well potentially inpacting on other films; “It’s a nod toward potentially a lot of different movies. I mean certainly the Wolverine movie is related to what happens at the end of it, but there’s also another character that’s introduced, at least in name, in the tag and he could show up in any host of different X-Men films. Maybe a Gambit movie, maybe another X-Men movie.” - DirectorSimon KinbergStarsJames McAvoyMichael FassbenderJennifer LawrenceJean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn her into a Dark Phoenix, causing the X-Men to have to decide if her life is worth more than all of humanity.Following on from 'X-Men: Apocalypse' this film will be set in the 1990's.
Professor X, Magneto, Mystique, Beast, Storm, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Nightcrawler and Quicksilver will reappear.
It is a new adaptation of "The Dark Phoenix Saga" and may be partly set in space.
The villain will be the alien and Shi’ar Empress Lilandra Neamani. Jean Grey will lose control of her abilities as the Dark Phoenix, forcing the X-Men to fight her while Lilandra seeks to capture and destroy her.
Writer/director Simon Kinberg said in May 2016 that he hoped Dark Phoenix would be the first in a new trilogy of films focusing on the younger versions of the original X-Men characters. - DirectorJosh BooneStarsMaisie WilliamsAnya Taylor-JoyCharlie HeatonFive young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves. The official synopsis is; "Held in a secret facility against their will, five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past. They aren’t out to save the world — they’re just trying to save themselves."
This spin-off movie will introduce a fresh bunch of mutants to the big screen with the focus on new young characters.
However, the new version of Storm (from ‘Apocalypse’) will reappear, as will Professor X.
This is expected to feature Illyana Rasputin/Magik, (the little sister of Colossus) and perhaps her alien dragon companion Lockheed, as well as Rahne Sinclair/Wolfsbane, Dani Moonstar/Mirage, Sam Guthrie/Cannonball, Roberto da Costa/Sunspot (last seen in the now erased future in ‘Days of Future Past’). Dr Cecilia Reyes will also feature.
Early promotional material suggests Demon Bear will be a villain.
Producer Simon Kinberg has said the film after 'Apocalypse' will be set in the 1990's. This presumably relates to X-Men: Dark Phoenix, but it could mean this film as well, or instead.
It's unclear if characters from this film will join the cast of X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
Kinberg has also hinted The Essex Corp, and by extension Mister Sinister, may feature in this film after being teased in ‘Apocalypse’.
Director Josh Boone says; "We are making a full-fledged horror movie set within the X-Men universe. There are no costumes. There are no supervillains. We’re trying to do something very, very different ...a darker and more surreal and impressionistic X-Men series than we’d ever seen before. It felt like Stephen King meets John Hughes. We made a comic book with what our vision of the series would be. We love that Fox wants to make all these different X-Men spinoffs as drastically different as they can." - DirectorTim MillerStarsRyan ReynoldsMorena BaccarinT.J. This is addressed within the film directly thanks to the meta "breaking the fourth wall" aspects of Deadpool.
This was released before 'Apocalypse' (which occurs primarily in 1983) but has a modern day setting. Therefore it must take place years later on the current new timeline. “It takes place within the X-Men universe and references that universe. Apocalypse take place in the past and Deadpool takes place in the present, but it acknowledges everything that’s happened in those other movies and the universe.”
X-Men member Colossus appears, after featuring in the original trilogy and the future scenes in 'Days of Future Past'. However this appears to be a new version of the character. Fellow X-Men Negasonic Teenage Warhead (aka Ellie Phimister) also appears, and the X-Men mansion is seen.
Ajax is the main villain, assisted by Angel Dust. They run a version of the Weapon X program.
Deadpool's love interest is Vanessa, who in the comics is a metamorph called Copycat and is connected to Weapon X and X-Force. Her name also appears on William Stryker's computer in X2. However she does not have any mutant abilities in this film.
When Wade Wilson is being taken to begin the experimental healing process, there is a glimpse of Marrow, leader of the Morlocks, sitting up with her back turned. In X2, a file named "Morlocks" appears on the desktop of Stryker's computer. The Morlocks also appear in X-Men: The Last Stand but they are referred to as The Omegas.

This takes place on an alternative timeline and appears to take place from 2017.
The showrunner noted that the film X-Men: Days of Future Past established multiple, different timelines or "streams" in the X-Men universe, and that the series would take advantage of those to avoid the films and comics and instead do "our own thing". This idea was further explored by Season 2 of 'Legion' which showed multiple timelines existing.
We learn that the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants disappeared three years before the events in this show.
We learn that Lauren and Andy are the great-grandchildren of Andreas von Strucker who, along with his sister Andrea von Strucker, were mutant terrorists known as Fenris, and active in the late 1940's and early 1950's. They were associated with the Hellfire Club (last seen in 'X-Men: First Class').
Lorna Dane/Polaris is the daughter of Magneto and can control magnetism like him.
Blink appears. Blink was previously seen in the post-apocalyptic future of 2023 as seen in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' but this is a new version of the character if this is a new timeline.
Sentinels Services feature. Sentinels were last seen in 'Days of Future Past' but their construction was thought to have been halted in the new timeline. However, Trask Industries also features after appearing in the film. Trask Industries is seen to have sourced Adamantium from the abandoned Alkali Lake facility (as seen in various X-Men films). Ahab Dr Roderick "Rory" Campbell aka Ahab is in charge of the experiments at Trask Industries.
The Morlocks feature in Season 2, and Adamantium is referenced.
