New features are an eight player-mode, support for Nintendo's Amiibos, custom Miis as playable fighters, post-release DLC and more.Everything you could possibly want in this game and more, more, more!
- DirectorKosuke YabukiStarsTomo AdachiNate BihldorffDavid CookeMario and the rest race against each other for the gold cup again. Underwater and air gliding returns. Mario Kart 8 introduces zero gravity, and has a total of 48 race tracks.Brilliantly balanced. Just missing that normal battle mode.
- DirectorMasahiro SakuraiStarsShintarô AsanumaHisao EgawaAlesia GlidewellThe handheld version of the 4th installment in the Smash Bros. series, featuring the likes of famous Nintendo characters like Mario to famous guest characters like Pac-Man.So far, the controls are hard to get used to on the tiny 3DS (designed for XL I imagine) and the circle pad is a pain. Online play has been solid so far. Hoping for tournaments. Gameplay is as good as ever.
- StarsTakashi NagasakoKatsumi SuzukiToshihide TsuchiyaAfter being marooned on a distant island by viking invaders from the Arctic, DK and his crew must fight to reclaim their stolen (and newly frozen-over) island home.Another 2D HD platforming adventure on the Wii U that doesn't take any particular advantage of the gamepad. But a nonetheless exceedingly fun game built on solid fundamentals and inspired gameplay touches.
My biggest gripe with "DKCReturns" were the boring boss battles. Thankfully, they are improved overall in this game (more fun, more challenging). But unlike that game there isn't enough new here. The unique visual palette of some levels (silhouetted), the rocket barrel, mine cart and rhino levels, and the chase sequences are all still here but aren't brought anywhere too uniquely new (except to the third dimension...yes sometimes you now head INTO the screen in these levels instead of just across). I wish more levels had the joyful exuberance and tactical musical precision of the first level of the third world (Grasslands Groove), but sadly that's the only one of its vein.
Also I hate ice. - DirectorNeil McFarlandThe player guides the silent princess Ida through mysterious monuments, to uncover hidden paths, unfold optical illusions and outsmart the enigmatic Crow People
- DirectorSean VelascoA heroic knight with a shovel takes on the many forces of the wicked Enchantress to save the world.A fun old school platformer with a fun gameplay hook and simple yet challenging gameplay.
- DirectorShinya HiratakeKenta MotokuraStarsSamantha KellyKenny JamesNate BihldorffWhen Captain Toad and Captain Toadette are out adventuring, they encounter a Power Star. Unfortunately, Wingo, liver of all things shiny, steals the Power Star, along with Toadette.A pleasing diversion. I enjoyed the Captain Toad levels in "Super Mario 3D World", and I think that pretty much will sum up if you will like this game. It could be a lot more challenging given the puzzle nature, and some kind of multiplayer would make sense. But it's fun and enjoyable.
- DirectorDominic RobilliardA bird and a Fish are in love with each other. The player needs to follow the rhythmic game to let them entwine into a magnificent soaring dragon so they can be together for ever.Kinda fun but you think it would be more magical and engaging.
- DirectorShinji MikamiYun M. WatanabeStarsAnson MountJennifer CarpenterJackie Earle HaleyWhile investigating the scene of a cruel murder, detective Sebastian Castellanos is knocked unconscious by a mysterious and powerful force. When he awakens, he finds himself in a deranged world.Just ok. I can appreciate some of what's here, but most of the tension in most moments comes from poorly implemented stealth gameplay. Not a fan of that at all.
- DirectorAlistair HopeStarsAndrea DeckGeorge AntonKezia BurrowsIn this first person survival horror adventure set fifteen years after the events of Alien (1979), Ripley's daughter becomes trapped on an alien-infested space station which holds answers to the mystery of her mother's disappearance.I don't get the love for this game. The stealth is atrocious. The A.I. is broken, it always seems to hover around you and can spot you through cracks and behind walls and if it gets too close. The alien doesn't move very smoothly. It walks around like a hulking nemesis most of the time, waiting to spot you instead of hunting you. First person controls are imprecise for stealth too, good luck trying to escape and do something with precision.
This game looks like Alien and talks like Alien, they at least got that right but they also have failed to give it much purpose storywise. I have an incomplete there though since I didn't finish the game.
