One-Hit-Wonder Child Stars
It's not easy being a child star. Not only do many child stars not remain stars past childhood, but some end up having only one role, or at least only one role that could be considered notable. The reason that this happens can vary, but in such cases, a child star is less likely to be referred to by his or her own name than as "that kid from [movie title]" or "that kid who played [character name] in [movie title]."
The reasons that a child star may end up being a one-hit-wonder are pretty much the same reasons why a grown-up actor may reach the same fate. These include:
1. Lack of Interest (They decide that acting isn't for them after all)
2. Lack of Talent (They can't act well enough after all)
3. Lack of Success (Their breakout roles were in notorious flops; not necessarily fatal to a career)
4. A Tough Act to Follow (Their breakout roles were so perfect and iconic that no other roles could compare; also not necessarily fatal to a career)
5. Bad Luck (Basically any reason not listed above)
Note: The terms in the title may be used loosely.

Theodore Chester was born in 1991 and lives in London with his parents and two younger sisters. He has enjoyed acting ever since he was a little boy, appearing in school plays, but his break into professional acting came in 2002 when acting scouts, casting roles for Peter Pan (2003), came to his school. Theodore spent close to six months in Australia filming, during which time he was tutored on set and had the opportunity to surf and snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef.

Jake Matthew Lloyd Broadbent is an American former actor. He is most famous for playing Anakin Skywalker in "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)." Directed by George Lucas, the movie became the second-highest-grossing film worldwide at the box office, behind only "Titanic (1997)."
Lloyd appeared in commercials at a young age and appeared in four episodes of "ER (TV Series)." He made his film debut in "Unhook the Stars (1996)," starring Gena Rowlands and Marisa Tomei. After Lloyd achieved his dream of working with actor Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Christmas film "Jingle All the Way (1996)," director George Lucas picked him out of roughly 3,000 child actors to star as nine-year-old Anakin Skywalker in the highly anticipated prequel, "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace."
Despite massive box office success, "The Phantom Menace" met with extreme negative backlash from both critics and audiences, particularly with actor Ahmed Best's portrayal of Jar Jar Binks and with Lloyd's performance as Anakin Skywalker. After overwhelming response from both the media and the public, Lloyd retired from acting following "Episode I." He did, however, reprise his role as Anakin in five Star Wars video games for LucasArts. Although his last role was filmed in 2000, Lloyd's final film was "Madison (2005)," starring Jim Caviezel.
After Hollywood, Lloyd moved with his family to Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana and graduated with the Class of 2007. He enrolled at Columbia College Chicago to study film and psychology but dropped out in 2008. Later, Lloyd attended comic conventions as a media guest, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. He also started his own production company called Pumpkin Pact Productions [us]. Before long, Lloyd's mother, Lisa Flowers Broadbent, revealed to TMZ he suffers from schizophrenia and he was diagnosed back in 2008. In April 2016, Lloyd was transferred to a psychiatric facility.
After serving 11 months behind bars at Colleton County Detention Center in Walterboro, South Carolina, Lloyd was released from jail. Since his 2015 arrest, he has not done any interviews, made any public appearances nor been present on social media.Anakin Skywalker in "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace"- Actress

- Miffy was born in Hampshire in 1999 and her real name is Rebecca but her parents decided to nickname her Miffy on account of her messy hair that was always sticking up. At an early age Miffy always seemed older than her years and had to adapt quickly when her parents split up when she was only 2. It was decided that her father take custody of Miffy and her younger brother and sister; Jaydyn and Ashleigh. Despite being homeless for a while the family were soon re-housed and Miffy really started to show an aptitude for performing. She was always singing, dancing and acting, as well as directing her younger siblings in their family productions. Just before her fifth birthday she started to attend a local weekend stageschool and through this began to audition for various roles. The first audition Miffy attended she got and though it was only an ident for a toy manufacturer shown a couple of times on British television it gave Miffy a taste of working in front of a camera and all the waiting around between takes. Despite all the boredom and repetitiveness of the film industry it did not deter Miffy to give up auditioning but made her try harder for bigger and better roles. Some of the roles Miffy auditioned for include Casualty, which they penciled her in for but changed to a boy at the last minute, and another TV drama shown on ITV. Things really started to happen for Miffy when she audition for Nancy Meyers' 'Holiday' Project as it was then called. Hundreds of hopeful young girls attended this open audition and travelled the length and breadth of the country. Miffy was fortunate enough to be recalled a second time and a third. A couple of months passed since the third audition and Miffy and her family assumed she had not got the role. Then out of the blue another audition was set, but this time it was to be in front of Nancy Meyers directly and by this time the number of girls had been cut to only 6. Good feedback was received but another few months passed without any notification. One more audition was eventually set, again in front of the director but this time she was told quickly that the part of Sophie was hers. The hard work then really began with the introduction of learning script, direction and days in wardrobe before the cameras even started to roll.Sophie in "The Holiday"

- Ivan Jandl was born in 1937 to the family of accountant Klement Jandl and his wife, Bozena. When he was three, he suffered from polio, and it seemed that he would not be able to walk again, but a Dr. Pribramsky managed to do what seemed a miracle: Ivan was soon practically perfectly well. While at school, he played in the school theater and later joined the famed Disman Children's radio choir. From the choir, it was just a step to various roles in radio plays. His first film appearance was a very small role in Martin Fric's "Varúj!" but he remained with radio, which was where Fred Zinnemann chose him in an audition for The Search. After the film's success, Ivan got lots of fan mail from all over the world, and in 1949 he received a telegram, an approximate translation of which reads: "You won the Academy Award for outstanding child actor. Congratulations. F. Zinnemann," followed the next day by an explanation (because Oscars were not generally known there at the time) from the production company (Praesens Film): "An Oscar is the highest award given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Congratulations." Ivan couldn't attend the ceremony, so the Oscar was brought to him in Prague by some members of the academy. There he received many offers (films and contracts), but it was decided by the government that he was to be "preserved to be used by the Czech film industry," but ironically, he went on to make only 3 films: 1 in 1949, 1 in 1951, and 1 in 1955. After graduating from high school, Ivan wanted to study at the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU), but he was told he should not have accepted an award from the American film industry and was thus turned down. He then changed careers many times, only to return to the radio in 1965 as a program manager, becoming an announcer in 1969. In 1972, he was forced to leave radio. He had a brief stint as a stage manager in a theater in Teplice, and that was all there was for him in show business. In 1985, for the first time since 1948, he met Jarmila Novotna, the famed opera singer who portrayed his mother in The Search. In 1987, Ivan died at the age of 50 of diabetic complications in his apartment in Prague.Karel Malik in "The Search"

Both of his parents accompanied him to the filming location, and enjoyed the experience, but it was also disruptive to the family life. Kelly only appeared in three films before high school graduation in 1984. After graduation, he planned on acting more, and acquired a new agent.
