- DirectorRanald MacDougallStarsHarry BelafonteInger StevensMel FerrerA miner trapped in a cave-in resurfaces, and upon discovering mankind has been wiped out in a nuclear holocaust, sets out to find other survivors.10.1
A story, black on white...
I just adore this film. The 'hairdressing scene' is one of the reasons: pure awkward tension; I can hardly sit through it, it's that thick.
This movie seems to have influenced a number of later films as there are early scenes with Harry Belafonte on his lonesome that are just too strikingly familiar.
Do not miss it. - DirectorAndrei TarkovskyStarsAlisa FreyndlikhAleksandr KaydanovskiyAnatoliy SolonitsynA guide leads two men through an area known as the Zone to find a room that grants wishes.10.0
From the opening scene of a couple in bed I was captivated. More than anyone Tarkovsky is able to make such menial, dull things interesting. With only composition, camera movements, staging and perhaps the odd piece of dialogue. This would have been a drab affair under most other director's hands. Prepare to be slowly drawn into this intriguing world somewhere out in the expanse of the wasteland where hope and despair could be misconstrued as the same thing. - DirectorRené LalouxStarsBarry BostwickJennifer DrakeEric BauginOn a faraway planet where blue giants rule, oppressed humanoids rebel against their machine-like leaders.10.0
Rene Laloux's films feel alien and even though scene to scene things aren't quite consistent, it's the imagination that prevails in all of his work, and evidently the wonderful source material. - DirectorFred M. WilcoxStarsWalter PidgeonAnne FrancisLeslie NielsenA starship crew in the 23rd century goes to investigate the silence of a distant planet's colony, only to find just two survivors, a powerful robot, and the deadly secret of a lost civilization.10.0
Though it has aged, its underlying story and themes have resonance. The sets are great and Robby and Walter are charming.
Would I be wrong to think that Prometheus was an ode to this fine movie? - DirectorJindrich PolákStarsZdenek StepánekFrantisek SmolíkDana MedrickáThe year is 2163. Starship Ikarie XB 1 embarks on a long journey across the universe to search for life on the planets of Alpha Centauri. It starts with some cool music and some equally cool images, then we find out how it came to be. Worth the watch for the atmosphere alone.
- DirectorPiotr SzulkinStarsRoman WilhelmiKrystyna JandaMariusz DmochowskiFilm opens on December 28, 1999, three days before the dawn of the new century. A local reporter, Iron Idem, announces that the Martians have landed. Shortly after that his program loses its independence: he is given the script telling the crowds how to welcome the invaders. Then the chaos breaks out: the Martians and police mistreat the populace; things become violent. Idem's own wife is kidnapped and it seems somebody is trying to reduce his effectiveness as a reporter. Idem decides to fight back: he illegally broadcasts a message during a rock concert, but nobody believes him anymore. If you loved Brazil you should definitely give this a try. Both films suffer from 80's syndrome and yet they manage to squash it quite early on. They are also dry when it comes to humour, have a more or less depressed protagonist and their endings are faked...this film even has Harry Tuttle, err, what I'm trying to say is this movie became Brazil.
There are another 2 films by the same director dealing with similar themes, though overall not as good as this one, they had some memorable scenes. - DirectorTerry GilliamStarsJonathan PryceKim GreistRobert De NiroA bureaucrat in a dystopic society becomes an enemy of the state as he pursues the woman of his dreams.Terry Gilliams' peak
- DirectorJeff RenfroeMarteinn ThorssonStarsRichard ReesJeremy SistoUdo KierAfter receiving mysterious empty packages inside his apartment, a young computer-programmer begins a personal investigation into their origins. This has all the makings of schlock yet ends up being a well plotted mystery that works on more than one level.
- DirectorAlfonso CuarónStarsJulianne MooreClive OwenChiwetel EjioforIn 2027, in a chaotic world in which women have somehow become infertile, a former activist agrees to help transport a miraculously pregnant woman to a sanctuary at sea.I remember watching the teaser trailers for this and thinking how *beep* it looked. After watching it I was nearly blown away. The final war scene is reminiscent of Andrej Tarkovsky.
- DirectorRidley ScottStarsHarrison FordRutger HauerSean YoungA blade runner must pursue and terminate four replicants who stole a ship in space and have returned to Earth to find their creator.Just Oozes cool right up to the final fight on the rooftop under the night amongst the rain.
The picture enhancer thingy is very dated now. - DirectorStanley KubrickStarsKeir DulleaGary LockwoodWilliam SylvesterAfter uncovering a mysterious artifact buried beneath the Lunar surface, a spacecraft is sent to Jupiter to find its origins: a spacecraft manned by two men and the supercomputer HAL 9000.I love it for the visuals basically, everything else in the film is secondary, oh and the music worked real good.
- DirectorGeorgiy DaneliyaStarsStanislav LyubshinEvgeniy LeonovYuriy YakovlevTwo Russians push the wrong button on a strange device and end up on the telepathic planet Pluke with its strange societal norms.Absurdist in the best sense.
- DirectorRidley ScottStarsSigourney WeaverTom SkerrittJohn HurtThe crew of a commercial spacecraft encounters a deadly lifeform after investigating a mysterious transmission of unknown origin. The first and in my mind, undoubtedly the best.
- DirectorJack ArnoldStarsGrant WilliamsRandy StuartApril KentAfter Scott Carey begins to shrink because of exposure to a combination of radiation and insecticide, medical science is powerless to help him.Great, Great, Great. The special effects still look fantastic. The plot progression is also fantastic and the acting is real good; I felt for the little guy.
Watch it as soon as you can. - DirectorMichel GondryStarsJim CarreyKate WinsletTom WilkinsonWhen their relationship turns sour, a couple undergoes a medical procedure to have each other erased from their memories forever.I only saw Je t'aime je t'aime recently and I can say that this is definitely how you re-make a movie. The best I can think of. It keeps all of the good things and makes them much better.
- DirectorUbaldo RagonaSidney SalkowStarsVincent PriceFranca BettoiaEmma DanieliWhen a disease turns all of humanity into the living dead, the last man on earth becomes a reluctant vampire hunter. It's basically a one man show and Vincent Price delivers in spades of garlic.
- DirectorAleksandr GintsburgStarsEvgeniy EvstigneevVsevolod SafonovMikhail AstangovA talented inventor who created the machine of unprecedented destructive power is obsessed with world domination. In his manic quest he commits one crime after another, without assuming the dreadful consequences would be for him. This is based on a story written by Tolstoy. It is very similar to the earlier German film 'Gold' which probably has its origins in the same place (or a novel of similar nature). However in this story, where there should be a sane, intelligent, good scientist after revenge, there is an insane, violent, scheming evil scientist. The best thing about the movie aside from the fun factor is the wonderful score. It's sometimes dissonant, sometimes poppy and other times that typical orchestral music you're likely to hear in plenty of its contemporaries as well as those that preceded it (if you will), but it is never dull, always interesting.
- DirectorRudolph CartierStarsPeter CushingAndré MorellYvonne MitchellIn a totalitarian future society, Winston Smith, whose daily work is re-writing history, tries to rebel by falling in love. The best version of 1984. Not as depressing and slow as (1984), not as strangely acted as (1956) and there were some other complaints I had but they seem to have fluttered off.
Just watch this version and be done with it. - DirectorMarc CaroJean-Pierre JeunetStarsRon PerlmanDaniel EmilforkJudith VittetA scientist in a surrealist society kidnaps children to steal their dreams, hoping that they slow his aging process. The visuals are eye popping, the world is its own and who couldn't love a cyborg, especially these bug eyed fellas? A good performance by Judith and Ron as well.
- DirectorKarl HartlStarsHans AlbersFriedrich KayßlerBrigitte HelmAfter his colleague and a mentor, Prof. Achenbach dies in a set-up accident, while trying to produce gold from the lead, Werner Holk seeks revenge. Meanwhile, a British millionaire suggests that Holk work on him on a similar project.Sometimes 30's films look dated to me, especially in the first half of the decade, but this one is modern looking, like it could fit in twenty years later.
- DirectorRené LalouxStarsGlenn CloseChristopher PlummerPierre-Marie EscourrouAn evil force begins to destroy the idyllic paradise of Gandahar, where the citizens are in perfect harmony with nature. Can the future impact the past?
- DirectorAlejandro AmenábarStarsEduardo NoriegaPenélope CruzChete LeraA very handsome man finds the love of his life, but he suffers an accident and needs to have his face rebuilt by surgery after it is severely disfigured.Part Beauty and the Beast re-imagining, part mystery-thriller, part Alejandro and Mateo.
I originally saw this movie, or at least 70%, soon after seeing Vanilla Sky. From memory I thought that this was lesser than its remake, but I caught up with it again at a much more open-minded age (I guess) and it was great and exactly as I remember the remake to be (but I'll have to revisit it as well to know how muddled my memories are).
This seems to be have been inspired by The Face of Another, a film by Hiroshi Teshigahara. - DirectorSatoshi DezakiTsuneo TominagaStarsAkira KamiyaMichiko KawaiHideyuki TanakaCosmo Academy has set a test for ten of its applicants to survive on a spaceship for 2 months. But there is an eleventh member aboard. This movie starts out much like a confined murder mystery written by Agatha Christie and it continues on in that vein, though not too much happens. The characters are interesting and while there is a good amount of interplay between them, I would have liked it better if there was more. There is a bit of dialogue, so as one of the reviewers of this movie on IMDB wrote, you might find it being bogged down at times; I did not.
- DirectorDon SiegelStarsKevin McCarthyDana WynterLarry GatesA small-town doctor learns that the population of his community is being replaced by emotionless alien duplicates.Much better than the remake! That one I think focused to much on the 'horror' aspect.
- DirectorBrad BirdStarsEli MarienthalHarry Connick Jr.Jennifer AnistonA young boy befriends a giant robot from outer space that a paranoid government agent wants to destroy. My E.T. or rather my The Glitterball
- DirectorAndrei TarkovskyStarsNatalya BondarchukDonatas BanionisJüri JärvetA psychologist is sent to a station orbiting a distant planet in order to discover what has caused the crew to go insane.
- DirectorLidiya IshimbaevaBoris NirenburgStarsVasiliy LanovoyAntonina PilyusVladimir EtushKris Kelvin joins the space station orbiting the planet Solaris, only to find its two crew members plagued by "phantoms," creations of Solaris. Kelvin is soon confronted with his own phantom, taking the shape of his dead wife Hari. This version is stagey, the acting is a little uneven, but it managed to engage me quite easily nontheless.
- DirectorRobert WiseStarsMichael RenniePatricia NealHugh MarloweAn alien lands in Washington, D.C. and tells the people of Earth that they must live peacefully or be destroyed as a danger to other planets.
- DirectorDuncan JonesStarsSam RockwellKevin SpaceyDominique McElligottAstronaut Sam Bell has a quintessentially personal encounter toward the end of his three-year stint on the Moon, where he, working alongside his computer, GERTY, sends back to Earth parcels of a resource that has helped diminish our planet's power problems. What's better than 1 Sam Rockwell...?
It's a little sick I'm sure. - DirectorSebastián CorderoStarsSharlto CopleyMichael NyqvistChristian CamargoAn international crew of astronauts undertakes a privately funded mission to search for life on Jupiter's fourth largest moon.Aside from the reveal at the end, this is my favourite science fiction film since Moon.
- StarsRick ZieglerTom SawyerSpencer KoernerA lonely computer wiz creates a robot with human-like intelligence. They will influence and teach each other as their lives spin out of control. It may seem like a pile of turd in those opening five minutes or so, but stick with it and you will be treated to a very funny and endearing romantic comedy pie.
- DirectorSteven SoderberghStarsJeremy IronsTheresa RussellJoel GreyKafka works during the day at an insurance company, where events lead him to discover a mysterious underground society with strange suppressive goals.
- DirectorTerry GilliamStarsBruce WillisMadeleine StoweBrad PittIn a future world devastated by disease, a convict is sent back in time to gather information about the man-made virus that wiped out most of the human population on the planet.
- DirectorPeter WatkinsStarsMichael AspelPeter GrahamDave BaldwinA docudrama depicting a hypothetical nuclear attack on Britain.Very vivid in its depiction of a post nuclear holocaust and much better than the later attempt Threads because it relies less on acting, focuses on the details and is succinct.
- DirectorMamoru HosodaStarsRiisa NakaTakuya IshidaMitsutaka ItakuraA high-school girl named Makoto acquires the power to travel back in time, and decides to use it for her own personal benefits. Little does she know that she is affecting the lives of others just as much as she is her own.The animation is nice, the romance is spread evenly and the story is developed finely and it is just a whole lot of fun.
This is something like the fourth iteration of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. - DirectorEnki BilalStarsJean-Louis TrintignantCarole BouquetMaria SchneiderIn an imaginary dictature of a futuristic world, rebellion has broken out. The men in power scramble to the Bunker Palace Hotel, a bunker built long ago for just this kind of contingency. But a rebel spy sneaks in, and although her nature is very quickly suspected, she is left to observe the raving of the decadent power class, who keeps wondering what happened to their leader, who has failed to show up.This film is rather great. It reminded me faintly of another film set in a hotel in which the residents and the staff acted absurdly and plenty of ridiculousness ensued. I think I might be thinking of Guest House Paradiso, but if you're worried by the mention of that comedy don't be. This is not an out and out comedy and the absurdity is locked in to an agreeable level.
In the early scenes above ground it reminded me of Children of Men's latter scenes in which the war is raging, not that there are any long takes sweeping through the battlefield, just the atmosphere/feelings it managed to evoke with the smokey train depots and the gunfire in the not-so-distant background. - DirectorRené LalouxStarsJean ValmontMichel EliasFrédéric LegrosPiel, a 7 or 8 year old boy, is alone on the desert planet Perdide, only survivor of an attack by giant hornets. Calling for help, Piel's father's friend Jaffar keeps contact with the kid and hurries across space toward Perdide.
- DirectorDavid CronenbergStarsJude LawJennifer Jason LeighIan HolmA game designer on the run from assassins must play her latest virtual reality creation with a marketing trainee to determine if the game has been damaged.Video games, organic technology, hook ups via the body, the loss of truth and a strangely alluring femme fatale all gather together to create one of David Cronenbergs' most memorable films.
- DirectorRobert ParrishStarsRoy ThinnesIan HendryPatrick WymarkThe European Space Exploration Council sends two astronauts to explore a planet similar to the Earth but located on the opposite side of the sun.
- DirectorJan SchmidtStarsVladimír HlavatýJitka HorejsiOndrej JariabekA troupe of young women on post-apocalyptic earth are lead around by a mistress born before the war, eventually stumbling into the company of a lonely old man.If you like interesting, unique movies and don't mind a bit of 'animal cruelty' then watch this film.
- DirectorNacho VigalondoStarsKarra ElejaldeCandela FernándezBárbara GoenagaA man accidentally gets into a time machine and travels back in time nearly an hour. Finding himself will be the first of a series of disasters of unforeseeable consequences.I heavily enjoyed the film, though I do wish the movies' internal logic allowed 'change'.
- DirectorL.Q. JonesStarsDon JohnsonJason RobardsSusanne BentonA young man and his telepathic dog wander a post-apocalyptic wasteland. If you've ever asked yourself whether or not, after the earth has become a barren wasteland, 'should I pair up with my best mate or my lover?', this movie has the be all and end all answer.
- DirectorDean ParisotStarsTim AllenSigourney WeaverAlan RickmanThe alumni cast of a space opera television series have to play their roles as the real thing when an alien race needs their help. However, they also have to defend both Earth and the alien race from a reptilian warlord. If you've never watched Star Trek or been to a convention once in your life, don't despair, this film is funny even without the references and a hell of a lot of fun. And those cutesy creatures still look, actually, all of the CGI still looks good to me.
- DirectorNicholas MeyerStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyWith the assistance of the Enterprise crew, Admiral Kirk must stop an old nemesis, Khan Noonien Singh, from using the life-generating Genesis Device as the ultimate weapon.
- DirectorNikos NikolaidisStarsMichele ValleyTakis SpyridakisPanos ThanassoulisGoing alone into an abandoned, living city, a woman tries to cross a forbidden zone swarming with the Morning Patrol and traps. Meeting one of the last city guards, they attempt recall the past and penetrate the zone together. This is a slightly more sombre and quiet film than the average post-apocalyptic movie, though it's not as bleak as The Road and it's not completely devoid of action.
- DirectorPaul VerhoevenStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerSharon StoneMichael IronsideWhen a man goes in to have virtual vacation memories of the planet Mars implanted in his mind, an unexpected and harrowing series of events forces him to go to the planet for real - or is he?I watched the newer Total Recall not that long ago and while that had lots of gloss and polish, better acting for the most part and cool shizz in general, the original had fun, and I like fun, especially when the doses are measured. I mean, it's a zany story, you might as well have zaniness sweating from the pore.
- DirectorRichard LesterStarsRita TushinghamRalph RichardsonPeter CookIn post-nuclear-holocaust England, a handful of bizarre characters struggles on with their lives in the ruins, among endless heaps of ash, piles of broken crockery and brick, muddy plains, and heaps of dentures and old boots. Patriotically singing "God Save Mrs. Ethel Shroake, Long Live Mrs. Ethel Shroake", they wander through this surrealistic landscape, forever being warned by the police to "keep moving", and prone to the occasional mutation into a parrot, cupboard, or even--yes, a bed-sitting room with "No Wogs" scrawled in the grime on its windows. In particular, this story revolves around the odd "love story" of a girl who lives with her parents in one compartment of a London Underground train, the commuter in the next compartment, and the doctor they meet after returning above ground in search of a nurse for the heavily-pregnant girl.'She's got big busts hasn't she, for a girl her age?
'Hmm, what? '
That left bust especially. It seems to...the nipple seems to stand out on that one.'

Such straight-laced performances and excellent dialogue make for a number of cracking exchanges. Some of it is definitely not politically correct. - DirectorSatoshi KonStarsMegumi HayashibaraTôru EmoriKatsunosuke HoriWhen a machine that allows therapists to enter their patients' dreams is stolen, all hell breaks loose. - DirectorFritz LangStarsBrigitte HelmAlfred AbelGustav FröhlichIn a futuristic city sharply divided between the working class and the city planners, the son of the city's mastermind falls in love with a working-class prophet who predicts the coming of a savior to mediate their differences. The sets are so awesome!

- DirectorWilliam AsherStarsGene BarryValerie FrenchGeorge VoskovecAliens take five people, give them small capsules which can kill mankind without additional damage, with the understanding they will colonize Earth only if they use the weapons. This is kind of like The Man From Earth, with better acting, good direction and fairly good writing.
If you don't like talking you won't like this film. - DirectorZale DalenStarsPeter BreckGermain HoudeJello BiafraWelcome to Terminal City, a decaying world where the citizens wallow amidst a mind-boggling profusion of discarded consumer goods; a ruthless world where television is exploited to its fullest to sell yet more needless junk to eager consumers; a bewildering land where the unreal is real and the real, unreal. Alex Stevens is hurled into this bedlam where he finds himself pitted against the maniacal Ross Gilmore, Mayor of Terminal City, and the evil Bruce Coddle, agent of Gilmore's Social Peace Enforcement Unit.So this movie was completely unexpected.
Imagine Brazil, The Bed Sitting Room, Bill and Teds' Bogus Journey, A Boy and his Dog, Breakfast of Champions, Farenheit 451 and the punk aesthetic all mixed together, some receiving greater form than others, one of the results ends up being this film. I thought it was great. - DirectorMamoru OshiiStarsMako HyôdôJinpachi NezuKeiichi NodaA mysterious young girl wanders a desolate, otherworldly landscape, carrying a large egg.A strange film with very nice artwork about a couple of people pondering about their existence and its purpose.

The roles are reversed in this one. - DirectorGareth CarrivickStarsChris O'DowdMarc WoottonDean Lennox KellyWhile drinking at their local pub, three social outcasts attempt to navigate a time-travel conundrum.Fun, fun, fun; again very similar to those movies with Pegg and Frost. There was/were going to be sequels but there was a death and they didn't make as much money as they were hoping to, so if anything, we must wait for a reboot or spiritual successor sometime in the mystical futures.
- DirectorRobert ZemeckisStarsMichael J. FoxChristopher LloydLea ThompsonAfter visiting 2015, Marty McFly must repeat his visit to 1955 to prevent disastrous changes to 1985...without interfering with his first trip. This is the first Back to the Future I saw and it is the only one I'd be willing to re-watch now-a-days. I mean you're basically watching the same movie in different time periods anyway and this has the future, and the future has hover boards, and that is all that matters.
- DirectorLadd Ehlinger Jr.StarsAshley BlackwellChris CarterDenise CarterFlatland is a two-dimensional universe occupied by living geometric figures - squares, triangles, circles, etc. A Square, Attorney At Law, finds himself in the middle of two upheavals: the rise of martial law by the circular leadership of Flatland, and the arrival of A Sphere, CEO Of Messiah, Incorporated, a creature from a hitherto-unknown third dimensional world. The content in the movie is great enough for the presentation to be of little concern. Really fun!
Based on the book. - DirectorJirí TrnkaStarsOtýlie BenískováJana WerichováTrnka's sci-fi vision of the future in which machines and robots try to substitute themselves into the most beautiful human relationships. A cybernetic robot is supposed to substitute for the loving grandmother of a little girl. The wise grandmother, however, comes back and the girl finds the warmth of her grandmother's loving arms again. Trnka's artistic ideas in this film can be described as both poetically fragile and dramatically cautionary.Lovely stop-motion animation by Jiri Trnka. If you liked Coraline this will be up your alley no doubt.
- DirectorMizuho NishikuboMamoru OshiiStarsAtsuko TanakaIemasa KayumiAkio ÔtsukaA cyborg policewoman and her partner hunt a mysterious and powerful hacker called the Puppet Master.
- DirectorLance MungiaStarsJeffrey FalconJustin McGuireKim De AngeloIn the post-apocalyptic world of 1990s Nevada, a rock 'n' roll samurai on his way to Lost Vegas takes a young orphan boy under his protection as Death and his metalhead Horsemen chase after them. This is stupid, ridiculously stupid, so if you're not into whacked out spaghetti westerns with nods and winks left, right, above and below ground, from the ether and any other place you can think of but loose, don't think about touching this.
- DirectorGeoff MurphyStarsBruno LawrenceAlison RoutledgePete SmithA scientist awakens to find himself alone in the world. In a desperate attempt to search for others, he finds only two who have their own agenda. There's a bit of cheese here but all in all it's a mysterious movie that starts much like its post-apocalyptic predecessors; a lone survivor surviving and then introducing another couple of characters, one to boost the main character, the second to bring him back down.
- DirectorHiroshi TeshigaharaStarsTatsuya NakadaiMikijirô HiraKyôko KishidaA businessman with a disfigured face obtains a lifelike mask from his doctor, but the mask starts altering his personality.A slow burn meditation on identity and the implication of hiding behind a mask. This I feel is Hiroshi Teshigahara's best film because it's not only based on interesting material, it's also a lot of fun. - DirectorNazim TulyahodzhayevStarsYury BelyayevNelli PshyonnayaGogi GegechkoriAdaptation of three short stories by Ray Bradbury. An atmosphere of hostility forms inside an unnamed city, and the citizens are unsettled by the materialization of ghosts and the memories of their loved ones.A strange movie based on Ray Bradbury's story, The Veldt. I haven't read it so maybe it would have been easier to understand if I had. To be honest I'm not sure what happened but it got better as it went along. It's made of fragments; there's a nursery that lets you enter an African desert, a clone warehouse, an oppressive regime, a father who looks for his dead son in an alternate plane and a grandfather who's last possession is a telephone and yet it all melds together seamlessly.

Back in the year 2000 there was a game released called Deus Ex and I wanted to play it but never got around to it until 2010 and yet I still haven't played more than half an hour. I think I spent my birthday money on Unreal Tournament instead, but anyway, soon after I saw a DVD of K-Pax and thought it had something to do with the Deus Ex universe and U2 were promoting it with one of their songs and so I ended up eagerly anticipating a viewing of it. When I finally did watch it I found out it had nothing to do with Deus Ex, but I did find out that it was based on this film and so I tracked it down and watched it.

The movie basically rests on the validity of a telephone conversation and it makes for a rather good hinge from then on. I was really surprised by this film.

It has plenty of atmosphere from memory. The lighthouse scenes were weaker than the street scenes, much weaker, but it's definitely better than 28 Days Later....

She lands in Paris - quite a cultural shock. Earthlings are strange.Light and fluffy comedy about humanity and the French people. The jokes generally aren't crack-up affairs though there is a wonderful scene in which an orchestra improvises. Another wonderful commodity of the films is Marion Cotillard at 20/21 - hot, hot, hot.

My favourite scene in this movie is when he sends his family cash and by the time all of the tax is accounted for there's only like 10% left. - DirectorPiotr SzulkinStarsDaniel OlbrychskiJerzy StuhrKatarzyna FiguraIn the 21st century, prisoners aboard penitentiary space ships explore unknown worlds. This film concerns the fate of our hero who like a hero is rejoiced by the masses, receives media attention, helps the poor and that's before he even does anything remotely heroic.

I thought the story was interesting and well told and Kiefer Sutherlands' voice was well suited to the character.
This version is in four parts.
It was also released as Armitage III: Poly Matrix, a movie, with a bunch of stuff edited out. I personally don't see too much wrong with the movie version but again, if you want to see it the way it was intended then watch this version.
There is also a film sequel to Poly Matrix entitles Armitage III: Dual Matrix which I have not seen. - DirectorRichard LinklaterStarsKeanu ReevesWinona RyderRobert Downey Jr.An undercover cop in a not-too-distant future becomes involved with a dangerous new drug and begins to lose his own identity as a result.Tripped out visuals with tripped out characters all spewing hogwash, and it worked for me. I haven't seen it since it was released, perhaps now after a decade or so I'll be able to decipher these runny colours.
