- DirectorTim BurtonStarsEwan McGregorAlbert FinneyBilly CrudupA frustrated son tries to determine the fact from fiction in his dying father's life.Someone dear made me watch this movie. I was told it featured the most amazing and beautiful love story ever told, so I expected a lot from it and I was a bit disappointed (at the love story). To be honest, I shed a few tears. It's a beautiful story and it's beautifully told.
- DirectorJ.J. AbramsStarsElle FanningAJ MichalkaKyle ChandlerDuring the summer of 1979, a group of friends witness a train crash and investigate subsequent unexplained events in their small town.OK movie. Can't say much more.
- DirectorAlejandro G. IñárrituStarsLeonardo DiCaprioTom HardyWill PoulterA frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team.Very good movie. I tried not to expect too much after being mindblown by "Birdman" last year. It was good, very well executed. Stunning photography. DiCaprio doesn't have much dialogue - he doesn't need it. His eyes speak louder than words.
- DirectorLee Toland KriegerStarsBlake LivelyMichiel HuismanHarrison FordA young woman, born at the turn of the 20th century, is rendered ageless after an accident. After many solitary years, she meets a man who complicates the eternal life she has settled into.Watched it with my roomates. Awful movie. It was some kind of Benjamin Button wannabe. I LITERALLY predicted everything that was going to happen in this movie from minute 10. Boring and predictable.
- DirectorMarc WebbStarsZooey DeschanelJoseph Gordon-LevittGeoffrey ArendAfter being dumped by the girl he believes to be his soulmate, hopeless romantic Tom Hansen reflects on their relationship to try and figure out where things went wrong and how he can win her back.Rewatched it with my boyfriend on Valentine's day. One of my favorite movies.
- DirectorMark WatersStarsLindsay LohanJonathan BennettRachel McAdamsCady Heron is a hit with The Plastics, the A-list girl clique at her new school, until she makes the mistake of falling for Aaron Samuels, the ex-boyfriend of alpha Plastic Regina George.I neved had the chance to watch this movie as a teenager. I watched "Clueless" last year and I wanted to watch this one too. It was better than I expected. Has a witty kind of humor.
- DirectorRoger MichellStarsHugh GrantJulia RobertsRichard McCabeA set of circumstances makes Anna Scott, a famous actress, fall in love with William Thacker, owner of a bookstore in Notting Hill. But the paparazzi's fascination with her complicates their bond. This is the typical movie that runs almost every month on TV, yet I have never watched it whole. It's not bad, but you can't ask more from this kind of movies.
- DirectorGary WinickStarsKate HudsonAnne HathawayCandice BergenTwo best friends become rivals when they schedule their respective weddings on the same day. This movie was OK. A bit predictable, but I gotta admit there's a part of the argument I didn't see coming and I like that.
- DirectorAnne FletcherStarsSandra BullockRyan ReynoldsMary SteenburgenA pushy boss forces her young assistant to marry her in order to keep her visa status in the U.S. and avoid deportation to Canada. All my american friends freaked out when I told them I had never watched this movie. It seems to be some kind of essential so I decided to watch it. I also realised a lot of tv shows/articles/other movies make references to this and as a translator I had to at least check it out to know what's the fuss about. It's a nice movie, it was fun and not cheesy. That's all I want from romantic comedies.
- DirectorTim MillerStarsRyan ReynoldsMorena BaccarinT.J. MillerA wisecracking mercenary gets experimented on and becomes immortal yet hideously scarred, and sets out to track down the man who ruined his looks.Watched it the day after the Spain release date. It was good, definitely better than expected since I thought Ryan Reynolds wouldn't make a good Deadpool. But he did. He did awesome. The movie is really funny, it exploits its own flaws by commenting them in a hilarious way and some references had me falling from the theater chair in laughter. My boyfriend said it was Kick-Ass level. I don't think it reaches Kick-Ass level, but it is almost there.
- DirectorGenndy TartakovskyStarsAdam SandlerAndy SambergSelena GomezDracula and his friends try to bring out the monster in his half human, half vampire grandson in order to keep Mavis from leaving the hotel. As soon as the DVD launched, my little brother wanted me to get it for him, so I did. He had been telling me about this movie since he watched it at the cinema. We watched it together over dinner. It was ok, entertaining. The first one was definitely better.
- DirectorBen StillerStarsBen StillerOwen WilsonChristine TaylorAt the end of his career, a clueless fashion model is brainwashed to kill the Prime Minister of Malaysia.I was never curious about watching this movie. I had to watch it with my roomate and it was terrible. Truly terrible. I think it had 2 or 3 funny bits, the rest seemed to be written by a 10 year old.
- DirectorAnand TuckerStarsAmy AdamsMatthew GoodeAdam ScottAnna Brady plans to travel to Dublin, Ireland to propose to her boyfriend Jeremy on February 29, leap day, because, according to Irish tradition, a man who receives a marriage proposal on a leap day must accept it.Typical chickflick, you can see the end coming since the moment it begings. Still, it's entertaining.
- DirectorLuke GreenfieldStarsGinnifer GoodwinKate HudsonColin EgglesfieldFriendships are tested and secrets come to the surface when terminally single Rachel falls for Dex, her best friend Darcy's fiancé.I thought this movie was going to be a huge pain in the ass. It was, but not as huge as I thought it would be. I'm starting to think Kate Hudson is a really obnoxious person, does she ever get different kinds of parts?
- DirectorCameron CroweStarsBilly CrudupPatrick FugitKate HudsonA high-school boy in the early 1970s is given the chance to write a story for Rolling Stone magazine about an up-and-coming rock band as he accompanies them on their concert tour. What a nice surprise! I never heard a positive review of this movie from someone I know, so I decided to watch it by myself and I really liked it. It's deep and frivolous at the same time, and a good portrait of the rock industry at the time. Also, I was trying to find a movie in which Kate Hudson played someone nice and I found it. Penny Lane is almost inspiring.
- DirectorZack SnyderStarsBen AffleckHenry CavillAmy AdamsBatman is manipulated by Lex Luthor to fear Superman. Superman´s existence is meanwhile dividing the world and he is framed for murder during an international crisis. The heroes clash and force the neutral Wonder Woman to reemerge. Why does people criticize this movie so badly? I found it better than most superhero movies (super strong people fighting for the greater good who -from time to time- make stupid funny comments) apart from the fact that the conflict itself ends in a very, very, very stupid way. And by the way, Affleck plays a marvellous Batman.
- DirectorSean AndersStarsJason BatemanJason SudeikisCharlie DayDale, Kurt and Nick decide to start their own business but things don't go as planned because of a slick investor, prompting the trio to pull off a harebrained and misguided kidnapping scheme.Much worse than the first one, which was pretty funny in my opinion.
- DirectorJudd ApatowStarsSteve CarellCatherine KeenerPaul RuddGoaded by his buddies, a nerdy guy who's never "done the deed" only finds the pressure mounting when he meets a single mother. This is a very nice comedy. To be honest, I don't know if I would have found it as funny as I did if the main part would have been played by someone other than Steve Carell.
- DirectorPhil LordChristopher MillerStarsAnna FarisBill HaderBruce CampbellA local scientist is often regarded as a failure until he invents a machine that can make food fall from the sky. But little does he know that things are about to take a turn for the worst.
- DirectorFrank CoraciStarsAdam SandlerDrew BarrymoreWendi McLendon-CoveyAfter a bad blind date, a man and woman find themselves stuck together at a resort for families, where their attraction grows as their respective kids benefit from the burgeoning relationship.I never expect anything good from a Sandler movie, BUT... This movie is very innocent and beautiful. It is predictable, but it will make your heart tender.
- DirectorMark RomanekStarsRobin WilliamsConnie NielsenMichael VartanA mentally unstable photo developer targets an upper middle-class family after his obsession with them becomes more sick and disturbing than any of them could imagine. This movie is just ok. I had heard so many good comments about it and I expected a lot more. Williams does a brilliant job, though.
- DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsChris EvansRobert Downey Jr.Scarlett JohanssonPolitical involvement in the Avengers' affairs causes a rift between Captain America and Iron Man.YAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWNNN.
That's the best description I can come up with for this movie. - DirectorDuncan JonesStarsTravis FimmelPaula PattonBen FosterAs an Orc horde invades the planet Azeroth using a magic portal, a few human heroes and dissenting Orcs must attempt to stop the true evil behind this war.
- DirectorBryan SingerStarsPatrick StewartIan McKellenHugh JackmanThe X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants. This is probably my favorite X-men movie. It was pretty entertaining and amusing and getting to see the old cast again is nice for the ones who loved the first movies in elementary school. The only BUT I'm going to complain about is how they could have used Blink a lot more.
- DirectorBryan SingerStarsJames McAvoyMichael FassbenderJennifer LawrenceIn the 1980s, the X-Men must defeat an ancient all-powerful mutant, En Sabah Nur, who intends to thrive by bringing destruction to the world. There are so many goofs in this movie, you'll have a better time counting them than actually watching it. For starters, X-men universe is supposed to be a universe of science (not magic) but we get that absurd pyramid scenes. Apocalypse gathers only the most powerful mutants and he decides to "hire" PSYLOCKE, whose only power (in this movie) is MAKING WHIPS AND SWORDS OUT OF HER HAND. I mean, come on...
