Photo credit: “Shutterstock.AI” The Brady Bunch was a pop-culture phenomenon, changing how families were portrayed on TV over 50 years ago! Creator Sherwood Schwartz’s blended family of six kids struck a relatable chord as family dynamics were changing. Stars like Barry Williams (Greg) and Susan Olsen (Cindy) had no idea of the show’s massive reach until they ventured outside the studio. At a fan event a few years ago, they shared they had no idea how popular the show was until they got out of Los Angeles and saw and heard the reactions from across the country. “The Brady Bunch” star Barry Williams was inspired by TV mom Florence Henderson to go on “Dancing With the Stars,” he told TheWrap in an interview last week.
Henderson, who played mom Carol Brady on the ’70s sitcom, competed in Season 11 of the ABC competition. “She was my inspiration,” he said. When asked if he thinks of the actress, who died on Nov. 24, 2016, whenever he hits the dance floor, he answered, “Yes. Every week.”
Williams visited the set in 2010 to watch Henderson rehearse and perform. “I was really taken with it,” he said. “She had always mentored me in one way or another. She knew that I had been active theatrically in a lot of musicals, and she thought this would be a great fit for me. I got the bug, and she made me promise to go for it.”

Dancing with the Stars‘ competitor Barry Williams is one of the most beloved classic television celebrities. For those who grew up in the 1970s and beyond, his work on The Brady Bunch remains must-see TV for its wholesome portrayal of a blended American family. However, he may hold a different distinction within his fictional television clan: is Barry the oldest living member of the original Brady Bunch cast?
Barry Williams played the oldest Brady brother, Greg, on ‘The Brady Bunch’
Barry Williams’ role as Greg Brady on The Brady Bunch instantly made him one of TV’s most recognizable faces. Alongside co-stars Robert Reed, Florence Henderson, Ann B. Davis, Maureen McCormick, Eve Plumb, Susan Olsen, Christopher Knight, and Mike Lookinland, The Brady Bunch became a cultural phenomenon that ran for five seasons on the ABC network.

Anyone who grew up in the 1970s can tell you the story of a lovely lady, who was bringing up three very lovely girls, and a man named Brady, who was busy with three boys of his own. Of course, one day, the lady met this fellow, and the rest is TV history. When Carol Martin (Florence Henderson) married Mike Brady (Robert Reed), all six of their children came together, along with their trusty maid Alice (Ann B. Davis), to become the sitcom family known as "The Brady Bunch."
"The Brady Bunch" is one of the most beloved and memorable sitcoms of all time. The adolescent antics of Greg (Barry Williams), Peter (Christopher McKnight), Bobby (Mike Lookinland), Marcia (Maureen McCormick), Jan (Eve Plumb), and Cindy (Susan Olsen) made for plenty of comedy and drama as the bunch dealt with the trials and tribulations of a blended family, sibling rivalries, growing up,...

Dancing with the Stars viewers are calling foul on judges Carrie Ann Inaba, head judge Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli. They claim the trio was “underscoring” beloved TV star Barry Williams after a lively Cha Cha for Latin Night. Fans believe “they did him dirty” by giving the entertainer scores that placed him toward the bottom of the leaderboard.
Fans believe judges were ‘underscoring’ Barry Williams’ on his challenging Cha Cha
Dancing with the Stars Season 32 cast member Barry Williams entered week two of DWTS facing a challenging Cha Cha for Latin Night. Peta Murgatroyd trained Williams in the dance, incorporating small, quick steps rather than long glides across the dance floor.
In a video package accompanying William’s Cha Cha, Peta Murgatroyd and other competing couples celebrated Williams’ 69th birthday in a DWTS rehearsal room. The former Brady Bunch star admitted a great birthday gift would be high scores from the judges.

HGTV has sold The Brady Bunch house and it did so at below the asking price and below the price they paid when they purchased it back in 2018.
The Los Angeles home served as the exterior shot of the popular 1970s sitcom. HGTV bought the home and renovated the interior to replicate the Hollywood sets of the comedy that starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the home sold for $3.2 million, which the cable network had listed at $5.5 million earlier this year. HGTV bought the home for $3.5 million at the time and documented the renovations with specials like A Very Brady Renovation and A Very Brady Renovation: Holiday Edition.
Tina Trahan, a self-proclaimed fan of the show and the 1995 parody film, bought the home and said she would use the house located in Studio City for charitable events.

HGTV purchased the house in Studio City for $3.5 million in 2019. The network then invested $1.9 million in a massive renovation of the midcentury home, which was chronicled in the 2019 series A Very Brady Renovation.
The show reunited the actors who played the six Brady siblings – Barry Williams (Greg), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Christopher Knight (Peter), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby), and Susan Olsen (Cindy). They teamed up with HGTV renovation experts Jonathan and Drew Scott, Mina Starsiak Hawk and Karen E Laine, Leanne and Steve Ford, Jasmine Roth, and Lara Spencer to transform the house so that it closely resembled the interior seen on the beloved sitcom, which aired from 1969 to 1974.

Haylie Duff and Aaron O'Connell star as a couple in love in Lifetime's Blending Christmas.
O'Connell's character decides on a Christmas proposal that includes extended family from both sides, which turns out to be a little more complicated than he imagined. Thankfully, with The Brady Bunch's Barry Williams, Susan Olsen, Christopher Knight, and Mike Lookinland around, complications didn't overshadow the love.

Here's the story of two lovely ladies, both of them with hair of gold like their TV mother, who spent their childhood on and then parlayed that sitcom stardom into new careers as TV home décor experts. Maureen McCormick and Eve Plumb, known worldwide as The Brady Bunch's Marcia and Jan, respectively, joined the Hgtv family with A Very Brady Renovation in 2019. The TV siblings, along with Barry Williams, Susan Olsen, Christopher Knight and Mike Lookinland, teamed up with a variety of Hgtv stars to redo the inside of the home that provided the exterior shots of the Brady compound to look like the TV set. A pilot, Generation Renovation, followed for Plumb, as did a new gig for McCormick hosting...

Update: Fresh off the success of their Hgtv series, Discovery Network has confirmed it will air the special A Very Brady Renovation: Holiday Edition on Dec. 16. But there’s a change of venue. Instead of Hgtv, the show moves to The Food Network.
The six Brady Bunch siblings join Ree Drummond, the star of Food Network’s The Pioneer Woman, and Jasmine Roth, star of Hgtv’s Hidden Potential, to create ‘70s-inspired treats and festive decorations. The special airs on Food Network Dec. 22.
Brady Bunch cast members Barry Williams (Greg), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Christopher Knight (Peter), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby) and Susan Olsen (Cindy) are on board for the special.

Here’s the story of a rock star obsessed with the Bradys.
No kidding. Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 got to live out a childhood fantasy when he attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly revealed Brady Bunch house on Hgtv’s “A Very Brady Renovation.”
John 5, who has collaborated with a diverse array of musicians — from David Lee Roth to Ricky Martin to Steve Perry — had an “in” for the invite-only unveiling: Susan Olsen, who played Cindy Brady in “The Brady Bunch,” was featured in the video for the guitarist’s song “Zoinks!” from his new album, “Invasion.”
“It was like taking a little boy to a toy store,” Olsen tells Variety of her friend’s reaction to the house. “When people walk into the house, they magically turn into children, and John is just the kind of child you want to spoil rotten because he’s so lovable.

Here’s the story of a lovely lady
Who was bringing up three very lovely girls
All of them had hair of gold, like their mother
The youngest one in curls
Here’s the story of a man named Brady
Who was busy with three boys of his own
They were four men living all together
Yet they were all alone
Till the one day when the lady met this fellow
And they knew that it was much more than a hunch
That this group must somehow form a family
That’s the way we all became the Brady Bunch
The Brady Bunch, the Brady Bunch
That’s the way we became the Brady Bunch
Now that the song is going through your head (you’re welcome), what was it about this cheesy little sitcom that has made it endure 50 years? “The Brady Bunch” is celebrating its 50th anniversary ABC...

“And that’s the way we remade the Brady House…” chimes the theme song of “A Very Brady Renovation,” the upcoming Hgtv series that follows the recreation of the classic TV set inside the L.A. property which served as the home’s on-camera exterior.
It’s just the latest stop as the nostalgia train keeps on, keeps on, keeps on moving long after “The Brady Bunch” wrapped up its initial five-season run in 1974. The series has spawned spin-off shows, movies, albums, a variety hour and a cartoon, not to mention the millions of dollars of merchandise sold around the series. The beloved Brady 6 are back together after more than 15 years thanks to Hgtv’s four-part series, A Very Brady Renovation. During the show’s presentation at the TCA press tour at the Beverly Hilton, The Brady Bunch alums Barry Williams (Greg), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Christopher Knight (Peter), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby) and Susan Olsen (Cindy) convened onstage to dish on the reunion.
Through the years, there have been a number of Brady revivals and reunions that have involved some of the original cast members, but for this one, it was important that everyone was involved.
“There are so many elements that had to come together to make this thing work. It’s almost unfathomable,” Williams said. “I love these people. We’ve had great relationships our entire lives but not all together at the same time. It was crucial to have every single person on this stage in that show.

All six former child actors from “The Brady Bunch” were on hand Thursday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour to talk about their new Hgtv show, “A Very Brady Renovation.”
“They paid way to much for this house,” Barry Williams, who played Greg on “The Brady Bunch,” joked.
He was joined by his former co-stars Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Eve Plumb (Jan), Susan Olsen (Cindy), Mike Lookinland (Bobby), and Christopher Knight (Peter), who all participated in renovating the famous “Brady Bunch House” in Studio City, California.
But the truth was, the actors never actually filmed a single scene in the famous Brady house — it was only used in establishing shots of the exterior, while the rest of the show was filmed on a set miles away.

It would be very hard to pick out a single cultural artifact that somehow manages to embody all of Seventies pop culture, but the Brady Bunch’s short-lived variety show would certainly be a strong contender. For those who weren’t watching ABC between November 1976 and May 1977, The Brady Bunch Hour featured the cast of the original show staging elaborate song-and-dance routines mixed in with comedy segments and even domestic scenes of the family in a new home. The “Brady Bunch” cast has been spending a lot of quality, on-screen family time together recently, as they renovate their iconic home — the one they never actually shot inside for the ’70s sitcom as all the interiors were filmed at the Paramount lot in Hollywood.
In honor of the show’s 50th anniversary, the inside of the Studio City, California, house that became known as the “Brady Bunch House” by millions of viewers is being transformed into the on-screen home. The “Today” show previewed the event in the interview above on Thursday, showing Barry Williams (Greg), Christopher Knight (Peter), Mike Lookinland (Bobby), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Eve Plumb (Jan), and Susan Olsen (Cindy) reunite to each renovate one or two rooms.
