- DirectorColson BakerMod SunStarsColson BakerMod SunBecky GFollows London Clash, a movie star whose world is turned upside down when he must choose between pursuing his one true love and landing a life-changing, starring role in a major motion picture.I had to pause it in order to reflect what my life choices are were that got me where I ended up watching this shit. I’m not a MGK or a Mod Sun fan of anything they do. I’m tired of seeing white boys take our women away from us and the most egregious factor this movie has to offer is that fact that all of this is made up as a joke so if you think it is bad then that is the whole point. You are meant to be laughing with us not at us. Which I just want to give the biggest middle finger to mainly because of just how unfunny this shit is. This is on the same level as those parody movies by the epic movie and disaster movie guys. It is on that level of god awful cinema that should be buried and never looked at by anyone ever again. But hey these people are not going to go away because they have different outlets besides acting, writing, and directing. Which is fine by me because I at least want to be entertain into watching someone do something different with their career rather than doing the same thing over and over again. But nobody here is doing anything different than how I think they would act in real life. So on that level alone I would never in a million years want to hang out or see anything these dudes or gals do anything in their career. None of them are good actors or even to convey any type of laugh that is made an audience member want to enjoy their work. Honestly everyone is just terrible. I mean I guess MGK is okay in certain things, Becky G music is fire but her acting is on the same level as a bag of sand, Dove Cameron is fire herself but she is just being cast as that one hot girl, don’t even get me started on Mod Sun who never in a million years should be in front or behind the camera, and Megan Fox’s best years are behind her. I know she is having this resonance because people are all of sudden now loving Jennifer’s Body but some of us at the time already loved it when it came out so everyone is late as shot on that train. But she hasn’t done shit since.
1/10 - DirectorElizabeth Allen RosenbaumStarsSofia CarsonNicholas GalitzineChosen JacobsIn spite of their many differences, Cassie, a struggling singer-songwriter, and Luke, a troubled Marine, agree to marry solely for military benefits, but when tragedy strikes, the line between real and pretend begins to blur.So close. But it is not worst than that other movie in my top spot but holy crap it still is pretty bad. And yes this is a racist ass movie. Fuck that dude. And as a Mexican we don’t claim Sofia Carson as one of our own.
1/10 - DirectorSam MacaroniStarsJosh DuhamelAbbie CornishOmar ChaparroA man wakes in a hospital with no memory, and quickly finds himself on the run in a locked down hospital with the Cartel on his tail. He scrambles to find his true identity in the most vicious way.Holy shit. I have seen some shit but holy crap. The moment Fergie’s ex husband walked into a drug ring under a hospital and saw a bunch of naked women with no mask working on cocaine or heroine or whatever with nothing to protect them I was laughing my ass off. That is all you need to know about this movie. Plus what is this slow motion the movie.
And what the fuck is Nick Nolte doing here. Josh yeah, even Abbie cause she hasn’t been getting any work which is a shame because she is great. No one else here is noteworthy and this is just a sad attempt of making anything. I have a fear because I like simple plots. And this is as simple as you can get. Guy gets amnesia and has to fight his way out of a hospital. Seriously that is this plot and a lot of my plots that I think up in my head can be summed up with a sentence or two. And I know for a fact if I ever be given the opportunity to make a movie it would probably end up like this.
2/10 - DirectorDerek DrymonJennifer KluskaStarsAndy SambergSelena GomezKathryn HahnAfter one experiment, Johnny turns into a monster and everyone else becomes human. Now it has to be seen whether they will be able to reverse this experiment.I never overly hate on an animation film but holy crap this finally did it. I found it so incredibly annoying with countless times in the movie I screaming at how stupid these characters are. Also no one in the voice cast is doing as good as a job as they did in the previous installments with the obvious exception. Well actually both Sandler and James didn’t come back for this sequel which good on them. I hated everything about this movie from top to bottom. The characters, the situations they put themselves in, the crappy ending, all of it. Only Selena Gomez can save it because she is fire.
2/10 - DirectorJohn LoganStarsKevin BaconTheo GermaineAnna ChlumskyA group of teenagers at an LGBTQ+ conversion camp endures unsettling psychological techniques while being stalked by a mysterious masked killer.Love the title but holy crap is Blumhouse really dropping the ball lately and what the hell was that GC deer in the beginning. I know this isn’t an expensive movie but damn. At least some of the members of the LGBT are represented respectfully enough. But all of that is surface level compared to what could have actually been done. Damn Peacock has two of the worst movies in my top 5 and I thought Netflix would be covered but to my surprised it is Peacock coming in hot.
2/10 - DirectorDaniel StammStarsJacqueline ByersDebora ZhechevaChristian NavarroA nun prepares to perform an exorcism and comes face to face with a demonic force with mysterious ties to her past.More bottom of the barrel horror that you really better off never watching. This is going to blow past the wind and never be thought of again. And still this film was released wide and had its trailers played every time I went to the theater. Remarkable.
2/10 - DirectorRoland EmmerichStarsHalle BerryPatrick WilsonJohn BradleyA mysterious force knocks the moon from its orbit and sends it hurtling on a collision course toward earth. There is no need for this movie to be two hours and 10 minutes. Like holy crap does this shit just go on and on and on. Just from scene one I was completely out of it not giving this movie a care in the world and every now and then just when I think the movie has something boom it just sucks all the fun out of the room with these boring characters and plot lines that I know exactly how it is going to end.
2/10 - DirectorKeith ThomasStarsZac EfronRyan Kiera ArmstrongSydney LemmonA young girl tries to understand how she mysteriously gained the power to set things on fire with her mind.Zac, do better. You can do so much more. You were so good in Gold earlier this year. This movie has one of the funniest unintentional moments I have seen tho because that shit had me dying. But holy crap is this movie bad and just down right boring. I just wish the best for Zac because he truly needs a better agent or just needs to pick better scripts.
2/10 - DirectorAndrew DominikStarsAna de ArmasLily FisherJulianne NicholsonThe story of American actress Marilyn Monroe, covering her love and professional lives. This is just straight up trash. And I have no problem saying that this version of Marylin Monroe is damaged and very well played by Ana Da Armas but this is just not it chief. She does go through some shit and this look on her life is portrayed as a harrowing outlook on how much she went through. But again this is just a fictionalize version of her based on a book that is also not based on facts. Sure some things in here are true but I have no problem saying I don’t like this version. The whole performance is fine but I hate to say it but this movie made me feel like this. She comes off annoying and just so over the top with her delivery that it comes off wanting me to feel sorry for her when I didn’t give a shit about her to begin with. Yeah this version of Marylin goes through some shit don’t get me wrong. With again this might sound insensitive but I just wanted the movie to stop with the whole feel sorry for me aspect that is hovering over this movie. There are ways you can do this type of character in this tone. Hell look at Andrew Dominik’s 2007 masterpiece The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Yes that film is top 10 of that decade. That is a bleak story centered on troubled men who seem to continue to drag them selves further to the depths of hell of their own choosing. This on the other hand is putting the spotlight on a woman who has no capability of her own life. Which should be a reminder to everyone that Marylin was used by Hollywood. I agree with that assessment. This troublesome young woman being plopped up as only as a sex symbol. Only for this movie to offer that exact same thing. Like I said I have no problem critiquing this version because this ain’t true to who Marylin is so if you are going to offer a fantasy version of Marylin you better make it good. Sadly aside from the performance nothing is there. Everything is surface level with the constant baby voice and daddy talk. Which Marylin very much could have used for her advantage back in Hollywood. But the film never bothers to answer that question or even brings it up. Soft core porn at its finest.
2/10 - DirectorMark WilliamsStarsLiam NeesonAidan QuinnTaylor John SmithTravis Block is a government operative coming to terms with his shadowy past. When he discovers a plot targeting U.S. citizens, Block finds himself in the crosshairs of the FBI director he once helped protect. What the hell is this bullshit. Remember when Liam used to fight in his movies now he doesn’t even stay awake in certain scenes. Damn man this is terrible from all aspects of filmmaking down to even lighting and sound. I usually never focus on that stuff but when it is this bad it really shows. It just goes on and on about this investigation drama instead a race against time action film that it should have been.
2/10 - DirectorJoe BegosStarsRiley DandySam DelichJonah RayIt's Christmas Eve and Tori just wants to get drunk and party, but when a robotic Santa Claus at a nearby toy store goes haywire and begins a rampant killing spree through her small town, she's forced into a battle for survival.I love slasher movies. They are some of my favorite sub genre in the horror, so my surprise is that I’m not impress with this one. I should love and dig this type of movie but it seriously is just lackluster. Plus the call out Blumhouse movies are not actually horror films or even scary. Whatever they say. Which I’m sick and tired of people not understanding that horror can come from the little things and Blumhouse has been constantly delivering gateway horror for new fans. Plus this movie is shit we have seen before and it is just insufferable with its dialogue with every other word being fuck this and that. It got old real fast. Plus the killer Santa thing was better in Violent Night. And I didn’t even like that film that much.
2/10 - DirectorRomuald BoulangerStarsMel GibsonWilliam MoseleyAlia Seror-O'NeillA host takes a call, where an unknown person threatens to kill the showman's entire family on air. To save loved ones, the radio host will have to play a survival game and the only way to win is to find out the identity of the criminal. If only Mel Gibson actually really gave it his all then maybe this would be better. But the movie hinges on his performance and if he is not up to the task then maybe I could abide by most of the movie’s many and I mean many flaws.
- DirectorSimon KinbergStarsJessica ChastainPenélope CruzBingbing FanWhen a top-secret weapon falls into mercenary hands, a wild-card C.I.A. agent joins forces with three international agents on a mission to retrieve it, while staying a step ahead of a mysterious woman who's tracking their every move.Wow if you can’t tell the twist or just the next thing that is going to happen scene for scene then you might have a better time than I had. But you still have to get pass the embarrassing acting from some excellent actors, the terrible action sequences that are just so bad to watch, and of course this story that is never convincing that this can actually happen. Even if you buy into this plot you really can’t take it seriously or enjoyable to find out what is going to happen next. I would rather see the origin of the actual 355 than see this movie ever again.
2/10 - DirectorMatt SobelStarsNaomi WattsCameron CrovettiNicholas CrovettiTwin brothers arrive at their mother's house and begin to suspect that something isn't right. It just barely misses my top 10 because I can’t honestly dislike this movie more than the others. Sadly this is a better made movie for example than Texas Chainsaw and I can see more quality here than that movie. But holy crap is this just the same movie with nothing new to offer and another movie I have seen where child abuse is straight up in your face about it. As a remake it is what you expect at this point. Even if you never seen the original I’m fairly certain you can tell the plot twist coming a mile away. Which even back when I saw the original I kinda knew the twist but that never distracted me from the plot or what was going on. This movie doesn’t offer anything new to distract us. They add in this one new plot thread that goes nowhere but while it was happening I was bored out of my mind. The past two Naomi Watts horror remakes are much better that offer more than their original. I think it is funny as well that they add a cut mark on one of the kids to make sure you know which ones are which. So good job Goodnight Mommy for not making my top 10. But you were close.
2/10 - DirectorCarrie CracknellStarsRichard E. GrantHenry GoldingBen Bailey SmithEight years after Anne Elliot was persuaded not to marry a dashing man of humble origins, they meet again. Will she seize her second chance at true love?Boring. I stuck with it but man it just proves that DJ is not a good actor. Even Crazy Rich Asian couldn’t save this movie.
2/10 - DirectorDavid Blue GarciaStarsSarah YarkinElsie FisherMark BurnhamInfluencers looking to breathe new life into a Texas ghost town encounter Leatherface, an infamous killer who wears a mask of human skin. This movie is only an hour and 13 minutes. Like the actual movie is only that long not including credits. But even tho it is only slightly above an hour long the 4 and an half hour Kanye West doc will probably feel shorter than this movie. The kills are kinda cool but man I honestly have no intention to ever see this movie ever again. The fact that this movie does have some gorgeous shots should say at least that someone on the production team thought this could be a good movie. The most heartbreaking aspect about this movie is how they bring in Sally. The sole survivor and how they treat her is just damn disrespectful. That is probably why I dislike this movie so much compared to others who seem to have an actual following along with attacking people who have legitimate reasons to dislike this movie. Halloween Kills is a way better movie.
2/10 evil chains tonight - DirectorRoel ReinéStarsIko UwaisLewis TanLawrence KaoKai Jin, a young Chinatown chef in present day San Francisco, becomes entangled with the Chinese Triad's pursuit of deadly ancient powers known as the "Wu Xing.Holy crap no one can take this movie seriously. It is laughable how bad this movie is. Which is such a shame because I quite enjoyed the show that this movie is based on. Only because I like how tense it got and it felt pretty well made. Compared to this utter piece of crap it makes the show look like Breaking Bad. The fight scenes are just atrocious with the exception of one fight scene that is done in this one take 360 angle that was pretty impressive. One sex scene and one fight scene are not enough to find this movie enjoyable. Because for a while I was going to rate this movie higher but then I thought about it and said no this movie straight up sucks and I couldn’t wait for it to end.
3/10 - DirectorRobert ZemeckisStarsJoseph Gordon-LevittTom HanksBenjamin Evan AinsworthA puppet is brought to life by a fairy, who assigns him to lead a virtuous life in order to become a real boy.Uhh. It pains me to put this here. Actually no it doesn’t. Pinocchio (1940) is amongst the top 5 Disney Animated films ever. Just so let based on how brutal a kids movie can be about being a good person while also staying true to others. Some things just don’t transfer well into live action. And I don’t mean visually because RJ still can make this hybrid of live action and animation pretty seamless. At least in my eyes. The story of Pinocchio interacting with real people just is absurd to me because this is a world where a talking fox and a cat on its back legs are walking around town and no one is doing shit about it. It is because it has no magical elements that helps the medicine go down smoother. That is why I was excited for the live action Mulan movie because is wasn’t going to be the same story. They took things out to help it fit in the world they were creating. Only for them to add in stuff that ironically doesn’t fit into the story. I have to wait and see what GDT does with his adaptation but it already looks like the right approach.
3/10 - DirectorRoar UthaugStarsIne Marie WilmannKim FalckMads Sjøgård PettersenDeep in the Dovre mountain, something gigantic wakes up after a thousand years in captivity. The creature destroys everything in its path and quickly approaches Oslo.Could have been so much better. Right off the bat I knew this was going to be a shit fest. The bad special effects, the corny dialogue, this never surprising story that is predictable as hell, and these cliche characters that have no desire of being interesting at all. Also this is just Troll. Not Trolls plural. So we only get one troll throughout the whole movie and wow what a lackluster way of saying we only have the budget for one of these fools.
3/10 - DirectorPatrick HughesStarsKevin HartWoody HarrelsonJasmine MathewsThe world's deadliest assassin and New York's biggest screw-up are mistaken for each other at an Airbnb rental.Netflix be covering up this bottom half of my top 10. Funny enough tho none are as bad as these others tho. Because I think some of these have at least some redeeming qualities. Like the one take fight scene I can say is fun and has enough creativity that I can’t be mad at. But this movie ain’t better than most of the run down action comedies out there. People complain about Marvel movies being too CGI and how green screen everything looks l. But at least those you don’t notice and here is the thing are fun. This is not.
3/10 - DirectorNeil MarshallStarsCharlotte KirkJonathan HowardJamie BamberWhen Royal Air Force pilot Lt. Kate Sinclair is shot down over Afghanistan, she finds refuge in an abandoned underground bunker where deadly man-made biological weapons - half human, half alien - are awakened.Dog Soldiers meets The Descent sign me up. O wait never mind it sucks. You have seen all this before and it is just sad seeing Neil Marshall copy two of his best films with this one. Nothing to engage the audience other than you usual shooting and blowing up body parts. So it is as average as you expect with the occasional o shit. But you can tell just how poorly made this is from a directing and writing stand point. The acting also doesn’t make it any better.
3/10 - DirectorChristian TafdrupStarsMorten BurianSidsel Siem KochFedja van HuêtA Danish family visits a Dutch family they met on a holiday. What was supposed to be an idyllic weekend slowly starts unraveling as the Danes try to stay polite in the face of unpleasantness.God I hated this family to the point where all sympathy went out the door. And yeah I was on the other side at the end with that one line. Seriously I thought when all is revealed is when this movie will get better but no it just got more stupid and idiotic. Legit these fools don’t even have guns and yet let’s do what they said. I knew from the beginning what was going on and my gut instinct was right. Coming Home in the Dark last year wasn’t perfect but that made me want to go back and raise my score because that is an immensely more enjoyable thriller in this type. This is just plain ridiculous and not in a good way. I left anger. I know you are supposed to feel uncomfortable but I like that feeling when I’m against my will in certain movies as previous with Coming Home in the Dark or even something this year like X made me feel uncomfortable because I clearly was kept in the dark and scared what was going to come next. This one I knew what was going to happened and hated every minute of it. Plus multiple times this family could have done the right thing and just leave.
3/10 - DirectorOl ParkerStarsGeorge ClooneySean LynchJulia RobertsA divorced couple teams up and travels to Bali to stop their daughter from making the same mistake they think they made 25 years ago.I might be a little harsh but cmon I can’t stand movies like this. Predictable slocklish shit that I can’t bear to stomach down. It was never funny nor charming or anything like that. Plus didn’t Booksmart girl just starred in a Romeo and Juliet adaptation and that whole point of that movie was that people who just meet each other should not be together. All I have to say is y’all hell naw if that was my daughter.
3/10 - DirectorDon HallQui NguyenStarsJake GyllenhaalJaboukie Young-WhiteGabrielle UnionThe legendary Clades are a family of explorers whose differences threaten to topple their latest and most crucial mission.Lucy Lui becoming the villain yeah saw that coming.
3/10 - DirectorDuncan BirminghamStarsRyan HansenMelissa TangTimothy GranaderosTwo couples bond at a housewarming party. The hosts become suspicious when the lingering guests reveal wealth and continue drinking into the night.I just couldn’t get involved with this one no matter how much I tried. For as short as the film is, it never reached a level where I was able to grasp the full scope something like this needed. I needed something to latch on to and this movie sadly doesn’t have much to offer. That’s my problem with the film. What is here for anyone to go holy crap this is a cool concept thriller that goes in unpredictable circumstances. That never happened instead we get a solid 4 performances in a movie that seems to be not interested in anything else but a creepy factor. It does go to some dark places but nothing too shocking to care for. Just more mindless killing with an ounce to say something about the rich but again it falls into the same junction as all the rest of these eat the rich stories are getting themselves into. Just recently Infinity Pool again is doing the same thing but at least that one had some changes and graphic scenery that made the ride worth it.
3/10
