Top 5 most underrated superhero movies
If you didn't know, I've written a few lists centered around superhero movies, and then I started thinking that a lot of my opinions when it comes to movies in general, but especially superhero movies, are rather unconventional. There are quite a few comic book movies that I enjoy, or would even rank very high, that seem to get an unfair rep, so today, I'm going to reveal my picks.

- DirectorBryan SingerStarsBrandon RouthKevin SpaceyKate BosworthSuperman returns to Earth after spending five years in space examining his homeworld Krypton. But he finds things have changed while he was gone, and he must once again prove himself important to the world.I've never understood the hate for this movie, I mean, yes it is slow, and yes, it does copy several elements of previous Superman movies. But what's really funny is that now people complain about Man of Steel for the exact opposite reasons. Still, I think Superman Returns was well-written, and had a good cast, and gave Superman a movie that gave a very insightful look at his character, and showed us what Superman is all about. The fact that he never hits anyone in this movie, just reinforces who Superman is.
- DirectorMarc WebbStarsAndrew GarfieldEmma StoneJamie FoxxWhen New York is put under siege by Oscorp, it is up to Spider-Man to save the city he swore to protect as well as his loved ones.I could just as easily put The Amazing Spider-man 1 here, but this one does get more hate, and is just generally regarded as plain bad. I've heard a lot of the complaints, too many plot-lines, too dark, blah-blah. The ASM movies are just about the perfect superhero movies, with a great cast, and even if this story is occasionally muddled, it's still a good one. What really annoys me is that when this was replaced with what will most likely be another bland MCU movie that is identical to all the others, everyone was happy. I could not find a single video or web-page lamenting the loss of this great series.
- DirectorMark Steven JohnsonStarsBen AffleckJennifer GarnerColin FarrellA man blinded by toxic waste which also enhanced his remaining senses fights crime as an acrobatic martial arts superhero.Okay, I know what you're thinking, this movie is supposed to be bad, but I think Daredevil is a fairly entertaining movie, with the right balance of fun and serious. There are some action scenes that are actually pretty good, and I think the cast also did a good job. Yes, it's cheesy, but so are the original Spider-man movies (which I still like quite a bit, by the way), and they don't get half the hate. I'm not saying this is a great movie, what I'm saying is that this movie isn't half as bad as it's reputation would suggest. And I am talking about the theatrical version, I've never seen the Director's Cut, and I'm perfectly fine with the version I have.
- DirectorJoe JohnstonStarsChris EvansHugo WeavingSamuel L. JacksonSteve Rogers, a rejected military soldier, transforms into Captain America after taking a dose of a "Super-Soldier serum". But being Captain America comes at a price as he attempts to take down a warmonger and a terrorist organization. This movie isn't widely considered bad, but there are a lot of haters out there, and I think this is one of the better MCU movies, because it tells a simple, and confined story, that isn't cluttered with twelve different superheroes/villains. It also manages to create a fun vibe, without destroying tension, something the MCU seemed to have lost interest in doing anymore, based on recent movies. Chris Evans is a great Captain America, and the supporting cast all complement and play off of his character nicely.
- DirectorSam RaimiStarsTobey MaguireKirsten DunstTopher GraceA strange black entity from another world bonds with Peter Parker and causes inner turmoil as he contends with new villains, temptations, and revenge.I'm not saying this is a great movie, in fact, it's easily the worst of the Spider-man movies, but I think this movie is unfairly judged. It has a lot of problems, but it's also pretty entertaining, even if sometimes it's not intentional. There are too many villains and story-lines, but I think Sam Raimi did just about the best he could with this movie, considering that the studio forced Venom on him a movie earlier than he'd planned. It's a big drop from the first two movies, but it's still not one of the worst superhero movies out there, it's just kind of average.
