Born and trained in New York City, Julie Carmen began her acting career off-off-Broadway, dancing on Broadway in 'Zoot Suit,' but her film career was launched playing the Puerto Rican mother in John Cassavetes' 'Gloria' opposite Gena Rowlands. Julie studied extensively with Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse, with Uta Hagen at HB Studio and more recently with Patsy Rodenburg and Sara Mornell. Julie joined the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences in the class of 2016. She was inducted into the New Mexico Film and Television Hall of Fame in 2018 for her iconic Southwestern roles in 'Milagro Beanfield War' and Gore Vidal's 'Billy the Kid.' Julie sat on the Board of Directors of IFP/West Film Independent for six years during which time Julie suggested the creation of the John Cassavetes Award, since she just finished acting in Cassavetes' film 'Gloria' and wanted to encourage filmmakers who embraced Cassavetes' experiential style of story telling. Carmen Zapata invited Julie to sit on the Board of Directors of Women in Film for four years as a way to ensure there would always be at least one Latina on the Board.
Julie is extremely grateful to have co-starred in films for John Cassavetes, Michael Mann (I), Robert Redford (I), John Carpenter (I), Nicolas Roeg, William A. Graham, Seth Zvi Rosenfeld, Franc Reyes, Tommy Lee Wallace, Carl Schultz, Dan Petrie, Jr., Michael Olmos, Tom Dolby, Tom Williams and on television for Karen Arthur (I), Betty Thomas (I), David Milch, Paris Barclay, Debbie Allen, Deborah Kampmeier and Quentin Tarantino.
Julie is known for her ageless chameleon qualities, effortlessly shape shifting into extremely diverse roles. She played Angelina Jolie's elegant plantation owner mother, fighting to free their enslaved workers; she's often remembered as sexually-insatiable environmental revolutionary Nina in the HBO series Dream On; John Leguizamo's lesbian freedom-fighting mother; the existential book editor opposite Sam Neill in John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness; but her favorite incarnation was Regine Dandridge in the horror cult classic Fright Night Part Two.
Julie holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and worked for 20 years part-time as a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified yoga therapist. Her great-grandfather, Jose Manuel (Lico) Jiménez, (1851-1917) was a child protege Afro Cuban classical pianist from Trinidad, Cuba who emigrated to Europe to perform in the Jiménez Trio in 200 concerts along with his father and brother. Lico Jiménez is credited for bringing German Lied music back to his home country, Cuba. Julie is executive producing a documentary film called Lico Jiménez the Ebony Liszt.
Julie grew up with her great aunt who played Titania in Max Reinhard's Midsummer Night's Dream in Berlin and her twin sister, Julie's grandmother, an obstetric nurse. Julie's mom is a retired high school Spanish and German teacher and her dad was a prolific poet who worked as a paper salesman. Julie's only brother is a public health physician, epidemiologist and occupational medicine doctor in Manhattan. Her godmother, blacklisted character actress Lily Valenty, introduced Julie to her first agent, Walter Kohner who immediately booked her as female lead in two European films for Filmverlaug in Berlin. Julie stayed in Europe to star in Basque director, Alfonso Ungria's film Africa.
As a teenager, Julie worked as the resident choreographer at INTAR Theater in Manhattan when it was under the artistic direction of Cuban-American Max Ferra, choreographing the plays, 'Yoruba', 'Espetaculo Valle Inclan' and 'The Shoemaker's Prodigious Wife' by Lorca. At age 15 she danced with a friend's transvestite theater company in Sheyla Baykal's Palm Casino Review at the Bouwerie Lane Theater in New York and Gossamer Wings at Theater for a New City on Jane Street in Greenwich Village.
Her most recent films--'Windows on the World' (2017) opposite Edward James Olmos and Ryan Guzman; 'You Can't Say No' (2018), opposite Peter Fonda (I), and 'Dawn Patrol' (2014/III) opposite Scott Eastwood (I)--mark her return to the big screen after taking some family time.
"Because the world is too troubled for any of us to rest, " Julie recently acquired the film rights to produce four films based on books and she directed her third short film, "The Unnecessary Salvation of Mary McDaniel", written by Herman Johansen with music composed by Maria Newman and Scott Hosfeld.Tales of The Walking Dead- Actress

Delivered a fantastic performance of a reformed street 'hitter' on the HBO show 'The Wire' from Series 3 to Series 5 with varied screen time. The character reflected the possibility of reformed criminals into positive characters of society; as with Coleman's character starting a boxing gym for the young children/men to stay off the streets and learn a sport. The Walking Dead- Actor

Denise Michelle Crosby was born on November 24, 1957 in Hollywood, California. Denise graduated from Hollywood High School in 1975 and attended Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz where she enrolled in the Drama Department. Forming part of the extensive Crosby family dynasty, this striking leading actress, daughter of entertainer Dennis Crosby, has appeared in film and television since the early 1980s. A photo spread in a 1979 issue of Playboy magazine and a role in the soap opera Days of Our Lives (1965) in 1980 allowed Denise to break through to stardom. She had a small role in 48 Hrs. (1982), playing the villain's girlfriend, and parts in Trail of the Pink Panther (1982) and Curse of the Pink Panther (1983) (both critically unsuccessful). Her career began to pick up in the mid-1980s. She appeared in a variety of films and made-for-TV movies, including Stark (1985), Malice in Wonderland (1985) (playing Carole Lombard), Desert Hearts (1985), Eliminators (1986) and Miracle Mile (1988).
In 1987, Denise caught her big break playing Lieutenant Tasha Yar in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987). Although not a huge role, the character allowed Denise to build a sizable fan base that exists to this day. In 1988, she left the series due to the diminishing size of her role, but returned as a guest star in the early 1990s. In 1989, she played the mother of a dead toddler who was brought back to life through an ancient curse in Stephen King's somewhat hokey horror novel film adaptation Pet Sematary (1989). Remaining in the horror genre, Denise played a similar role of a mother who discovers her young daughter's doll is evil in the Child's Play (1988) clone Dolly Dearest (1991).
The 1990s brought few opportunities to Denise, but she worked consistently, appearing in a television series in 1993, and made numerous guest appearances, including a couple of episodes of the raunchy cable series Red Shoe Diaries (1992), which were subsequently released on video. There were also roles in Relative Fear (1994), Mutant Species (1994), Dream Man (1995) and Executive Power (1997). More high-profile work arrived in the form of a small role in Jackie Brown (1997), playing a public defender, and a sizable part as a pregnant mother in the hit disaster movie Deep Impact (1998). She gained recognition as a "Star Trek" fan by producing and presenting Trekkies (1997) and its sequel Trekkies 2 (2004).
Since 2000, Denise has appeared on television in guest roles on The X-Files (1993), JAG (1995), The Agency (2001), Threat Matrix (2003), Eyes (2005) and Dexter (2006). She acted in the award-winning short film The Bus Stops Here (2003), had a leading role in the western/horror indie film Legend of the Phantom Rider (2002) and has recently appeared in a horror film by legendary genre director Tobe Hooper, Mortuary (2005). This capable actress continues to appear on television and in film. Best known for her "Star Trek" days, Denise embraces her fans often at conventions and was appearing opposite her husband Ken Sylk in the drama film Ripple Effect (2007).The Walking Dead- Actress

Notable stage roles include his "Breathtaking" (Billboard) performance as gonzo rock journalist Lester Bangs in the solo-play "How To Be A Rock Critic" at Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago and at The Public Theater in New York. Jensen co-wrote "How To Be A Rock Critic" and was directed by his wife and frequent collaborator Jessica Blank. Early theater appearances include plays by Terrence McNally (Manhattan Theater Club) and Arthur Kopit (MTC).
In addition to his work as a performer, Erik is a playwright and screenwriter. He was named by The New Yorker as "among the foremost practitioners of documentary theater in the U.S." With his wife Jessica Blank, he is author of the multi-award-winning, critically-acclaimed play, "The Exonerated", which ran Off-Broadway in New York City for nearly two years and starred Richard Dreyfuss, Susan Sarandon, Aidan Quinn, and Delroy Lindo. "The Exonerated" is considered by many to be a genre-defining play in the realm of "documentary theater." Based on interviews conducted with over 40 wrongly convicted death row inmates across the United States, "The Exonerated" won Lucille Lortel, Outer Critics Circle, Drama Desk, Ovation, Fringe First and Herald Angel Awards, and was nominated for the Hull-Warriner Award and the John Gassner Playwriting Award; it has also received awards from Amnesty International, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Death Penalty Focus, and Court TV, and was named Best Play of the Year by the New York Times. The screen adaptation of The Exonerated (2005) was directed by Bob Balaban. Jensen and Blank's book on the making of the "The Exonerated" titled "Living Justice" was published in 2005 by Simon and Schuster and received a Kirkus starred review.
On the heels of "The Exonerated" Jensen and Blank created the documentary play "Aftermath," a NY Times Critic's Pick, based on their interviews with Iraqi civilian refugees in Jordan, which ran Off-Broadway to sold out houses at New York Theater Workshop and toured Europe extensively. Their third play, "How To Be A Rock Critic" (based on the writing of Lester Bangs), received rave reviews from Rolling Stone, Billboard, Variety, The New Yorker, and from Bangs' contemporaries Greil Marcus and Jim Derogatis. It played sold out runs at the Kirk Douglas, South Coast Rep, ArtsEmerson, Steppenwolf, and The Public Theater with Jensen as Lester Bangs and wife Jessica Blank directing. As television writers, Jensen and Blank have collaborated with EPs including Tom Fontana (Oz (1997), City on a Hill (2019)), Ed Burns (The Wire (2002), Generation Kill (2008)), and David Simon. Their documentary play, "Coal Country" (a New York Times Critics' Pick), about the 2010 Upper Big Branch Mine disaster, had a critically lauded World Premiere at The Public Theater, directed by Jessica Blank, with original music written and performed by three-time Grammy winning musician Steve Earle. The play is a recipient of the Edgerton Foundation New Play Award, and was nominated for the Drama Desk award for Outstanding Director (Jessica Blank) and Outstanding Music in a Play (Steve Earle). When the run was cut short by COVID-19, Jensen/Blank pivoted and wrote "The Line," a new play created and crafted from first-hand interviews with NYC medical first responders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Starring Santino Fontana, Arjun Gupta, John Ortiz, Alison Pill, Nicholas Pinnock, Jamey Sheridan, and Lorraine Toussaint, "The Line" streamed live on The Public Theater's YouTube Channel and was extended twice. Also a New York Times Critics' Pick, "The Line" garnered rave reviews from coast to coast: the New York Times calling it "harrowing," with the Los Angeles Times proclaiming "these words sting with truth, but it's the human spectrum before us that turns sociological observation into gasping emotion."
Erik's sci-fi graphic novel "The Reconcilers" (co-created with R. EmeryBright, and Pil Pilegaard) was published in 2010 to a rave from AintItCoollNews. An avid Dungeons and Dragons player, Jensen co-hosts the podcast "BardQuest Empire" with fellow actor and writer Fajer Al Kaisi.
