- StarsJeff BergmanPillsbury Doughboy shows how to make Spooky Cookies.1 October: Was kinda tired, but also wanted to start with something, so here we go. Ghosts, vampires (well, at least someone with a Dracula accent), goblins, zombies... Halloween commercials never disappoint.
- DirectorOliver TreeStarsOliver TreeRicky RobinsonMinimalist karaoke-like lyric video for Oliver Tree's song "1993".2 October: Um. This song is Halloowen-ish enough with gritty lyrics, featured singer being an alien (well, his character is) and overall zany atmosphere of Oliver Tree's discography.
- StarsMike StoklasaJay BaumanRLM's popular series, Jeb and Mark Blark Abort, returns to spotlight a Halloween-themed movie, Cobweb, released alongside Barbie and Oppenheimer. The film's untimely release led to a disappointing box office, baffling everyone.2 October: They even mention that Cobweb (2023) is distinctively a Halloween movie.
- DirectorJoseph HahnStarsBriana EviganLinkin ParkChester BenningtonThe video follows the domestic and social problems faced during a day in the life of an unpopular outcast young female student3 October: A diner near my workplace plays this music video from time to time.
- DirectorJoern HeitmannStarsRammsteinTill LindemannRichard KruspeMembers of the popular German band Rammstein meet years later--older and now morbidly obese--to jam in an abandoned warehouse.3 October: Said diner's new barista is also big on Rammstein...
- DirectorEmanuel FialikHamish HamiltonStarsRammsteinTill LindemannRichard KruspeGerman heavy metal band Rammstein embarked on their wildly successful Ahoi Tour which took them around the world from 2004-2005. Völkerball consists of live footage from around the world including a full concert from Nimes, France and higlights from shows in London, Moscow, and Tokyo.3 October: Really big on Rammstein.
- DirectorBill PopeMichael SalomonStarsMetallicaKirk HammettJames HetfieldThe music video for Metallica's 1989 song "One" from their album "...And Justice for All". It was their first ever official music video and shows haunting excerpts from the 1971 film "Johnny Got His Gun".3 October: He's also big on Metallica. Reminds me I need to finally watch Johnny Got His Gun (1971).
- DirectorSpecter BerlinStarsRuby CommeyRammsteinChristoph SchneiderThe music video preview sparked criticism a few hours after release. The video features various events from Germany's history such as the Middle Ages, The Holocaust, World War 2, and the Berlin Wall; as well as others such as scenes in space. A black woman appears throughout the video. The video was directed by Specter Berlin and was released online on 28 March 2019 at 6:00 PM CET, following a 35-second preview for the video two days prior.3 October: More Rammstein.
- DirectorCyriak HarrisStarsCyriak HarrisCute animated world full of kittens experiences a gruel zombie apocalypse.4 October: This one felt like a proper start to Halloween season, tbh. An absolute legend that is Cyriak Harris never disappoints.
- DirectorJelle PosthumaStarsSharon den AdelArmin van Buuren5 October: This just happened to be on the same cafeteria TV. I'll let it slide.
- DirectorPaul BoydStarsStingMohamed KhelifatiA promotional video for Sting's 2000 single "Desert Rose."5 October: Similarly.
- DirectorZoran BihacEugenio RecuencoStarsRammsteinChristoph SchneiderPaul LandersIn this video, the character of the Sandman is played by Melanie Gaydos. She first appears to a sleeping Richard Kruspe, triggering nightmares and sending him into a state of agony. Meanwhile, Till terrorizes the complex of Beelitz-Heilstatten, which acts an orphanage. He kidnaps the orphans and places them in a cage located in the main bathroom. A female warden attempts to defend the children with a shotgun, but Till overpowers her. The warden appears in the video both young and old, while Till remains the same age, indicating immortality and paranormal abilities.5 October: Arguably the most fitting Rammstein video of the bunch.
- DirectorMiikka LommiStarsMikko BjörkRaymond EbanksPetri KanervaA kid with an attitude is listening to music on a subway car when a trickster (played by the band's lead singer) gives him the power to freeze, rewind and fast-forward time with his minidisc player. The kid wastes it on trivial pranks.5 October: The concept of a remote controlling reality itself was used for comedy, for horror and, as evidenced here, for music.
- DirectorJoern HeitmannStarsSandra HöflingerRichard KruspePaul Landers6 October: Oktoberfest crossing over with Halloween via fever dream.
- DirectorJack BenderStarsHarold PerrineauCatalina Sandino MorenoEion BaileyIn Sheriff Boyd's absence, Donna and Kenny struggle to manage the chaos as a busload of unwitting newcomers arrives in town; Victor and Tabitha go on a chilling journey through the nightmarish labyrinth of tunnels beneath the town.6 October: I was initially skeptical about From (2022), but still decided to watch Season 2 with my girlfriend, since it was indeed a good fit for the season (and since I had no problem following the plot at all despite skipping Season 1). It grew on me, a lot. Pleasant autumn vibes, atmosphere, a lot of unnerving and interesting plot points and stylistic choices. I've especially became a fan of breakout star Jamie McGuire.
- DirectorJack BenderStarsHarold PerrineauCatalina Sandino MorenoEion BaileyA tense night in the diner as the residents and newcomers wait for sunrise; fear permeates the wreckage beneath the Matthews house, as Jim and Tom struggle to keep a panicked bus passenger quiet.6 October: From (2022)

- DirectorMillicent SheltonStarsAngela BassettPeter KrauseJennifer Love HewittThe 118 fights an apartment building blaze; Athena's response to an accident leads to a more sinister crime; Hen performs a risky medical procedure; Buck meets a retired firefighter and is inspired to reunite him with his lost love.9 October: Normally I would've excluded this one, but both this and From (2022) had torascostomy which is a special trauma/fear for me, so I'll let this slide.
- DirectorJoern HeitmannStarsRammsteinChristoph SchneiderPaul LandersThe video shows the band at the funeral of the lead singer, Till Lindemann, with some other mourners.10 October: More Rammstein. This one fits a lot, as well.
- DirectorMatt MahurinStarsKirk HammettJames HetfieldMetallicaMusic video for Metallica's 1991 song "The Unforgiven". Next to the band performing the song it features a boy born in captivity who spends his life in a windowless stone room. He ages into an old man and spends his life carving a window.10 October: More Metallica.

- DirectorPaul AndresenStarsMarianne FaithfullKirk HammettJames HetfieldA promotional video for Metallica's 1997 single "The Memory Remains."10 October: More Metallica.
- DirectorWayne IshamStarsKirk HammettJames HetfieldMetallicaMusic video for Metallica's 1992 song "Wherever I May Roam". It features the band touring and preparing for a show before finally performing the song in a stadium in front of a live audience.10 October: More Metallica.
- DirectorSamuel BayerStarsMetallicaKirk HammettJames HetfieldMusic video for Metallica's 1996 song "Until It Sleeps" featuring a modern day Jesus being crucified as well as the band being trapped by a snake-like she-demon as well as other Christian-inspired imagery.10 October: More Metallica. Numerous neat allusions to Hieronymus Bosch.
- DirectorSamuel BayerStarsThe CranberriesMike HoganNoel HoganThe Cranberries perform in the music video "Zombie" from the album "No Need to Argue" recorded for Island Records. The video begins with black and white footage of British soldiers patrolling in Northern Island. The band plays as Dolores O'Riordan sings as she stands painted gold in front of a cross.10 October: I know, I know. Thematically labeling this a Halloween song is contextual blindness, but video still fits well with a Halloween aesthetic.
- DirectorNatalya MotuzkoStarsRaisa NedashkovskayaOlha SumskaNele SavicenkoRetelling of a folk legend about a beautiful sorceress and her young apprentice. The older witch initiates the younger into a magical world while two winged men observe them.13 October: Saw it in a new, rediscovered restoration as a part of Kyiv Critics' Week. An amazing, if somewhat sleepy movie. A lot of witchcraft, surreal scenes and they also mention stabbing witches with an aspen stake, something usually reserved for vampires.
- DirectorOlivier AssayasStarsMaggie CheungJean-Pierre LéaudNathalie RichardA Hong Kong actress, Maggie Cheung playing a fictional version of herself, is cast in France to star in a remake of Les vampires (1915), but petty intrigues and clashing egos plague the production.16 October: Kyiv Critics' Week. An amazing wildcard for the season, but fits like a glove. I love movies about filmmaking (metamovies), and this one also concerns whether role becomes one's identity, the original meaning of Les vampires (1915) and explicitly mentions that titular Vampires are in fact a name of a gang. The ending is amazing. Films like that usually fit more with Halloween Hangover marathons, but this one was amazingly appropriate for me this year, glad I've finally caught up with it and on a big screen, no less.
- DirectorSofia CoppolaStarsCailee SpaenyJacob ElordiAri CohenWhen teenage Priscilla Beaulieu meets Elvis Presley, the man who is already a meteoric rock-and-roll superstar becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness, a vulnerable best friend.16 October: I'll let this one slide due to a few gorgeous scenes set in autumn. Premiere at Kyiv Critics' Week.
- DirectorTonya NoyabrovaStarsKaryna KhymchukMaksim MikhaylichenkoNatalia LazebnikovaKira is living her life with the teenage confidence that the world revolves around her. Born and raised in the late Soviet Ukraine, she sees her life predictable and clear. But it doesn't last long.17 October: Kyiv Critics' Week. This is a coming-of-age drama about the early 90's in Ukraine pretty much how I remember them (sometimes painfully so), but as with the previous entry I'm totally letting this slide for autumn scenes alone.
- DirectorMathieu KassovitzStarsHalle BerryPenélope CruzRobert Downey Jr.A psychiatrist awakens as a patient in a mental institution, with no memory of the murder she's accused of committing. As she tries to regain her memory, a vengeful spirit manipulates her.19 October: Took me twenty years to see this movie. It's okay. It fits.
