BRITISH GANGSTER FILMS You MAY NOT HAVE SEEN
I love Gangster Rap, but every time the rappers do a movie it's all about whining about getting out of the business, respecting woman blah blah. British gangster films are unrepetant braggadocio. They also have interesting but believable over the top characters.

- DirectorArthur LuhnStarsCharlie AlejandroRudi AnnaHilary BarrafordThe Boston Underworld is too small for all of them. And there's only one big prize left. It's about to go under. All the smart operators have gone to jail, and all that's left behind are the eccentric whacks and nut jobs deemed unworthy of being put behind bars. From Napolitano who runs the North End with the belief that every room is bugged, to Mr. Million, who is so insecure he needs constant reassurance, to a rampant gang that can't take directions from anyone, simply because they can't hear a single thing- their preferred method of communication is sign language which leaves everyone asking, just what is going on? Out of this melting pot of eccentric and dysfunctional criminals, ambitions arise and inevitably clash. With less and less up for stake, there is a sense of urgency for everyone to grab what they can and make a run for it before the underworld is shut down for good. As time runs out, attention turns to the biggest horse race which everyone knows is fixed, but just what is fixed? While everyone zeroes in on cashing out on the fixed race, they unfortunately become oblivious to the big con that is being laid out, leaving open the question of just who gets to take off with the big payday!Available on NELFIX: Conned is actually a Boston Underworld Southie Gangster knock-off of "SNATCH". Most of all, he has remained friends with Serge Suttel, with whom he first discovered prison life - for stealing cherries. The two of them inevitably got involved in organized crime. The team they formed, the Gang Des Lyonnais, made them the most notorious armed robbers of the early 1970s. Their irresistible rise ended in 1974 with a spectacular arrest. Today, as he nears 60, Momon would like to forget that part of his life. He has found peace by retiring from the "business". He tends to his wife Janou, who suffered so in the past, and to his children and grandchildren, all of whom have great respect for this man of simple and universal values, so clear-headed and full of kindness. But then Serge Suttel, who has disowned nothing of his past, comes back into the picture. This is the French letting Yanks, Limeys, and Chinks know that they can stilll do a better gangster than all of us combined. Mainly because because the cops, gangsters, vicitms, and witnesses are all have Humility, and are Dark and Brooding. It doesn't matter if they have badges or Baclavas (oh now I'm doing it too damn frogs) the bad guys are the clean cut and showered, anyone whom looks like thay need a shave and a shower is the movie hero.
