The Jewish fighters finally connect with the Polish underground, hopeful about joining them and receiving arms, but the Poles refuse to arm them.(A Tear in the Ocean) French with English Subtitles
I saw a VHS w/o subtitles on a French site.
Played briefly in N.Y.C. in a Cinema V theatre
Distributed by Levitt-Pickman film corp. (no longer exists)
This film is amazingly sensitive toward Jews for a French film. It is about the resistance to the Nazis in Poland (Warsaw?) by some Jews who fight. It portrays the religious Jews also who do not fight but who are part of the fighting Jews' community. It goes on to show the Polish underground's attitude toward the Jews who turn to them for weapons and assistance. - DirectorKemal HoruluSidney KnightSimon NuchternStarsJohn RossLinda SouthernSusan SparlingA man must decide whether to flee the U.S. draft and go to stay in Canada or go fight for his country in Vietnam.Director, Simon Nuchturn (deceased)

This film is about a young man agonizing about the draft during the Viet Nam conflict. He has friends already in Canada who party hearty. He turns to his father and his priest for help.
