- DirectorTim BurtonStarsMichael KeatonJack NicholsonKim BasingerThe Dark Knight of Gotham City begins his war on crime with his first major enemy being Jack Napier, a criminal who becomes the clownishly homicidal Joker.Decently fun time
Liked the campiness, dark vibe, practical effects, Michael Keaton not being able to turn his head
Didn’t like how supposed aspiring Pulitzer Prize winning journalist didn’t know Bruce Wayne, billionaire, had parents who were murdered right in front of them. Love plot feels forced, character motivations are mid. Joker just wants to best man and Bruce Wayne isn’t really explored so you don’t even know his motivations. The fucking side characters are more developed than him.
Would I watch it again - No - DirectorTim BurtonStarsMichael KeatonDanny DeVitoMichelle PfeifferWhile Batman deals with a deformed man calling himself the Penguin wreaking havoc across Gotham with the help of a cruel businessman, a female employee of the latter becomes the Catwoman with her own vendetta.Pretty good film
Pretty dark, little less cheesy. can get over the top a bit with the Penguins sexual commentary.
Overall, enjoyed DeVito, Bruce Wayne has more of a role in this film, love plot felt more natural, parallels between Batman, Catwoman, and Penguin are good and their conclusions make sense for the characters.
Watch again and recommend - DirectorPatrick WilsonStarsTy SimpkinsPatrick WilsonRose ByrneThe Lamberts must go deeper into The Further than ever before to put their demons to rest once and for all.Didn’t like much. Some of the cinematography is nice. But the story was completely unnecessary and didn’t add anything to the overall narrative of insidious. It felt like a carbon copy of earlier films. To top it off, shit wasn’t even scary.

Would I recommend: NO - DirectorBen WheatleyStarsJason StathamJing WuShuya Sophia CaiA research team encounters multiple threats while exploring the depths of the ocean, including a malevolent mining operation.Dumb fun
First half kind of sucked. Environmental themes and subtext are way too surface levels and serious for such a shitty movie.
Second half though is a great time. Got good laughs. The fast and furious of shark movies. Shark impalement scene and jet ski shark fighting solidified this movie as dumb fun. Fun island people getting eaten by giant creatures
The backstabbing coworker twist was unexpected but added nothing to the story that made me think it was good.

Would I recommend: Only as a drinking activity - DirectorAdele LimStarsAshley ParkSherry ColaStephanie HsuFollows four Asian American friends as they bond and discover the truth of what it means to know and love who you are, while they travel through China in search of one of their birth mothers.Good, raunchy fun.
The familiar road trip plot that takes your four on whacky adventures. The character development for each is simple and ultimately predictable. Themes are more relatable to some than others but are understandable and done fine. What’s unpredictable is the dumb shit they get into, and a fair amount of it will make you laugh. Albeit maybe not super hard, but definitely laughing. I liked the scenes with the basketball team and the coke.

Would I recommend: with women, yes - DirectorDamien ChazelleStarsMiles TellerJ.K. SimmonsMelissa BenoistA promising young drummer enrolls at a cut-throat music conservatory where his dreams of greatness are mentored by an instructor who will stop at nothing to realize a student's potential.Great film
The film is the pinnacle of great writing, directing, and acting. Character motivations are consistent and heartbreaking. JK Simmons is a legend

Recommend: yes - DirectorAndy MuschiettiStarsEzra MillerMichael KeatonSasha CalleBarry Allen uses his super speed to change the past, but his attempt to save his family creates a world without super heroes, forcing him to race for his life in order to save the future.Decent film
The special effects do such a bad job at keeping your suspension of disbelief. The ending battle in the desert is fucking lame. Late to the multiverse game and it’s incorporation has some cool moments and other moments that are lame.
The emotional tone, Ezra Miller playing half an annoying goofball and half a mentor is oddly pleasing. Keaton is solid. Plenty of cool action but wish they made super speed look cool.

Watch again: yes - DirectorZack SnyderStarsBen AffleckHenry CavillAmy AdamsBatman is manipulated by Lex Luthor to fear Superman. Superman´s existence is meanwhile dividing the world and he is framed for murder during an international crisis. The heroes clash and force the neutral Wonder Woman to reemerge.Just a plain bad movie
Way too many plot holes to even list. For starters the movie is guilty of the plot device where character not communicating an event simply, in this case that the bad guy is manipulating each other (something Superman knows) he withholds the information and they fight, causing destruction and death. Lex Luthor’s motivation don’t have a clear end game and even with a god complex don’t really make sense. Batman having no moral compass and straight up murdering people is wrong. Superman continues to have no personality. Daily Planet boss cannot possibly be that stupid or good of a boss to not fire Clark when he doesn’t show up for work. The icing on the cake that Batman doesn’t kill Superman because their moms have the same names…the fuck is that bs. Wonder woman’s role in the film is shoved in there and doesn’t make it better
Stay the fuck away from this film - DirectorJoel SchumacherStarsVal KilmerTommy Lee JonesJim CarreyBatman must battle former district attorney Harvey Dent, who is now Two-Face and Edward Nygma, The Riddler with help from an amorous psychologist and a young circus acrobat who becomes his sidekick, Robin.Super campy, ok film
I didn’t like Jim Carrey in this. Way over the top and found his scenes less entertaining as the film went on. Two face was wasted and there’s no point of his coin if he just flips it to get the desired result. Riddlers device to take over the world is cool in theory, knowledge is power and his arc made sense. Ending scene special effects to save the love interest and robin was lame.
Batman felt like he had an actual story compared to burtons movies. Trying to live a double life with a believable love interest. The arc closes nicely with him choosing the double life rather than fighting it. While the campiness was sometimes unenjoyable other times I found slightly endearing.

This movie is just plain bad. To be fair, if you’re into art house esque projects, this may be up your alley. The story is simple, but the way it’s told was so overbearingly nauseating uninteresting, pretentious, and lacking real tension, fear, or dread that I honestly can’t determine whether people are acting like they enjoyed this film or were paid reviewers.
Garbage.
Would I watch again: emphatic no
Would I recommend: absolutely not - DirectorZack SnyderStarsHenry CavillBen AffleckGal GadotDetermined to ensure that Superman's ultimate sacrifice wasn't in vain, Bruce Wayne recruits a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions.Waste of 4 hours
There are improvements in character design (villain) and story arcs for (cyborg and flash), but there was so much filler. Much darker but it kinda means shit when the cgi still looks shitty. It is an improvement over justice league as far as building suspension. However, what good does it do when the story is marginally better but you took 4 hours to tell it.

Would I recommend: no - DirectorZack SnyderStarsHenry CavillAmy AdamsMichael ShannonAn alien child is evacuated from his dying world and sent to Earth to live among humans. His peace is threatened when other survivors of his home planet invade Earth.Enjoyed it, but ZS is a problem
I did enjoy the film, but why is Superman stealing clothes and destroying someone’s property. Superman should be a morally good person and that’s what stands out more than his powers, yet they don’t humanize him and he barely saves people. In fact, him and the villain cause mass destruction. Lois Lane feels forced into the plot.
I did enjoy the villain. He killed it. Overall story was straightforward and a pretty safe film.

Would I recommend it: no - DirectorPeter SohnStarsLeah LewisMamoudou AthieRonnie Del CarmenFollows Ember and Wade, in a city where fire-, water-, earth- and air-residents live together.Pretty good film
Overall, the film hits the right emotional moments and was enjoyable. Not their best work. The metaphor using the elements doesn’t always match the subtext, the world they create literally doesn’t allow some elements to blend. The animation in the background is phenomenal, but the character designs were mid.

Would I recommend: no - DirectorHalina ReijnStarsAmandla StenbergMaria BakalovaMyha'laWhen a group of rich 20-somethings plan a hurricane party at a remote family mansion, a party game turns deadly.Below average film saved by a good ending
Almost every character is unlikeable and unrelatable. The events and the decisions that the characters make are believable as they are written, but that didn’t make them good. Most of the film is weak but it builds to an ending that got the only laugh out of me and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it.
Overall, it’s unsatisfying and unoriginal story is saved by a good ending that reshapes the whole movie. Which I do appreciate. However, they should have made the characters like-able as their personalities killed most of the movie. The subtext and themes regarding the current generation being unable to communicate and live without their phones, as well as the lack of power some words have now are too surface level to enjoy.

Would I recommend: yes, just for the ending - DirectorZack SnyderStarsBen AffleckGal GadotJason MomoaFueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his new-found ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy.Failure
This team up film is unfathomably weak. Flash is annoying. Him and Cyborg are not utilized well or at all. The cgi in most scenes is laughably bad. Comedic moments fall flat. This movie wanted to be the avengers so bad, but ultimately sucked.
Don’t watch it - DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleHeath LedgerAaron EckhartWhen the menace known as the Joker wreaks havoc and chaos on the people of Gotham, Batman must accept one of the greatest psychological and physical tests of his ability to fight injustice.A perfect super hero film
While this movie is not realistically perfect, it is damn near so. The action and suspense is top notch. The character arcs throughout the story are captivating. The casting and acting of all the big players, Joker and Two-Face are picture perfect and the performances are unforgettable. One of the most memorable cinematic experiences I have.
Would absolutely watch again and recommend - DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsTom HanksMatt DamonTom SizemoreFollowing the Normandy Landings, a group of U.S. soldiers go behind enemy lines to retrieve a paratrooper whose brothers have been killed in action.Excellent film
Entertaining for almost the entirety of the film. The few lulls are buried under a barrage of beautifully crafted action set pieces and the emotional weight of the film is astounding. The brutality of war on full display, ignoring any romantic ideas of war, is honest and captivating. While I don’t believe a mission like this would realistically happen, Spielberg has another world class performance.
Would absolutely recommend and watch again - DirectorReinaldo Marcus GreenStarsWill SmithAunjanue Ellis-TaylorJon BernthalA look at how tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams became who they are after the coaching from their father Richard.Run of the mill triumph biopic
I’m honestly surprised this film won any Oscar. While the film is good from a technical standpoint (tennis sequences are shot well for example), the casting/acting was fine, the story was okay…it’s not a pretty good or great film. It’s a boring film with essentially a lesson that King Richard is a prophet that everyone should listen to and not “judge a book by its cover.” Making him appear as an all knowing being of his daughters greatness could have worked had they made it believable that there was adversity. But there was little to none and practically no character flaws. The ending though was enjoyable, like any triumph based film. It’s very by the books and perhaps it’s seen highly because the people are renowned tennis players.

Would I recommend: yes, to tennis fans - DirectorEmerald FennellStarsCarey MulliganBo BurnhamAlison BrieNothing in Cassie's life is what it appears to be - she's wickedly smart, tantalizingly cunning, and she's living a secret double life. Now, an unexpected encounter is about to give Cassie a chance to right the wrongs from the past.Decent film
Solid film that isn’t perfect. Bo Burnham was a miscast and his acting was bad, but the main character (the most important) was great. I didn’t love the story in its entirety but it was captivating and was almost entirely believable. The ending is tongue in cheek but broke my suspension of disbelief, the classic over the top mastermind scheme to take down the bad guy is kinda lame when the build up to the ending was really strong and shocking.
Would I recommend: no
Would I watch again: no - DirectorJohn R. LeonettiStarsWard HortonAnnabelle WallisAlfre WoodardA couple begins to experience terrifying supernatural occurrences involving a vintage doll shortly after their home is invaded by satanic cultists.Great horror film, weak story
Like many of my horror ratings, it is biased. The story is simple, a doll gets possessed and haunts a family. They then try to exorcise the demon. It’s not original and while not particularly memorable, the set pieces and tension created by the director have memorable jumpscares and scenes. Perhaps, I also have a nostalgia bias but the elevator and subsequent chase scene are still one of my favorites.

Would I recommend: yes - DirectorChris ColumbusStarsDaniel RadcliffeRupert GrintEmma WatsonAn orphaned boy enrolls in a school of wizardry, where he learns the truth about himself, his family and the terrible evil that haunts the magical world.Absolute classic
The movie that started it all. Incredibly memorable film with solid world building, great character development, and respectable cgi for the time. An unforgettable main theme and picture perfect casting. By no means is it a perfect film, but one that will hold dear to my heart and millions of others.
Would watch again and recommend - DirectorTodd PhillipsStarsZach GalifianakisBradley CooperJustin BarthaThree buddies wake up from a bachelor party in Las Vegas, with no memory of the previous night and the bachelor missing. They make their way around the city in order to find their friend before his wedding. An absolute classic
A comedy film that has the perfect sequence of set pieces and chemistry between the main trio of actors. The character arcs are by no means crazy and the writing is not what will win you over. The crazy adventure this movies takes you on, however, will. It’s an incredibly well executed-comedy film.
Would watch again and recommend - DirectorMichael ChavesStarsTaissa FarmigaJonas BloquetStorm Reid1956 - France. A priest is murdered. An evil is spreading. The sequel to the worldwide smash hit follows Sister Irene as she once again comes face-to-face with Valak, the demon nun.Below average
The story is simple and unoriginal. The main message/subtext being the power of Christ compels you. The scares, like the story, are by the books and while it is very polished, aren’t executed well. I can appreciate the build up and the ideas but I never was scared. Character arcs and motivations are uninspiring and predictable.
I could watch it again, but I wouldn’t recommend it - DirectorJustin SimienStarsLaKeith StanfieldRosario DawsonOwen WilsonA single mom named Gabbie hires a tour guide, a psychic, a priest and a historian to help exorcise her newly bought mansion after discovering it is inhabited by ghosts.Good story held back by a bad lead
I actually really liked the story, and appreciated the themes of dealing with grief. I thought the journeys each character went on and how they grew as the story went on worked well. I thought Owen Wilson and DeVito were funny and stole their scenes. Overall it’s a fun movie, but the lead actor just doesn’t do it for me. He killed a lot of scenes. Another actor who disappointed was Jamie Lee Curtis.
I wouldn’t watch it again or recommend. - DirectorNeil MarshallStarsSean PertweeKevin McKiddEmma CleasbyA routine military exercise turns into a nightmare in the Scottish wilderness.Decently fun time
A unique spin on werewolf films, where they are just savages. Nothing more, nothing less. The movie has a subtle humor to it that was pleasant, but not outright hilarious. The film has great action and is still enjoyable even today. The use of practical effects, werewolf design and gore, facilitate this. That being said, I didn’t love the film. While I appreciate it and found it fun at moments, it is not one that I am gravitating to. Certainly good, but left a little more to be desired. A lot of what occurs is predictable, the backstabbing Captain and the loan girl is actually a werewolf too and they’re all a family. Sometimes I don’t mind predictability but in this instance I did.
Overall, I’d recommend it and I’d watch it again under the right circumstances. - DirectorDanny PhilippouMichael PhilippouStarsAri McCarthyHamish PhillipsKit Erhart-BruceWhen a group of friends discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, they become hooked on the new thrill, until one of them goes too far and unleashes terrifying supernatural forces.Pretty good film overall. Not very scary, but the body horror and effects are shocking. Great tension as well. No jumpscares really. I like the themes of drug abuse and addictions to social media and our phones. Acting and atmosphere are great and the film keeps your attention. My gripes with the film though, how does a woman scream at the top of her lungs and wheel out a severely wounded child and not get caught by hospital staff or security. In addition, how are the kids able to evade the embalmed hand from the cops? Surely the severely wounded child would have warranted investigation that would have led to the hand being found? Aside from that, I love the mysterious nature of the hand.
If the horror was better this would have been rated higher. Def worth a watch and I’d recommend - DirectorDavid F. SandbergStarsZachary LeviAsher AngelJack Dylan GrazerThe film continues the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word "SHAZAM!" is transformed into his adult Super Hero alter ego, Shazam.Good fun
It is nice when a movie doesn’t take itself too seriously. Sure there are themes of taking ownership and responsibility for your actions, finding your self-worth, and standing up for what is right despite the cost, but the overplayed themes of superhero films, take a backseat in this film. The movie is similar to many marvel films in that it relies heavily on humor, but in this case i think it works. The story and character arcs are pretty by the books, but it fits well into the category of film that’s good enough to put on in the background or sit down and watch.
I wouldn’t recommend it, but I’d watch it again - DirectorNicholaus GoossenStarsAllen CovertLinda CardelliniShirley JonesA thirty-five-year-old video game tester has to move in with his grandma and her two old lady roommates.Poor writing/directing saved by hilarious acting/casting
The story is pretty below average. Waiting until there was 10 min left to have the most tension in the story was a bad decision as it made the final 15 minutes unrewarding and predictable. That being said, the films acting and comedy save it. Many characters dominate their opportunities and steal the spotlight. If you were just focusing on a film that makes you laugh, this is a great film. Poor writing and direction held back what is otherwise a hilarious film.
I would watch again and I’d recommend to people who would like this style - DirectorKevin GreutertStarsTobin BellShawnee SmithSynnøve Macody LundA sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable.Strong film
It’s been a while since I could say a saw film was pretty good. Great traps surely have been sprinkled through, but Saw 4-9 were either decent or below average. This film, in addition to a couple cool traps, had a good story. Themes of redemption and repercussions for one’s decisions. The constant twist and turns were a bit predictable but more often than not we’re satisfying. Plenty of good tongue and cheek moments and wholesome moments were hit or miss for me. Plenty of good tension and gore.
Would definitely watch again and recommend. - DirectorWes CravenStarsNeve CampbellCourteney CoxDavid ArquetteA year after the murder of her mother, a teenage girl is terrorized by a masked killer who targets her and her friends by using scary movies as part of a deadly game.Classic tongue in cheek slasher
A great blend of slasher and comedy. The character design is iconic and the meta commentary on the genre was much needed for the time and is still fun to watch till this day. Great performances from the villains and many memorable scenes that cement this film in horror and film history.
Would watch again and recommend - DirectorWes CravenStarsNeve CampbellCourteney CoxDavid ArquetteTwo years after the first series of murders, as Sidney acclimates to college life, someone donning the Ghostface costume begins a new string of killings.Decent slasher
Another run through of this film and I find myself feeling the same. The higher body count doesn’t make up for the long run time and lame reveal of who the killers were. How the fuck does no one realize that the new reporter was actually Billy’s mom? You’d think Gale would have known after writing a damn book about her son. While the jumpscares were good, the story/media influence subtext is only okay and the killer motives are below average. The acting nor directing isn’t impressive and by the end of the film, I’m left neither satisfied or disappointed. Just a feeling of that was decent film with many holes.
Would watch again during a scream binge, not recommend - DirectorMatt Bettinelli-OlpinTyler GillettStarsSamara WeavingAdam BrodyMark O'BrienA bride's wedding night takes a sinister turn when her eccentric new in-laws force her to take part in a terrifying game.Great film
The idea is perfectly executed with great comedy/action, and horror. The story is original, the acting and casting is great, and I love the ending. Themes of family and marriage are surface level but not peachy. An instant classic.
Favorite scene: everyone blowing up
Highly recommend and would watch again - DirectorJohn CarpenterStarsAdrienne BarbeauJamie Lee CurtisJanet LeighAn unearthly fog rolls into a small coastal town exactly 100 years after a ship mysteriously sank in its waters.Fun 80s horror/slasher
The atmosphere is pretty solid and I enjoy the story of vengeful spirits coming back to haunt a town that is celebrating a town founded on salvaging and looting. At what point though can you really rectify the past? Themes aside some good jumpscares and good practical effects (at times). The fog could be comically bad at times, but this film is 43 years old. Some acting was solid, some comically bad. At the end of the movie, I left entertained.
Would watch again and recommend - DirectorWes CravenStarsDavid ArquetteNeve CampbellCourteney CoxWhile Sidney and her friends visit the Hollywood set of Stab 3, the third film based on the Woodsboro murders, another Ghostface killer rises to terrorize them.Okay movie with a lot of problems
The film has fun moments. The themes of sexual exploitation in Hollywood aren’t explored to the fullest but could have been a good story point. The twists I don’t find to be that exciting and the movie lacks in jumpscares and fun. The direction was okay, but thankfully consistent with most scream films. Too much of this ghost face comes down to perfect planning (like jigsaw in saw perfect). Making it harder to suspend my disbelief. Why would Roman use his same voice when fucking with a victim? How did the security guard not see the blonde chicks car right next to the entrance? How did Ghostface actually find Sidney when detectives didn’t even know where she was? The movie has too many plot holes/conveniences that take away from an enjoyable experience.
Only would watch during a scream binge, would not recommend - DirectorMatt Bettinelli-OlpinTyler GillettStarsNeve CampbellCourteney CoxDavid Arquette25 years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, Calif., a new killer dons the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town's deadly past.Weak film
Another scream film where you get exactly what you’re expecting. The premise is getting old at this point and there’s only so many ways to reinvent the wheel. While I do appreciate the commentary on legacy films, I just didn’t enjoy the film. The Jumpscares are very middle of the road. It’s not a fun movie and to believe that the girl could outmuscle and kill people is laughable. The acting from the lead was weak, while Jenna Ortega killed it. Dewey’s death was very underwhelming and Courtney Cox looked unpleasant. Neve gave a very uninspiring performance. The movie recycles the same tropes and while it’s sometimes fun, it’s dull at this point. Killer was telegraphed too early. The hospital scene is a joke
Wouldn’t watch it again or recommend it. - DirectorWes CravenStarsNeve CampbellCourteney CoxDavid ArquetteTen years have passed, and Sidney Prescott, who has put herself back together thanks in part to her writing, is visited by the Ghostface Killer.Good time
The fourth film is nothing new, but I thought the family ties killer motivation compared to part 3 with Roman were better. You can tell this film was Wes Craven compared to Part 5 because it still has his charm on the film. Some fun jump scares and some fun twist and turns. Acting was mostly good though emma roberts was either solid or bad.
I would watch as part of a scream binge, wouldn’t recommend - DirectorKeenen Ivory WayansStarsAnna FarisJon AbrahamsMarlon WayansA year after disposing of the body of a man they accidentally killed, a group of dumb teenagers are stalked by a bumbling serial killer.Great dumb fun
The story while being a parody offers a twist that truly was hilarious and caught me off guard. There’s a surprising amount of detail and jokes consistently hit, even if it is often low brow. The acting is pretty solid too for a movie that isn’t taking itself seriously and perfectly rips classic horror films glaring plot holes. It is incredibly rewatchable.
Would watch again and recommend - DirectorKenneth BranaghStarsKenneth BranaghMichelle YeohJamie DornanIn post-World War II Venice, Poirot, now retired and living in his own exile, reluctantly attends a seance. But when one of the guests is murdered, it is up to the former detective to once again uncover the killer.Good who dunnit
First and foremost, this film is visually stunning. From the setting to the camera decisions I was captivated. The acting generally was pretty good, but Tina Fey’s casting was a miss. The story does a good job playing around with who the killer might be with a supernatural component. When the ending came, however, the big reveal was not a resounding hit, it was more of a whimper. Perhaps, on subsequent viewings I will find this movie more favorably. But for now it’s a 6.
Would watch again and recommend - DirectorMatt Bettinelli-OlpinTyler GillettStarsCourteney CoxMelissa BarreraJenna OrtegaIn the next installment, the survivors of the Ghostface killings leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter in New York City.Fun film, heavily flawed
Finally, a new and refreshing opening sequence. Well orchestrated and fun. Kirby being alive was nice. It was fun until the end. I just find it highly implausible that the two main final girls could remotely take on 3 people. Chad and Mindy shouldn’t be alive. Definitely not a bad movie but it’s hard to suspend my disbelief. Plot hole, how did Sam not recognize richie’s family. If they had dated for any reasonable amount of time she would have recognized them.
Update: this film actually has horrendous writing and falls apart the more you think about it. - DirectorJ. Lee ThompsonStarsMelissa Sue AndersonGlenn FordLawrence DaneAt the snobby Crawford Academy, Virginia's group of friends start to go missing years after horrible events that happened to her as a child around her birthday.Pretty good slasher/whodunnit
The movie caught me by surprise. The ending was poetically tragic and the killer reveal took a turn I wasn’t expecting and I actually liked it. The kills were fun, some memorable (like the kebab). The weight lifting one was pretty stupid. I wouldn’t say I really enjoyed the characters but their dyanmics were believable. Acting was good, no one was over the top bad by any means. This movie was definitely ahead of it’s time.
Would watch again and recommend - DirectorSergio StivalettiStarsRobert HosseinRomina MondelloRiccardo Serventi LonghiIn 1900 Paris, a couple is murdered by a masked man, with a young girl as the only survivor. Twelve years later, a wax museum opens in Rome, attracting people and causing a series of disappearances.Bad movie, hot woman
Romina makes an otherwise bad movie enjoyable. Not for her acting though, all looks. The movie focuses too heavily on special effects and while it is visually good, they don’t put much effort into the actual story. - DirectorJoel SchumacherStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerGeorge ClooneyChris O'DonnellBatman and Robin try to keep their relationship together even as they must stop Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy from freezing Gotham City.Bad film, fun to watch tho
It truly lives up to its IMDB rating. I did find enjoyment shutting my brain off as a bad team up of Poison Ivy and Freeze plot together to take over the world (which how is Poison Ivy going to thrive in a frozen world?) A lot of the film doesn’t really make any sense and is just stupid. The hockey players, the Coolio set piece…straight bad. Poison Ivy’s acting was all around was trash. Flabbergasting too when Uma is good, but this was a similar problem I had with Carrey as The Riddler. Too over the top. Mr. Freeze was mostly bad, but I always liked his story so he has a slight pass. Noticeably bad product placement. Cinematography and set design make it look to cartoonish. Very campy one liners that were almost always bad.
I’d not watch it again but I’d recommend others to watch it to see a legitimately bad film. - DirectorNahnatchka KhanStarsKiernan ShipkaOlivia HoltCharlie GillespieWhen the infamous "Sweet Sixteen Killer" returns 35 years after his first murder spree to claim another victim, 17-year-old Jamie accidentally travels back in time to 1987, determined to stop the killer before he can start.Fun time travel slasher
The mix of time traveling and slasher was done sufficiently. The way that time travel is explained is simple enough and there are no contradictions there. The acting was decent enough, many characters are just single-note but they were amusing. The story line is good. Kills were not spectacular and the reveal was okay. Not a let down but not a shocking revelation. One of the killers was telegraphed.
Would watch again, would recommend if someone was interested in seeing it - DirectorJohn LasseterJoe RanftStarsOwen WilsonBonnie HuntPaul NewmanOn the way to the biggest race of his life, a hotshot rookie race car gets stranded in a rundown town and learns that winning isn't everything in life.Classic Pixar
It’s hard not to sound silly saying it, but Cars is an iconic movie. Memorable catchphrases, characters, and scenes are littered throughout this movie. The narrative conceit of lightning McQueen growing from a lonely, but selfish hot shot to being a selfless, thoughtful person is timeless. It’s not a perfect movie, but visually was impressive for the time and holds up to this date.
Would absolutely watch again and recommend - DirectorJohn LasseterBradford LewisStarsOwen WilsonLarry the Cable GuyMichael CaineStar race car Lightning McQueen and his pal Mater head overseas to compete in the World Grand Prix race. But the road to the championship becomes rocky as Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage.Ambitious, but lacks charm. An Okay follow-up
This film lacks the charm of the first film, but ambitiously tries to keep the racing element and mix it with an international spy thriller. The movie has fewer laughs and fewer memorable moments. The animation and direction is good. Voice acting is a step down, Owen Wilson sounds like he’s phoning it in. The Mater-centric film has a great arc for him. His hick behavior not accepted in society grows to a point where he was able to balance his behavior and save the day. Unfortunately, this film will never be a must watch for Pixar.
Not a must watch, would recommend it should you be a Pixar fanboy - DirectorMartin CampbellStarsPierce BrosnanSean BeanIzabella ScorupcoYears after a friend and fellow 00 agent is killed on a joint mission, a secret space based weapons program known as "GoldenEye" is stolen. James Bond is assigned to stop a Russian crime syndicate from using the weapon.Pretty good spy thriller
The stunt work is practical and solid. Bond is depicted as I always envisioned. Witty, suave and tactical. Set pieces, particularly the tank scene are over the top but entertaining and well executed. I like the balance in villain motivations, one is bloodthirsty while the other wants to get revenge on the country that betrayed him. 006 and M challenging, Bond’s character and willingness to adjust to the present is an interesting arc and important in a meta sense when considering at the time, Bond was considered dated. The one-liners were solid and the final battle between 006 and Bond is great and comes to a satisfying end. All in all, it’s a pretty good film and I’d rank Bronson above Craig.
Would watch again and recommend - DirectorRomano ScavoliniStarsBaird StaffordSharon SmithC.J. CookeA mental patient embarks on a murder spree upon escaping from an institution.Bad film
Some shots are so dark it’s nearly impossible to see what’s going on. The acting is bad all around. The practical effects are good though and mutilated corpses look gruesome. The film does succeed in generating some unsettling scenes, but not nearly enough. The music is really bad. Completely stealing away from what could have been tense and climatic moments. The film for the most part was pretty boring and the plot is thin at best. The twist at the end was okay at best, but doesn’t save the film by any means.
Wouldn’t watch again or recommend - DirectorBrian FeeStarsOwen WilsonCristela AlonzoChris CooperLightning McQueen sets out to prove to a new generation of racers that he's still the best race car in the world.Good ending
What the films lacks in laugh, it makes up for in a satisfying end to Lightning’s story. Lightning struggling to come to terms with his place in racing and doing everything he can to hold on is relatable. His humility and selfless when he hands over the reigns to Cruz reminds us why Lightning McQueen is a household name. The animation, in typical Pixar fashion, is stunning again. I appreciate the villain is really time and aging, with Storm and Sterling being minor villains. The ending is a bit cheesy with the inexperienced Cruz winning a race and it’s a shame that the film couldn’t deliver any iconic moments.
Would watch during a cars binge, wouldn’t recommend - DirectorJay RoachStarsBen StillerRobert De NiroTeri PoloMale nurse Greg Focker meets his girlfriend's parents before proposing, but her suspicious father is every date's worst nightmare.Classic comedy
A hilarious battle between a man who can’t stop lying and a hard nosed man who can’t let his daughter go. My biggest gripe is how often I found myself thinking Focker was just an idiot, but then again, the movie takes its liberties. Unrelated to Focker, he gets fucked by CIA op specializing in psychology/lying, didn’t put two-and-two together that the bowl was his sons, not Focker’s. There is no way they wouldn’t have been able to tell the cat Focker brought home wasn’t their actual cat. I can give it a pass though as I could believe they rushed out of the house. I appreciate the arc the characters go on throughout the movie, Focker with honesty and De Niro with acceptance. The film perfectly executes a cause and effect, snowball storytelling that makes several moments hit simply by having the well-intentioned Focker consistently make the wrong decisions at the wrong time. The acting and casting is really good.

The sequel to the classic meet the parents is good. While I did not laugh as much this time around, it was still funny more often than not. The story continues the narrative arc of Jack not trusting Focker which adds some layers but is a bit redundant. The addition of the Fockers is okay, they don’t ruin the movie but they weren’t my favorite. Easy movie to watch though.

It’s fun to go on this journey again but this film does little to reinvent the league. Laughs continue to decline compared to previous installments, but there still are some good ones. My biggest gripe really is that the three films are essentially the same. The first one remains the best.

The acting and casting is pretty solid, and the characters are likeable. The movie suffers from one too many plot holes that makes it difficult to suspend my disbelief. All you have to do is go to goofs on IMDB and see the laundry list of problems. Moreso, than a typical movie. However, the movie has really good tension and has an ending I personally liked. The music from this film is memorable and great. I appreciate the films themes regarding the duality of human nature, though you know that Peele’s main message is really about oppression.

All the characters are likeable and the casting of Mysterio is great. The film has a great pace. It is also funny and exciting. Narratively, the film is really about Peter growing up or being told he needs to grow up while he also is dealing with normal problems his age regarding the navigation of love. Another great installment in the MCU.

The multiverse was perfected in this movie and the nostalgia bait of Maguire and Garfield, and others from alternate spidey verses were handled with care. Plenty of funny moments sprinkled in with fun action. The few faults of the movie I will give a pass to due to Covid restrictions. The sacrifice at the end is what a hero does and the emotional beats from the moment Spidey makes the decision to him moving into a rough apartment are perfectly paced and acted. A fitting end to spiderman finally growing up.

The production quality was good for the budget. The puzzle solving component was thrilling more often than not. However, the films structure leaves a lot to be desired, non-stop fast set pieces left no room for fleshing out characters or story which I think hurt the ending. Would have been nice to remove a set-piece to develop the characters. No one’s particularly likeable or notable. Some components to the movie were a bit far fetched, particularly how they were able to coordinate all the participants getting on the same subway cart at the same time with no random people getting on. The plot was pretty straight forward with no deeper meaning.

The main theme of the film is epic and memorable. Narratively the film is excellent, hiccup, his father, and Astrid all have pleasing character/relationship arcs. The writing simply is really strong. The animation is pretty solid. I love the Scottish accents, but it is amusing that none of the kids have one. My only gripe is with the voice acting, some characters VA I didn’t like but it didn’t ruin the movie. Nice though that the film showed real stakes/consequences with hiccup losing his lower leg in the end (which was fitting since toothless lost part of his tail).

It’s a classic film. Many of the films jokes land and the dynamic of Martin and Candy is great. Many iconic scenes from Martin’s meltdown with the rental car lady to Martin and Candy looking back at their car on fire. Emotional moments like Candy’s rebuttal to Martin with the “I like me” speech or Candy revealing his Thanksgiving situation hit perfectly and are touching. It’s a fun, simple story about the relationship between two opposites that form a bond on Thanksgiving with the classic road trip hi jinx set up.

The movie is decently funny and the pacing works. The cgi is mostly good. I liked photon. With so many characters it’s tough to flesh out the character arcs and it has more or less the same themes we have seen from many superhero movies, your actions have consequences. The villain was fine but nothing special. It definitely ends on a strong note nods that the X-men are coming into the MCU. However, I’d be hard pressed that anyone is excited for the young avengers.

The premise is good but poorly executed. A murder mystery could have made this slightly better. This film is often cheesy. Also leans heavy into an indie soundtrack. The acting from the lead is atrocious and no one stands out. None of the characters are likable or interesting, most characters are one-beat or completely void of any personality. Nick and Annie are the only fleshed out characters. The ending is absolutely ridiculous. There’s no reason she needed to crawl in the hospital bed to save him and made for an uncomfortable redemption arc. Also, the cops drop the ball on calling the dam, why wait until you arrive? The logic the supposed best friend has is astoundingly bad, even for a movie. You know you didn’t “rat” on the girl, so why lie that your best friend did it? Then after things escalate why wouldn’t you go to the police? You didn’t kill him and you should be able to reasonably plea that you had to help against your will after you show them where the body is.

Pretty good film with solid acting and casting. It’s funny when it wants to be and quite an emotionally powerful ride. The old guys steal the show when they are on the screen. The relationship between the main character and Seth Roger is perhaps the best one and the film generally does a good job of showing how loved ones change after a cancer diagnosis. While I appreciate the idea that the main character would have a “good girl” at the end, I don’t like that it was Anna Kendrick. I think it was an unnecessary ending that didn’t feel fitting based on what we know about her as a character.

The movie as a whole is fun. The animation is once again brilliant. The voice acting is decent but the villain and Craig Ferguson steal the show. I like the character arc of Stoic. Hiccups arc continues as he discovers his identity and becomes a leader. Unfortunately, the writing is part of the problem too. The second half of the movie felt rushed. The climatic moments or “epic” scenes didn’t hit.

A great way to conclude the trip loft with satisfying endings for both Hiccup and Toothless. Themes of identity, friendship, and selflessness are depicted well. The film is quite charming. The animation is once again great and the pacing was still a bit off. The villain was a bit of a let down. Hiccups romance with Astrid could have used more development. The film is definitely polarizing depending on how you view these films. I see them as simply good entertainment and thought they did a great job with mixing fun and emotional beats. However, I could see diehard fans being disappointed or loathing this movie.

Michelle was bad acting and casting. The ending was bad, a one minute countdown lasted nearly 3 min and Michelle lasted for 2 holding her breath underwater (though had to be revived by Bond). There was still charm to the film with the familiar motifs of a Bond movie and Bond had a couple good lines. Good practical effects and stunts. The plot was forgettable though, however, it is saved slightly by a villain with an interesting motive and goal. The films feels absent of any deeper meaning, but the film doesn’t seem to care. I thought the acting and casting was great. Ii actually thought every character was written out pretty decently. You knew enough about them to understand who they were as people. Which is nice compared to how surface level movies can be with anyone who is not the main character. It’s a fun slasher with an interesting premise. Themes of aging and changing provide a more unique motivation for the killers and is slightly heartfelt. The kills as they unfold are all pretty believable which is nice given who the killers are. The film is tense and sometimes this paid off with an effective scare. I didn’t like a couple decisions that were made by characters but that’s my only criticism.

The film is okay, but can be heavily appreciated for jumpstarting an iconic character, theme, and title screen. Sean Connery is good as Bond, he was oozing with swagger. The cinematography is a strong part of the film. The story is probably the weakest part though. The Bond girl, for example, is not a well thought out character and brought in too late. The pacing is bad and jams much of the action in in the latter portion of the film. All in all, the film was the launch point of the James Bond film franchise fandom and formula. It’s an okay film that is carried by the legacy it started.

The film was a bit boring at times and slow. Despite this, the film was a noticeable improvement over Dr. No. The film had more action than the previous installment and had a strong climax. The train fight scene and tension is fantastic. The plot builds upon the weaker Dr. No and the villains were solid, particularly Robert Shaw as Grant. The Bond girl was attractive, though it was amusing how quickly she fell head over heels for Bond.

The acting by Farrell and Whitaker is solid. The story is solid and focuses on Darrell’s moral redemption. A phone booth being the only setting of the film, relies on the Farrell and Sutherland and their dialogue to escalate the tension for the most part works. I think the writing was pretty good but the directing was only. For example, the opening and closing shots of the film felt entirely out of place. The use of split screen was unattractive. To be fair, the writing isn’t perfect though. The depth they attempt to give Whittaker’s character was unnecessary and could have been utilized better. All in all, it’s a well-paced movie with great performances and plenty of tension.

Of the first 3 Connery bond films, this is my favorite. The pacing is good, the set pieces are entertaining, the tongue-in-cheek one-liners land, and there are many memorable scenes and characters. The henchman crushing a golf ball with his bare hand and Goldfinger being sucked out of a plane were comical despite how inaccurate they were. This film easily did all the Bond tropes we know at its best and it’s easy to see the legacy the film has. Though, the Pussy Galore/Bond fight and fuck scene was off putting.

The villain’s look and acting is badass. I think the Bond girls are good looking and there are some good set pieces. The action is solid as usual. The film has some nice cinematography and has some cool ideas. The execution of some of these ideas simply don’t look good, whether it be aircraft’s that swallow others or Bond “becoming Japanese”. The pacing is off throughout the movie and the whole “James Bond’s dead” fake out was unnecessary to the plot. Many things and events don’t make sense. The writing is some of its weakest in the Connery films. Neither Bond girl had much to do. Across the board, the acting was mediocre.

First blood is a fantastic movie. Stallone’s acting is great and portrays beautiful a ptsd suffering war vet in a world that turned his back on him when he returned home from the Vietnam war. A truly peculiar film. The sound design is notably strong and sets the tone. Lynch takes advantage of shooting in black and white to add to the tension. The acting and direction is good with plenty of symbolism and subtext for those who love to scour every inch of the screen for meaning. The plot is good, a man struggles to come to terms with parenting a mutant baby while fantasizing about his neighbor. The film experiments with the simple plot and it inconsistently balances slow scenes, fine scenes, and the memorable scenes. I found myself bored at times and then captivated. Alternating between the two. While the film isn’t pretentious, I’d argue it’s a bit dragged out. Most of the costumes, effects, and makeup is good, but I didn’t like the girl in the radiators appearance. Wasn’t unsettling, just looked bad. At the end of the day it was an original and unique experience, that wasn’t enjoyable per se but memorable.

The opening is incredibly thrilling and awesome. The dramatic beats of the movie are good as the previous installment was too heavy on action. Electra King is solid. The plot is a bit more complex than it gets credit for and the villain had a cool concept, being unable to feel pain, that was unfortunately under utilized. Bond in this film is still a suave one-liner quipping stud, but the plot gives time to explore his darker side. The skiing set-piece is a bit silly. Around the midway point of the film, the pacing gets slow. Similar to my feelings regarding Michelle’s performance in the last Bond flick, Denise Richards is a brutal miscast and gives a bad performance. The ending is altogether underwhelming.

The acting and casting was hit and miss. Jim Carrey was a let down, Chloe was good. The film was occasionally funny and some action set pieces were good. I wasn’t shown this film as a child and so I don’t have childhood nostalgia to skew my lense on this film. The film did a decent enough job making me laugh. Never very hard, but chuckles nevertheless. At its core, it’s a film about a man trying to give his family the best Christmas and a life he always wanted. However, the movie directs your attention at the many jokes it hurls at your screen and that heart could have really made the film hit home had they chosen to show to go that route. Which I wish they did. Maybe I’m looking too much into a comedy but perhaps on subsequent viewings I will laugh more.

Every movie has its audience. Arthouse films captivate some and turn off others. Eggers films have always been well shot and the cinematography and sounds are great in this film. The performances and casting are strong too. The film is claustrophobic and has an interesting blend of comedy, drama, and psychological horror that makes it impossible to put in a box. The plot is relatively simple, but it’s interpreting the film that is complex. With many questions left unanswered, it can really be whatever film you want it to be. The moment the script takes you into that doubt of reality, I was captivated. But unfortunately, that feeling was fleeting. The film has some tension, but I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t at times get boring. I also wouldn’t say that I loved this movie. It’s a great experience where I want to discuss with others how they felt, but it was one that I didn’t particularly enjoy.

First and foremost the acting is bad. The only exception would be the Mean One but he was only decent. The film is understandably low-budget and looks the part. The film has a more subtle cheesiness to it that at times makes it fun, but it’s not explicitly bad fun like Thankskilling. The kills were mostly unsatisfying, however, one was perfectly comical and gruesome. There’s quite a bit of filler to the film and some of the characters could be removed and it wouldn’t impact the story they’re really just there to increase the body count. The sounds and editing is noticeably bad. Not really going to knock a point for it, but there’s photographic evidence shown during a police investigation that is comically bad (probably was the point). Overall, it’s a bad film that had moments of fun, cringe, and pointlessness.

Kurt Russell is a badass as snake and he is performance is crucial to what makes this film enjoyable. His scowl is off the charts fun. The sound effects compliment an overall cheesy vibe. The premise is interesting and the film overall is very gritty with a couple gnarly deaths. However, I did not love this film. The film lacks punch. Most of the action comes at the end and while it’s good, the film would have benefited from incorporating more action in an exposition heaving first 60 min . While the premise is fun, one can’t help but wonder how silly it is that the audio recording was the only documentation of the nuclear formula? Snakes unfortunately void of any personality and it leaves it up to the side characters to shoulder the weight, and they were mostly unimpressive. The film sometimes looks cool with gritty landscapes and set-pieces, but after awhile it just kinda looked like a dump, with streets scattered with trash. While logically this probably makes the most sense, the movie poster gives off the illusions of pretty imaginative sets. Overall, Kurt Russell is what makes this movie decent. Without him, this movie is mediocre.

Spectre had big shoes to fill and couldn’t live up to bar set by Skyfall. A lot of the film is quite enjoyable, but these elements have weaknesses too. The pacing isn’t particularly good and the set pieces are hit and miss. The relationship with the Bond Girl could have been developed better, though she is beautiful. While the Craig bond films are unique in that it’s one giant overarching story, the film doesn’t do a satisfying job tying together the previous 3 films. The villain at times was cool, but his endgame is unclear and he was not developed well.

Visually the film looks great as per usual. The mask of the villain and the weapon is intriguing, but the villains performance was a bit weak. To get to an ending, which for Craig’s arc is both fitting and beautiful, you have to go through a lot of filler. I think the film gets a bit of unfair criticism for having a new 007 who is a black woman when the reality, within the context of the film, was she took over simply the agent number since Bond had been away for 5 years and by no means was being propped up to replace Bond in subsequent films. The women are beautiful once again and while that does not necessarily boost it on my assessment of the film, it is an added bonus. I do find myself reflecting on the gritty James Bond we watched for five films and am happy that maybe we will get a return to the James Bond we know and love. I don’t think I’d watch this again. I’d rather stop at Skyfall if I watch these films, but it was good and satisfying conclusion to the Daniel Craig Bond films.

Wes Anderson typically delivers stunning movies and he does it again. His comedy on the other hand, is hit and miss. It’s a particular sense of humor that you either have or don’t. However, this movie has tremendous heart. Three distant brothers dealing with grief and loss by going on a spiritual journey starts and ends strong. The brotherhood they share makes the film. Rushmore is a decent film. The pacing is good and performances were strong. During the film, I found the main character to be annoying and hard to relate to. As well as he at times was downright obsessive, manipulative, and disturbing. If they made him appear more human and less problematic, it would have made his redemption much better. It was after the film ended that I felt it all come together, all these characters are coming to terms with grief and loss, and it’s reflected through people at various points in their life. The ending is satisfying when you look at it through this lense. Aside from my gripes with the main character, most of the humor is too deadpan for my enjoyment. That style of humor is better suited in smaller doses or constrained to one character than what the film offered.

The editing is notably good and compliments the pace and story telling of the movie. Particularly, that nobody is unhappy with the life he has and the routine he has found himself in. While they tell this in a compelling way and it is incredibly relatable, the film strikes me as slightly unoriginal, capitalizing on the John Wick popularity with the premise of “what if John Wick still had a family and was motivated to return to a former assassin career because he’s bored.” The plot is thin and the movie could be chalked up to man rediscovers his identity. Aside from this, the film is very entertaining. The director is quite clever and the action is well choreographed. I’d watch this over some of the John Wick films. it’s similar to some installments of John Wick, it doesn’t take itself too seriously as is often humorous and perfectly over the top. Villains are a joke so you might feel this movie has no stakes, but at the end of the day you get to watch a bunch of creative action sequences and hordes of henchman get taken down.

Fun in some ways with a lot of heart. Themes of family run rampant and it’s very well-intentioned. The film is very by the books for a superhero movie. The main character is a bit underdeveloped and doesn’t have a strong family arc, a family oriented man becomes more family oriented. In fact, it’s mildly amusing that his whole mantra is “don’t kill” when his grandma straight murders several guards. Also, doesn’t sit right with me how easily a supposed military weapon organization was stolen from. The explanation in the movie is barely acceptable. All-in-all, it is better than some superhero movies just late to the game.

The film has a classic hero’s journey with a man who struggles to accept his identity and I do like to an extent the sec Timothee had. However, part 1 is almost entirely laying the foundation for part 2 and ends rather abruptly (and in a bit too cliche of a manner). This film might be comparable to a chore if part 2 is fantastic because this film at times is very slow. Many shots go on for a long time and sometimes it’s effective and other times it drags. I wouldn’t say I gravitated to any characters which hurt my experience particularly in a sci-fi epic like this.
On the fence if I’d watch it again or recommend - DirectorWes AndersonStarsJason SchwartzmanScarlett JohanssonTom HanksFollowing a writer on his world famous fictional play about a grieving father who travels with his tech-obsessed family to small rural Asteroid City to compete in a junior stargazing event, only to have his world view disrupted forever.A star studded cast couldn’t save this film
The film is visually stunning and the shit choices are top notch. The bewilderment of the alien appearance is probably the best scene in the film. The acting is good, but the decision to give every character a dry personality really hurts the film. The film is not remotely funny, aside from one scene from one of the child actors. The plot is probably the weakest of Andersons filmography, the underlying themes don’t hook you in, nor does the meta nature of the film. This film likely needs multiple viewings to appreciate, but with the impression this from left, I doubt it will get one from many viewers.
Wouldn’t watch again or recommend - DirectorWes AndersonStarsBryan CranstonKoyu RankinEdward NortonSet in Japan, Isle of Dogs follows a boy's odyssey in search of his lost dog.Great film
The stop-motion animation is appealing to the eye. The theme is catchy and compliments the film, unlike say Asteroid City where the theme is rather obnoxious. The voice acting varies which is nice, every character isn’t dry which allows the dry humor to land better. To top it, while the story is simple it is intriguing. There are characters you genuinely care about and the character arcs of Chief and Spots. A very well-written, well-shot, well-voice acted film.
Would watch again and recommend - DirectorPark Chan-wookStarsChoi Min-sikYoo Ji-taeKang Hye-jeongAfter being kidnapped and imprisoned for fifteen years, Oh Dae-Su is released, only to find that he must track down his captor in five days.Amazing film
Wow. Oldboy is a film that is masterfully shot with tremendous thought for tension and plot building. Never have I rooted for a character so much who, he himself, acknowledged he was not a good person, only to uncover horrible truths. This is one of the best revenge films I have ever seen and the twist was truly shocking and magnificently done.
Absolutely watch again and recommend - DirectorLuca GuadagninoStarsTimothée ChalametTaylor RussellMark RylanceA young woman embarks on a 1000 mile odyssey through America where she meets a disenfranchised drifter. But all roads lead back to their terrifying pasts and to a final stand that will determine whether love can survive their otherness.Mediocre film
Sully steals the show, shame he wasn’t in the story more. Visually the film is fine. The movies about outsiders, being alone, and finding connection and I think it does a good enough job conveying this. Unfortunately, I found the film to be unenjoyable. Maybe it’s due to, how they never had to deal with the police, or the lack of charisma and chemistry between the leads (and it fails to be a satisfying “love story” as it hopes to be), or the fact that it’s rather boring. The film felt like a waste of time

- DirectorEmerald FennellStarsBarry KeoghanJacob ElordiRosamund PikeA student at Oxford University finds himself drawn into the world of a charming and aristocratic classmate, who invites him to his eccentric family's sprawling estate for a summer never to be forgotten.Strange film
I’ll give credit where credit is due, the film is memorable and isn’t boring. The performances from many are strong. The story is interesting. The underlying story is really about a middle class man’s obsession for wealth (not love) and the lengths he’d go to get it. However, the execution wasn’t good. I like that the main character turns out to not be a reliable narrator, but the film is predictable. Broadcasting the story much earlier than it probably intended with little to practically no subtlety. The films memorable moments are really just gross-out moments that get you talking, nothing that would scream good cinema. It was also incredibly tough to suspend my disbelief that the family wouldn’t remove the lead immediately following Felix’s death, considering they were “best friends”. can’t decide if the film is pretentious.
I would recommend based on the absurdity of the gross out moments, 50/50 whether I’d watch it again - DirectorJames MangoldStarsHugh JackmanWill Yun LeeTao OkamotoWolverine comes to Japan to meet an old friend whose life he saved years ago, and gets embroiled in a conspiracy involving yakuza and mutants.Entertaining but flawed
The film has great set pieces and action. Hugh Jackman is great once again. The film is huge step up from X-men origins. The story is, at one point, actually really solid, Wolverine experiences difficulties with mortality, something that previously was unknown. Unfortunately, the film doesn’t really hammer this home opting to abandon that plot line. The Jean Grey attempting to convince him to kill himself plot-line wasn’t believable and could have been fixed by simply having a line emphasizing his desire to die. It is also puzzling that Wolverine even went on this journey in the first place, given how he’s presented to be disinterested in helping in other movies. Some cgi is bad but I chalk it up to the past. The romance subplot was underdeveloped. Ending wasn’t satisfying, despite most of the film being solid.
Wouldn’t recommend it, wouldn’t watch it again - DirectorChris ColumbusStarsLogan LermanKevin McKiddSteve CooganA teenager discovers he's the descendant of a Greek god and sets out on an adventure to settle an on-going battle between the gods.Pinnacle of bad film adaptation
My feelings about this film is biased as I was a fan of the books, perhaps if I hadn’t I’d see the films favorably. However, they completely disrespect the source material, the acting is atrocious, the cg is a joke, and when the movie finally ended I couldn’t have been more thrilled. Joke of a movie from a director of absolute classic films.
Abomination no one should watch - DirectorMario BavaStarsLea LanderGeorge EastmanRiccardo CucciollaFollowing a bungled robbery, three violent criminals take a young woman, a middle-aged man, and a child hostage and force them to drive them outside Rome to help them make a clean escape.Pretty good thriller
An interesting, character driven film that almost entirely takes place in a car. The film maintains tension throughout and ends with a satisfying twist. A couple of performances weren’t good, but Bava does a good job working around them and utilizing the others to make up for it. A pretty good film overall.

JacksonIn order to restore their dying safe haven, the son of Poseidon and his friends embark on a quest to the Sea of Monsters, to find the mythical Golden Fleece, all the while trying to stop an ancient evil from rising.More trash
It’s a bit astounding that they had Annabeth return, they ruined her character and made her useless. The writing is atrocious, the humor misses with few chuckles, the CG is mostly bad, and more often than you’re looking at scream wondering how they botched these movies when the book was right in front of them.
Awful - DirectorKenneth BranaghStarsJude HillLewis McAskieCaitríona BalfeA young boy and his working-class Belfast family experience the tumultuous late 1960s.Pretty good
I liked this movie. I like the way it was shot in black and white and the cinematography shines. The main character is a very good child actor and the performances were all good. The story is strong too and really is about three things, underneath the surface of The Troubles, the importance of family, a boy growing up and losing innocence, and Belfast representing their home and identity. The film interjects humor quite well. I could see those who are more intimately familiar with The Troubles could be turned off by the story, but it is after all told from the perspective of a little boy.
